I thought Slow Hand by Conway Twitty was released years ago? Like this song but can't get past the melodic similarities.

Thanks to avalyn that this was officially the next single, through a BMLG press release. I like or love every song on their album but I'm shocked that "This Old Heart" has been passed over three times now for radio.

I think "This Old Heart" was the best choice for the next single. It has a big catchy chorus that's memorable and its uptempo, something radio will want as we head into the warmer months (especially from non A-listers). However, either this or "Out Of Sight" would have been my next choices. Curious to see how this one does. It has a memorable and catchy hook as well, but the song is noticeably traditional sounding and a little on the slower side.

I like this, but really preferred Electric Rodeo or This Old Heart. Highly doubt this makes much of a dent on the charts.

They couldn't have picked a bad single. Hopefully, this will get up into the top 20 at least.

I know this isnβt the case generally but this single makes because most of the time the iTunes instant grat tracks wind up being singles at some point. I believe this and βElectric Rodeoβ both were instant grat tracks. Actually I think every song from the EP ended up being instant grat tracks. I just hope we get a studio version of βGator Boysβ someday. Even if itβs just a bonus track.

Lonely For You Only and This Old Heart are my two favorites, but this would be my next pick so I'm okay with it too.

I don't get this decision at all. If they wanted to go back to a song from the original EP, This Ole Heart was the obvious choice. Electric Rodeo would've been a strong choice as well. This is a good song, but it doesn't have as strong a melody or hook as the other options. I can see this doing roughly what their last single did, petering out in the teens. Considering the buzz around these guys after their first single, I'm not sure they could've picked two worse follow up singles (their entire album was excellent, so in the context of that). All that said, it's still going to be one of the best songs out at radio, and I'll certainly be rooting hard for it to surprise me.

Mediocre choice. This isn't a bad song, but it feels very middle of the road and kind of 'there' ... and I get the vibe that this is going to be another "Make a Little" for them in terms of moving the needle (in that it won't really do much of that). Radio has clearly bought into these guys more than the general public has so far, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if this one got off to a fast start out of the gate like their last one did, but I can see this one struggling down the road. It just doesn't sound like something memorable that will stand out on the radio and grab people the way "Drinkin' Problem" did. There were definitely safer and stronger options on the record imo.

I never got why Make a Little was released, and I am even more surprised with this one. I like all songs in the album, but if I was listening to radio randomly and this song came on, I think I'd skip it. It doesn't have an immediate hook, and is a bit forgettable. If people keep listening to this, they might fall in love, but how many people will listen to a traditional song (out of the people who favor modern country on the radio) when they can listen to anything much catchier? I hope it does well, and score a top 10, but we'll see.

I love this song so much, even if I think there are more radio-friendly songs on their album. The thing is, they really could release most of their debut and I would be happy with it... I absolutely love their record that much.
Don't know if this is the best choice for 3rd single, but it got one of the loudest response on their C2C Festival set... the crowd went crazy for it (and it does work GREAT live!)

I thought Slow Hand by Conway Twitty was released years ago? Like this song but can't get past the melodic similarities. This comment caught my eye last night since I'm a huge Twitty fan. You're right. The only difference is that Burn Out is at a slightly slower tempo. Anyway, I'm still disappointed that Make A Little did not reach the top ten. So far, I am digging Midland. Love their first three singles. Hopefully, 2018 will be their year to land their first chart topping hit with Burn Out or a possible fourth On The Rocks single.

I have no problem with smoking or smokers but the visual image I get when listening to this song is disgusting.

This is an OK choice I guess, but "This Old Heart" really should have been the single. I can see "Burn Out" stalling at around #30 on the airplay charts.

These guys had a better add date yesterday than I expected, as "Burn Out" pulled in 45 adds. It got two early adds, so it had a total of 47 adds on add date. That's really good for a third single, especially since "Make A Little" stalled in the teens and sold so poorly. It seems that radio is still pretty enthused about these guys. I definitely think this will have a slower climb than their last two singles, but that might not be a bad thing.

It also received 12 more Mediabase adds this week, for close to 60 week after its impact date...pretty solid showing for their third single off their debut album. I've heard a few stories on these guys and just how they're impressing radio. It's their live performances, such as the CRS 2017 showing they did last year, but it's also their sheer personalities. Their "life of the party" type of people and are pretty outgoing, which is a big key to impressing programmers. A program director told me that the station reps stayed out with them the night before their morning radio tour visit, until 3:00 am lol. I think it was just a perfect storm of live shows, personalities and the fact mainstream radio has been a little more open to traditional country music the last 2-3 years. I disagree with "Burn Out" being a single (I would've been happier with just about anything else off this album as the third single), but radio is clearly giving them every opportunity to stick around.

With Luke Bryan's "Most People Are Good" leaving the Mediabase chart, say welcome to "Burn Out" as it debuts at #50 tonight with a bullet of 91 spins from last Sunday!!!

Love the music video! <3 Simple concept but really great execution of the long one take.
I usually love 'one-shot' music videos and this one just flows beautifully... the whole sequence that starts with the girls dancing together and culminates with the band playing the instrumental part of the song is by far my favorite moment!
