Oh Wow! Starting the excitement early with some extras. lets see.
Beating Heart Baby - Head Automatica Never heard this one. I enjoyed the music a bit more than the vocals. They not bad, but sound a bit forced. Plus he forces them in all the wrong places.
The Mixed Tape - Jack's Mannequin This didn't really work for me. I might have even liked it back then? All I know is that I haven't liked anything from his new band. I used to dig a few Something Corporate, songs. Go Figure.
Drive Away - Gratitude Anotherone I never heard. This was way more my style. Guitar strums had some 90's vibes to them. Good vocals works. He can hold the notes were it counts. I probably would have placed this one in my top 50. Pretty high for a first time listen.
City of Blinding Lights - U2 Great song. Too bad they don't sound try to sound like this anymore. I can't wait for "Vertigo" to make it's appearance.
The Nameless - Slipknot This was not...very good.
Find the Real - Alter Bridge Not the best melody for a song. It's alright, but I liked Alter Bridge more and more with each new song they released. This does have a cool sounding chorus tho.
Sweet Troubled Soul - Stellastarr* I was kinda hoping that blonde in the thumbnail would be doing all the singing. With that said; this was actually pretty damn great. Got some Cult vibes here and there and that is always a good thing.
Move Along - The All-American Rejects I remember this was a big pop hit and one of my favorite songs from this band. I really got into the band when "Swing Swing" came out. This one would have been in my top 10.

Galvanize - The Chemical Brothers feat. Q-Tip The vocals ruin the fuck out of this for me. This would have made an easy trip to my bottom 10. Maybe even #100?
Heard That Sound - MxPx I always liked this band's songs. Those catchy poppunk guitars, were way more my style of Alternative rock back then.
Thousand Mile Wish - Finger Eleven I didn't recall this at all. I'm glad they went the "Paralyzer" route, cuz this had no groove at all.
Bitemarks and Bloodstains - Finch Nope. Just couldn't get into this.
Hello Lonely (Walk Away From This) - Theory of a Deadman Great song. Fuck everyone who tanks this, because it's nothing like "Bad Girlfriend" Their first great power ballad.

Love to Let You Down - Life of Agony First time listen, but this brought out some adrenaline in me. It's not a bulls eye, but easily the type of hard rock that gets me pumped.
The World at Large - Modest Mouse I remember this one. i don't know if it's his vocals or what, but I usually forgive this ban's slower stuff. It has some Beatles vibes here and there. maybe that's it?
When You Sleep - Long-View So this band names themselves after Green Day's big hit? I like this. I like it the same as "Love To let You Down", but I would have put this higher for a better Alternative style.
Golden Touch - Razorlight Another first time listen. I wasn't following the charts back then, so if it wasn't one of the big Alt/Active hits, or if it didn't "poptart" it s way into the Hot 100, I probably never heard it before. Anyway, I really enjoyed this one. Definitely got some Strokes; vibes, with this song.
Pressure - Skindred I'm still tallying my Active list, but so far this sounds like a trainwreck.

Even with how loaded things are at the top for me, "The World at Large" and "City of Blinding Lights" would have been in my top ten with no hesitation, and top five with little hesitation. My favorite Modest Mouse song and (probably) my second-favorite U2 song.

Oh man. MxPx would have went Top 10 for me. One of the biggest influential bands for me over the last 20+ years. Finch would have gone Top 15-20 probably. Not my favorite song by them, but they're a great band that most of you probably don't know much about.

And the final Mediabase extra - this was also on the list for 2006, but it's included here because it spent more time in the top 50 in 2005. You will, however, get a chance to rank it in the 2005 Active rankdown! MEDIABASE EXTRA

Just as a note, here's some other songs that were in the top 50 at some point during the 2005 chart year (but will be included on either my 2004 or 2006 list instead due to spending more time in that chart year): The Postal Service - Such Great Heights [2004] :'( Riddlin' Kids - Stop the World [2004] Sevendust - Face to Face [2004] Thrice - Image of the Invisible [2006] :'( Sevendust - Ugly [2006]

