Another #2 that should’ve went #1. I will say it’s at least a good song that’s blocking it from #1 and not something that sounds like “Good Girl” by Dustin Lynch. Now we’ll wait to see if Stapleton can dethrone the mighty Luke Combs next week!

Now we’ll wait to see if Stapleton can dethrone the mighty Luke Combs next week! Why should it have gotten to #1? If you're talking about the song's quality, I might agree with you, but as for its chart run...I don't think so. Big Machine really worked hard to keep this alive for so long and its testing was good enough to convince stations to keep it going. This push week was planned weeks ago -- before Combs took over #1 on Billboard Airplay. "Burn Out" didn't have the numbers this week to overtake really anyone that would have been #1. I think a #2 peak on Mediabase is excellent for Midland. Stapleton should be maxed starting next Sunday, with him co-hosting CCUSA next weekend. I'm expecting Combs to get at least one more week at #1. UMG Nashville knows they have to get Stapleton within shouting distance of Combs (hence the gains this week for "Millionaire") because I don't think "Beautiful Crazy" will drop off a cliff once it starts losing spins and audience. Combs should have a pretty slow decent in airplay.

Combs should have a pretty slow decent in airplay. I meant song quality and always mean song quality when I make comments like this. Not that I don't care about chart runs but I'm just saying based on the song's quality it should've had a better chart run and went to #1. I'll say the same for Stapleton, a song that will peak at #2 that should've been a #1 hit. Both songs are stellar songs in my opinion and deserve to be #1 hits but they just happened to be around when a more superior song is at the top.

According to the rolling chart, Midland is ONLY 1800 spins and twelve million AIs behind Luke Combs. I believe Midland can catch him (haha).

Well they matched their peak of Drinkin’ Problem with this one on Billboard at #3.

This doesn't even feel like half the hit that "Drinkin' Problem" was for them, so I hope #3 is indeed the ceiling for this one. It out-peaking their debut single would be a farce imo.
ETA: Looked at the update thread and it's falling now so that's good, lol.

I would love to see them get their first #01 with this debut era. It certainly would be the perfect send-off to a great album

There’s already a thread for the first single, “Mr. Lonely”. 😊

Ok this might be a new all time low for falls for a Top 5 song. "Burn Out" fell 14 spots from #3 to #17 and had half its radio audience cut in half.
Radio was beyond sick of the song and I am kind of interested see how some of the other songs that radio is burned out on ("Love Wins", "Millionaire", "Down to the Honky-tonk") and see how fast they fall.

I'm curious whether pushing a song when radio is sick of it sometimes results in radio being more hesitant to play an acts next single. Anyone know?

So glad to see radio dropping Burn Out in a record setting pace. My least favorite song of 2018.
As for radio being more hesitant on the next single after the previous one was pushed to death when radio didn't want it, Legends/I Hate Love Songs comes to mind.

The songs “Hangin On”, “Hooked”, and Good Girl” are better than Burn Out? To each their own I guess
