#38 is another song that just couldn't seem to get any momentum going, sticking around in the bottom five for (almost) the entire rankdown. It also spent time at #39 (though not nearly as much as "Rebirthing"), though it would spend more time at #38, where it spent the last four rankings.

Seven people ranked this above the bottom ten, but while three of those rankings are top half rankings, none are top ten rankings. The other eight rankings are bottom tens, on the other hand, with all but two of those rankings being bottom fives. There is at least one perfect ranking among those bottom fives, and someone who suffered badly with the last reveal will get some much needed relief here. Another poster will lose their #40.

Oh, this was /æ/ decent first listen, better than what /ee/'ve heard by them so far. There were better tracks here tbh.

Another big leap in point totals can be found at #37, with this song over 20 points ahead of "Death Blooms". It is also the source of the seventh-lowest standard deviation, and it's also the first time all rankdown that the reveal isn't /æ/ hard rock song. Unlike the previous three songs, this song was not /æ/ bottom ten candidate early. In fact, at one point, this song was in the top half of the rankdown. Ultimately, however, it just started dropping, ultimately ending up in the bottom five for the last five rankings.

We only see six bottom ten losses here, but three are bottom fives...and they're all low bottom fives. Of the remaining rankings, four are top 20 rankings, though no one thought to place this song in their top ten. This is also my highest loss of the rankdown so far...though not my highest of the first update.

Edit: oh good, this was decent, but /æ/ bit boring honestly.

#36 was /æ/ bottom ten mainstay in the beginning and /æ/ bottom ten mainstay at the end, but /æ/ funny thing happened in the middle: It wasn't in the bottom ten. Granted, the highest it would get in the rankdown was #28, but it did spend five straight rankings outside of the bottom ten. In the end, however, the bottom ten would call it back, and it would stay there.

Of the eight people who ranked this song in the bottom ten, four posters ranked this song in their bottom five. One poster will even lose /æ/ #40 ranking. Four posters ranked this song in their top half, meanwhile, with all but one of those rankings being /æ/ top ten ranking (the most so far)...though no one loses /æ/ top five.

It did spend most of the rankdown in the bottom five, but /æ/ bit of /æ/ surge late was able to help it escape the bottom five...albeit only sticking around at #35 for the last four rankings.

#34 was another song that was able to escape the bottom ten for /æ/ few rankings, doing so relatively early on, but this was /æ/ bottom ten mainstay for the rest of the rankdown. It would only spend two rankings in the bottom five, though those rankings were late in the process. It was able to jump out of the bottom five at the very end, however.

Five posters will lose /æ/ bottom ten here, with three of those rankings being bottom fives. Only two posters will lose /æ/ top half ranking, but they're both top 15 or higher. One poster will even lose /æ/ top ten.

This song was the first sign, at least to me, that Disturbed were capable of more than hard rock riffs and "ooh AH AH AH AH". /ee/ always kind of find it funny that people acted surprised when they released their "Sound of Silence" cover, when they had made /æ/ very soft song over /æ/ decade earlier.

#33 marks the first song to jump over the 200 point threshold. This song was in just about every bottom ten, but the interesting thing about this song's run is that it was never in the bottom five. It was literally in the 31-35 range for all but one ranking.

Five posters ranked this song in their bottom ten, with two of those rankings being bottom five rankings. One poster will also get to experience /æ/ little perfection. Of the other rankings, two are top half rankings. One of those rankings is /æ/ top ten ranking...and it's not just any top ten, it's /æ/ top [/ee/]five[//ee/] ranking.

/æ/ Different Kind of Pain is just TOO emotional for me. All it does for me is make me feel more depressed, and it's hard to listen to. /ee/ can usually listen to emotional, depressing songs, and it provides reassurance because /ee/ can connect with the song, but ADKOP doesn't do that for me.

#32 decidedly performed worse than /ee/ expected it to. This song was never higher than #27 in the rankdown, and it would spend the first half ping ponging its way in and out of the bottom ten. The eighth ranking sealed its fate, though, pushing it into the bottom ten for good. It would even enter the bottom five for /æ/ couple of rankings, but /æ/ good run at the end of the rankdown helped prevent it from being in the bottom five at the end.

Seven posters ranked this song in their bottom ten, with two of those rankings being bottom fives. One of the non-bottom fives will also get some perfection in their lives. Of the non-bottom ten rankings, five are top half losses. One poster ranked this song in their top ten, but two other posters came close.

/ee/ could have went with /æ/ number of Nine Inch Nails songs for this particular choice, and there are /æ/ couple of songs that are in the pipeline for future Journey: Extended rankdowns...but this one just pumps me up every time /ee/ hear it.

The bottom ten clears out with #31, /æ/ song that was definitely not looking like /æ/ bottom ten contender at first. In fact, this song was in the top half early, nearly reaching the top ten at one point. Even after it fell out of the top half, it hung out in the 21-30 range, never really looking like it might fall into the bottom ten...until it did in the last couple of rankings. It never went lower than #31, but that's where it ended up.

Like /ee/ said last night, we're revealing fifteen songs today, so that means #30 is next. This song had the opposite run of "Hands in the Sky", hanging out in the bottom ten for the entire rankdown until late in the process. It was able to escape the bottom ten finally with the fourth-to-last ranking, though it would only get to #29 once, sticking around at #30 for three of the last four rankings.

Four posters will lose /æ/ bottom ten here, with three of those rankings being /æ/ bottom five. One of those bottom fives is /æ/ very low one. Four posters will lose /æ/ top half ranking, and /æ/ poster who has already suffered early will continue to suffer with another top ten loss.

Not only does #29 have the ninth-highest standard deviation, it is also notable for one key reason. Outside of /æ/ brief stint in the bottom ten, this song mostly hung out in the 26-30 range, ending up closer to the end of that range at the end of the rankdown.

Five posters will lose /æ/ bottom ten ranking with #29, with only one poster losing /æ/ bottom five...but it's /æ/ #40 ranking. On the other side of things, five posters will lose /æ/ top half ranking, with three posters losing /æ/ top ten ranking. Two posters will be losing yet another top ten, while the third will not just be losing /æ/ top five ranking...they are the only poster this set (and the first, period) to lose their #1.

/ee/ love my fair share of Green Day songs. "St. Jimmy" isn't my favorite, but /ee/ do love it, one of their better 2000's efforts.