These extras are all pretty great, except for one total travesty that further ruined a song I never cared for in the first place.
Death or Glory - Social Distortion I always had a soft spot in my heart for A good punk vibe.
Numb/Encore - Jay-Z & Linkin Park This is one of the biggest atrocities that I had the mispleasure of catching on the radio. This would have been my #100 song in this list. maybe even lower if we used more numbers. rap is like kryptonite to me. Not to mention that I never cared for the original song either.
Misfit - Elefant First time listen. The vocals are passable, but the strokes vibes goes a long way.
Counting the Days - Collective Soul This would have been super high on my list. Active too. I love this band so much that I even charted "Hollywood" . For me another great song.
This Photograph Is Proof (I Know You Know) - Taking Back Sunday I vaguely remember this, but I love all those scream along choruses.
Panic Prone - Chevelle Sounds like a first time listen to me. I kinda prefer this Alt metal ballad style a bit more. Chorus picks up, but never loses that melody. Gonna give this one, a thumbs up.
Walking With a Ghost -Tegan and Sara Wait a minute. Wasn't this a big Alt hit? Almost the whole production, The guitar strums, the synths in the back round, remind me of a Cars production. This would have been, close ,or maybe even ,Top 10 for me.
American Baby - Dave Matthews Band I don't really recall this one. Sounds like Sting? The Dave Mathews had some great songs back in the day. "Crash Into Me" always stands out as one of their biggest hits.
Riot Radio - The Dead 60s If you think they have a ;Specials, sound. You are right. They even covered "Ghost Town". "Loaded Gun" and "Last Resort" are my favs. Anyway, I would have put this pretty high on the Alternative list.
Forget to Remember - Mudvayne I remember that I still like this song.

Anyways, to help kill time during these last ~21 hours, how about a survey? 1. Which songs do you expect to be in the top 10? Predict the #1 as well, if you'd like. 2. Which songs do you expect to be in the bottom 10? Predict the #100 as well, if you'd like. 3. Which songs do you think will have the highest SDs? 4. Which songs do you think will have the lowest SDs? 5. Which songs do you think will perform better than expected? 6. Which songs do you think will perform worse than expected? 7. How high did you rank your favorite first listen in this rankdown? 8. (bonus question) How would you score each section of your list? You can use any scoring system that you want, even a simple one like "good"/"meh"/"bad".

Not very good at some of these but I'll give it a shot.
1. Which songs do you expect to be in the top 10? Predict the #1 as well, if you'd like. Best of You, Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Hysteria, Feel Good Inc, Mr. Brightside (#1), All These Things That I've Done, Holiday
2. Which songs do you expect to be in the bottom 10? Predict the #100 as well, if you'd like. Beverly Hills, Finding Out True Love Is Blind, Photograph, Gangsters & Thugs, Take Me, Disappear, No Surprise
3. Which songs do you think will have the highest SDs? Slipknot (Vermilion) is always a good guess. My other guesses would be The Widow, Beverly Hills, Photograph, Passive, B.Y.O.B., Happy?, Helena, Stricken, Personal Jesus, Blood Red Summer, We Don't Care Anymore
4. Which songs do you think will have the lowest SDs? Both U2 songs, Good People, maybe at least one of the 3 Doors Down/Garbage songs, Mr. Brightside, Best of You, Right Here, Take Me, Don't Thread on Me, My Doorbell
5. Which songs do you think will perform better than expected? Doesn't Remind Me will be Audioslave's first top 50 alternative appearance. Also, Club Foot, All These Things That I've Done, Smile Like You Mean It, Middle of Nowhere, Where Are You, maybe The Bucket
6. Which songs do you think will perform worse than expected? Remedy (especially considering it's 06 active performance), Cold, both Weezer songs, probably U2 again
7. How high did you rank your favorite first listen in this rankdown? Top 5 :)

1. Which songs do you expect to be in the top 10? Predict the #1 as well, if you'd like. I think two Killers songs make it, with Mr. Brightside being #1 and All These Things being the other one. Feel Good Inc will likely be there. Possibly Passive? At least one Green Day song, and at least one JEW song. Hysteria also seems like a safe bet. 2. Which songs do you expect to be in the bottom 10? Predict the #100 as well, if you'd like. Photograph, No Surprise, Scars, Beverly Hills will definitely be bottom 10. I think something random like Take Me might be #100. 3. Which songs do you think will have the highest SDs? Fix You for sure. Maybe Blood Red Summer, maybe Happy? Could see Vermillion having a high SD too. 4. Which songs do you think will have the lowest SDs? All the Killers songs, The Bravery, Muse. 5. Which songs do you think will perform better than expected? Could see Jack Johnson doing better than usual. 6. Which songs do you think will perform worse than expected? Foo Fighters, I feel like people will tank DOA due to being sick of it. 7. How high did you rank your favorite first listen in this rankdown? #2, lol. 8. (bonus question) How would you score each section of your list? 1-4: 10/10 5-13: 9/10 14-26: 8/10 27-48: 7/10 49-69: 6/10 70-79: 5/10 80-89: 4/10 90-93: 3/10 94-98: 2/10 99-100: 1/10
