Is it possible that Gods Plan will tie or surpass Despacito 16 weeks record?

I don't really get how Freaky Friday is a special "comedic" spoof song. To me it doesn't seem any different from other hip-hop songs. It's inspiration might be the movie, but it isn't an exact spoof or cover of another song a la Weird Al, and certainly many other songs have had comedic elements and were inspired by other works.

Is it possible that Gods Plan will tie or surpass Despacito 16 weeks record? Keep in mind that there will be a new Weeknd song that will be released before Coachella and then perform the new song over there. Also, Cardi B is going to release a new single from her new album coming next Friday. I'm not sure if either will be No. 1 but The Weeknd and Cardi B are streaming monsters so they might have a chance.

Chris Brown sings from the perspective of Lil Dicky. Lil Dicky raps from the perspective of Chris Brown. That's a unique and novel collaboration concept that I'm not sure has ever been done before. Especially not in the Top 10. What songs with comedic elements are you thinking about that have gotten to this peak recently? Only one I can think of is "The Fox" by Ylvis. Maybe "One More Drink" by Ludacris like 9 years ago. "My Band" by D12 like 14 years ago. There's a difference between a song that has some funny punchlines and a conceptual thematic comedy song that's based on a specific premise.

I really think Ariana has a chance to debut at #1. God's Plan will continue to naturally lose points over the next few weeks. What will determine if she debuts at #1 is of course song quality (I hope she goes for her usual sound evolved but I fear she will release an urban heavy track which will be too out there for the Hot 100, possibly featuring Mac Miller) but also other songs that come out before then. I definitely do not consider The Weeknd anywhere close to a shoe in for a #1 debut, but if it is a good song and especially with the Coachella performance, it could stand as a barrier to the top. Here's hoping Ariana ushers in the next phase of pop bops being big on the Hot 100

This might be dumb of me, but I want a power ballad about the state of the world from Ariana, cos yh. Anything else would disappoint me, no matter how much of a bop it is.

I think the top ten in general seems weaker than usual so no doubt something will come out of the blue to challenge Drake in coming weeks.

Cardi on the other hand, she might go top 10 but that's it.

Cardi on the other hand, she might go top 10 but that's it. I feel like it could have been much bigger if it was the lead single and if it had a video released around the time the movie premiered I am pretty sure that his own lead single could easily outpeak it, even if it doesn't instantly go to #1 (or at all)

Did it even chart on country? If it did, not very high probably. We Are Never Ever... is a country song?
