This got 26 adds on impact day and 32 total stations. It's Rodney's best start on impact day in a few years, when songs like "He's Mine" and "Take A Back Road" pulled in similar numbers, but the difference is the Mediabase panel had less stations back then.
This will likely not get Rodney back to the top 40, he hasn't had one since "Just Wanna Rock N Roll" in 2012, but it's an admirable amount of starters considering his absence and label.

It's pretty interesting this one is shaping up to be Rodney's most successful single in about six years ("Just Wanna Rock N Roll"). Curb has taken their time between his last single and tbh, I never really thought they were done with trying Rodney at radio after "Eat Sleep Love You Repeat" (the no commas song lol). There's no outlier station here helping this one out, just a handful of stations bumping it to 10-20 spins per week. Medlodically, this is a bit reminiscent of mid-to-late 2000's Country radio but the production is really off-putting, especially that chorus. I agree with LBTrocks, his voice sounds terrible on this, particularly the first verse. Rodney gets gradually better as the song goes on but his voice was already not a strong suit of his and it sounds even worse on this single.

It really feels like an older song and perhaps that's why it's doing what it is doing so far. It'll be cool if he's able to get something up further if only because then it means that with the right song, Radio would probably play Jerrod Niemann or Love and Theft. Then again, Rodney has always delivered "radio friendly" songs in more consistent bursts and has enough radio hits for an actual "Greatest Hits" collection.

I'm officially a little scared. This song got another seven adds today, which equals up to a grand total of 60 adds to date.

Rodney never had a great singing voice, but I always liked his singing anyway. But he sounds dreadful on this. He sounds really harsh and strained. The production has some neat ideas in it, but it's just all over the place, and not in a good way (is Ted Hewitt still producing him?). And of course, the song opens with a typical stock country boy checklist, a trope I thought we'd finally gotten over. There are some good bits in this song, but they're mixed into a really weird and off kilter feeling song.

I could actually see this being at least a moderate hit. According to Kworb, this morning it was at #402 on iTunes all-genre, and it only has 1.771M in Mediabase audience. Unless there was a boost I didn’t know of, this appears to be selling well for its audience.
For what it’s worth, I don’t find this as bad as people were saying. Sure, the production is all over the place and drowns out his vocals in some parts, but it’s at least a melodically pleasing song and reminds me of some hits from the previous decade.

10 million streams on Spotify. So there some poeple who still care about Rodney's music even if radio doesn't.

Driving around the cornfields of Minnesota today and this was on two stations simultaneously, including one of the big Twin Cities stations. I still can't believe this is actually getting some radio spins.

Playing this song must be the favor he asked for in exhange for playing K102's Fan Jam at the end of April.

Yeah that's about when they started playing it. Same goes for Morgan Evans' Kiss Somebody and BUZN. They've been playing it for over a year since he played their Breaking Now show in May 2017.

To me, this kinda sounds similar to “Long Hot Summer” by Keith Urban.

Debut at #154 with 235,206 streams on US Spotify, as others have said before this has been doing great in streaming.

I wonder if this can slowly become a top 20 hit. I would like a new album from Rodney Adkins

Not huge on this song. It’s fine, but pretty average and forgettable. However I am looking forward to a possible new album, so I do hope this can be a top 20ish hit. I’ve liked a lot of his stuff, though more his early work.

This sounds like a bad High Valley impression. 22 weeks on the chart not peaking higher than 44...time to just let this one die.

Officially a Top 40 hit as "Caught Up In The Country" moves to #39 this week on the Billboard Country Airplay Chart. (#41 last week)

Time to drop this, Curb... They have ads running in both Billboard and Aircheck tonight. They’ll ride this out the rest of Q4.

This is Rodney's first top 40 single since 2012 ("Just Wanna Rock N' Roll" #31)

What's the slowest ascent into the Top 40? I know there have been a few songs that were 20+ weeks before breaching Top 40, but that was usually due to non-single airplay before the release (e.g. "Before He Cheats").
I still think Rodney sounds like absolute ass on this, and the lyrics are pretty weak, but there are at least enough interesting musical turns for it not to be a total fail for me.
