#4 is a song.
To be more specific, #4 is a song that consistently competed for the lowest standard deviation in the rankdown. Nine people gave this a top 10 ranking, including seven top 5s (that’s still less than Vicarious though). A lot of people ranked this in a certain range, contributing to that low SD.
Of course, the SD eventually grew, and it grew to a point where it was longer worth mentioning. It was once the lowest. Four people did not rank this in the top 50. At the same time, four people did not rank this in the top 35. It spent all but one list in the top 10, and spent the last 23 lists in the top 5. There were only two lists when this was not in the top 5. It made it up to #2 once.

I didn't realize "Jesus of Surburbia" was still around.
It's my lowest remaining, but I'm pretty sure it's right outside my top 20.

I'll say this is "Ready to Fall". I wish this could've been the number one instead of Prayer. Probably the second-highest I've placed an RA song. This one I'm cool seeing finish top 5. That said, now my lowest remaining song is 13 which is pretty sweet.

We’re coming close to the finish line. Only one song will be left behind the rest. At this point, the gaps become well-defined. This finished 82 points behind the top 2.
This song had nine people rank it top 10, and seven of them were top 5s. A lot of them were high top 5s, including the losses of at least one #1. This is another song that had 24 top-half rankers, so let’s direct our attention to the three that did not. Two of them ranked this song bottom 30, and one is lower than the other.
While this song staked its claim to the top 10 quickly, it didn’t crack the top 5 until later on in the submissions process. It also never reached #3, ever – until the final list.

Wow, my 2 and my 8 are still in. Right now I just honestly don't want the Killers to win. I didn't tank it enough to stop it.
Go Knights!

I could see the length of Jesus of Suburbia being daunting for one or two people.

I could see the length of Jesus of Suburbia being daunting for one or two people. And I think that the last ranking (indulge) boosted it up to #3 by virtue of having "Ready to Fall" low.

Killers have like 4 better singles in 2005 and 2004 than When You Were Young so hoping for Muse to win.

This did way better than I was expecting. I'm so glad this made the top three. This is probably my favorite Green Day song.
Oh, and P-P-P-P-PERFECT RANKING!
1 vs. 9
You know who I'm rooting for, but I think "When You Were Young" is winning, which I'm okay with.

glad MikeTheMoose took the #92 path so any Killers fans can direct their anger at him instead of me! Happy to see Knights of Cydonia take the win!

Oh WOW, I thought for sure that WYWY was the song that ran away with the victory. I wasn't anticipating someone other than rockman putting it bottom ten, though. But enough of that, Muse finally did it!

I wish "Jesus of Suburbia" had won instead. The two that beat it are fine, but didn't do much for me. And lol Daryl the Beryl acting like I put it in my bottom 5 or something.

Well guys, it sure has been an experience and a half. Keeping up with all the guesses, the jokes, the anger (rip Vicarious), and my stupid typos, this was a very fun time. I didn't think I could manage it, but I somehow survived. Don't give all the credit to me, though. Give respect to our fallen soldier, Green Baron. He took care of most of the stats and wrote up almost every hint. I couldn't have done it without my twin. Definitely could have done it without you, sh ithead. Go fu ck yourself and your precious RYM ratings. Thanks to all who submitted! I can safely say a large rankdown like this isn't the most relaxing thing, but it was worth it. Stay tuned for the Alt 2005 rankdown hosted by peacebone !

This is the same band that just released "Dig Down" and "Thought Contagion". Fitting that KoC won considering the Muse we know and love is dead. Also great to see Jesus this high. Definitely thought the length would turn more people off. It was around this year that Green Day was my favorite band and American Idiot my favorite album. Rock opera done right.

Oh, forgot to comment on Killers. I find this song particularly overrated but I don't hate it, it's just been overplayed.
But this does bode well for the future. There is a Killers that I LOVE that I want to see outpeak WYWY.
