I was randomly watching through her Born This Way videography earlier and was just mesmerized and taken back, truly reminded of how fortunate we were to be alive in a time where she was birthing her magnum opus to the world. What a truly criminally underrated album, era, and artist. Her work, her level of pure unadulterated artistry, vision, creativity, talent, and perfect execution is truly and was truly exceptionally one of a kind. PAINFULLY one of a kind, because we need artists like her active today along with the excitement they usher in and it was viceserally noteable as I nostalgically viewed "Born This Way" through "Alejandro" in amazement. If I were to quantify it, it would be like saying she is the "Mona Lisa" of musical creatives. Oddly she feels less exciting these days since she's lost a lot of that eccentric spark she had, but all the talent is still undoubtedly there. I so desperately want to see her return to those soaring, melodically-entrancing, powerhouse pop songs she took the World over with. Give us just one more The Fame Monster or Born This Way GaGa! Revolutionize pop culture just once more with a collection of new songs and videos that are too godly to deny! It may be controversial to say, but she is our Michael. She is our most collectively talented and versatile music act bar none. No exception. Hate it or love it. And she is sorely missed. She is one of the last musicians who truly took not only the art of music, of image, of fashion seriously, but the art of being a star itself, which is likely why now she feels so unattainable, untouchable for us mere mortals. lol Just give me one more straight up pop album with all the bells and whistles please muva! Bring the color back to our musical lives!

Well said! I think LG7 might lean towards BTW but no one knows how it's going to turn out yet.
BTW was included in Rolling Stone's 500 best albums of all time list, so its legacy is building slowly and steady.

Yeah, very well said. She was probably the most exciting artist to drop for decades and NO ONE has come close since.

While her gay fanbase want dance/pop/electronic sound, gp love hot ac/ac Gaga. She has to find a good balance between the two to satisfy everyone and guarantee commercial success.

What she needs more than anything from this album is a legitimate solo hit. It has not happened for her since Applause. It looks like she will now find herself in Shallow 2.0 territory with having a legitimate smash with a duet with DWAS, so I really really want her to be able to fully capitalize on that this time (and ROM was yet another duet hit for her where momentum was kinda wasted).
No dumb mistakes like releasing a ridiculously dated song chasing very old trends as the lead this time like Stupid Love was. They absolutely need to get the most hit ready solo song on the album out there first.

What does that have to do with my point of her not having a big solo hit since Applause? And SL coasted to a respectable debut peak off of momentum from ASIB, but was hardly a “hit” on the whole. Again, my point exactly that this time she can’t waste the momentum with a poor lead like with Chromatica.

Idk why but I always remember "Stupid Love" peaking at #10 on the Hot 100 when it was in fact #5, so even better! #9 Streaming #18 Radio Songs #1 Digital Sales #11 Pop radio This is a hit to me.

Yeah, "Stupid Love" may not have been "big" per say, but it was a hit. People seem to forget there are a myriad of other chart standards than a multi-week "#1" that constitute a hit.

Million Reasons and Stupid Love both went Top 5 in the US without a featured artist, but some folks sure love to nitpick what qualifies as a hit and move the goalposts just because it's Gaga. Like, I'm not denying that she peaked ages ago and probably isn't going to have another Bad Romance or Poker Face, but she's been doing just fine. Not every single needs to go #1 solo to be called a hit imho. Also I feel like the GP doesn't care that BC is attached to Shallow; Gaga was heavily involved in every aspect of that song's creation and Cooper isn't a music artist, so as far as I'm concerned, it's a solo hit.

I don’t define a big hit by chart position alone, especially in the streaming era. SL’s chart peaks were indeed indicative of a hit, but it was mostly ASIB momentum carrying hard at first and then the floor fell out quickly. Poor longevity showed it had more to do with her massive ASIB resurgence and the song itself wasn’t up to snuff. I highly doubt most people not in her core fandom know of remember SL for example. To me that’s not a big hit. Conversely, Always Remember Us This Way had relatively bad chart peaks, but I’d still argue is her biggest solo hit this side of Applause in terms of relevancy and reception among the general public. Hence my whole point about not wanting her to waste the momentum again so she can score a solo juggernaut finally now that she’s literally finding herself in Shallow territory all over again before a new era. DWAS may just be the biggest hit of her career since the golden years of 09-11 for her, so she needs to nail this first single choice. I’m sure there will be hit ready songs on the album, that I don’t worry about.

I know Gaga said DWAS is really a project outside of LG7. But I do hope this will appear in LG7 even like a bonus track/deluxe version track of the album.

If your definition of a hit means longevity and stability on the Hot 100, especially in the top 25 or 40, then you should've just said that upfront because everyone defines a hit or a success differently.

Chromatica deserved soooo much more, imo. But the damn pandemic f*cked with everything. I saw that album being the album of the summer. She should have been EVERYWHERE. promoting many of the songs, because they were all that good. :(
Edit: it was still a hit imo, I just wish it was more of an event. Kinda like Blackout for Britney,, could have and should have been more of a moment.

Well this is certainly a great piece of data for the argument I made in here that ARUTW is actually her biggest solo hit this side of Applause despite the poor chart performance…

Would be interesting if the entire cd just appeared one day, lol. With the way DWaS is smashing, I would also be working hard to get this on every cd possible-Bruno's, Gaga's, Joker, etc.
