Sunflower will reach it in 2 weeks. How many weeks do y'all think it'll end up with in total? I'm gonna go with 60.

Here's my watchlist (> 26 weeks): Wow. (#35, 41 wks) DWAS (#31, 38 wks) Suge (#20, 27 wks) might be a bit of a long shot, it's been dropping pretty steadily Sucker (#16, 31 wks) Sunflower (#15, 50 wks) is basically a guarantee at this point Talk (#12, 34 wks) has been having a very graceful descent from its #3 peak OTR (#10, 31 wks) might not break the 25/52 rule after all, but still had good consistency the past 3 weeks bad guy (#6, 27 wks) rose inside the top 10 last week!
Not yet eligible for the watchlist, but still worth watching, are Truth Hurts (#1) and SYL (#3), who both received bullets in their 22nd and 21st week.
Thoughts?

I believe those are all the same songs I have on my watchlist (minus Suge). I'll predict how many weeks I think each one will get: Wow.: 45 weeks DWAS: 44 weeks Suge: 36 weeks Sucker: 44 weeks Sunflower: 60 weeks Talk: 52 weeks OTR: 52 weeks bad guy: 52 weeks Bonus: Truth Hurts: 50 weeks SYL: 47 weeks

Sunflower will reach 52 weeks next week and almost certainly more in the weeks to come.

Sunflower hit 52. Will be the first song since Perfect to exceed 52 weeks next week.

Likely "Sunflower" will drop off the charts once Adele releases her new song.

^I can assure you that Sunflower will not be anywhere near #25 when that happens, so that won't happen.

Likely "Sunflower" will drop off the charts once Adele releases her new song. Why do you say that? When the album drops maybe because a strong album bomb would be enough to push it off, but one song isn't going to do it unless it's hanging around 24-25, which probably won't be for another 6-8 weeks at least.

So many songs can spend forever on the charts these days. It's nice to see this list compiled, though.

Honestly I think Radioactive's Record will never be overtaken, because of the 52 week rule. That's unless some new rule or way of listening to music is introduced that lets songs on the Hot 100 last longer.

What song do we think will be the next to be added to this elite company? Old Town Road? Bad Guy? Truth Hurts? No Guidance? Someone You Loved? Rihanna, Adele, Drake’s new lead single?

I’m going to go wild and say E, all of the above. Unless I’m misunderstanding how recurrence works and TH gets knocked out if it falls below 25.

Old Town Road would be the next song to be added to the elite company, since it has the most weeks on the chart thus far out of all of the songs kierz7 mentioned.
Although I think Talk has a chance if it doesn't fall too hard in the next few months.

Bad Guy could certainly do it as well, as could Old Town Road if it manages to hold on as well for the next few months. It is even possible that Dancing With A Stranger might do it if it manages to stay in the top 50 until its 52 week.

A true warrior has at long last fallen, RIP Sunflower. At least it managed to be the first new song not by Ed Sheeran to chart for over 52 weeks since the rule started.
What song could be the next one to do this? I'm not sure if any of the songs currently charting will make it further than 52, Bad Guy has a slight chance but the rest I don't see it happening. Obviously it's still way too early but I'd love to see Posty himself do it again with Circles.

Technically Sunflower isn’t the first. Uptown Funk was knocked off due to the 25/52 rule, and it did so after avoiding the rule for 3 weeks when it was first implemented. So it should definitely count. (I can understand why you wouldn’t count SUAD, but not this since it charted past when the rule was introduced).

Adding a watch list specifically for this thread, with songs added to watch list if they are annual charting songs or if they are nearly certain or have already lasted longer than 40 weeks:
Made 52 Weeks:
Potential Songs: Lucid Dreams (#8, 47 weeks) *unlikely* Old Town Road (#39, 41 weeks) *only possible if it holds on until after Christmas* Bad Guy (#21, 37 weeks) *possible* All I Want For Christmas Is You (#1, 35 weeks) *very possible, eventually* Someone You Loved (#4, 31 weeks) *possible* Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree (#3, 30 weeks) *likely, at some point* Jingle Bell Rock (#15, 28 weeks) *likely, at some point*

Its holding on pretty well and its far enough away from the bottom 50 that it doesn't have to worry too much about the Christmas stuff. Old Town Road im worried will only have one more week or maybe not even another week at all, nut if it survives Christmas its getting that 52 weeks!. I think No Guidance is being underestimated by you guys. Its been holding alot better then some of the higher peaking songs even if it didnt peak too high, and it doesn't have to worry about Christmas stuff too much

Finally I can post in this thread again, didn't wanna double post lmao
No song is currently close to 52 weeks for the first time in a while (you can thank the Christmas bomb for that). Not counting Lucid Dreams OTR is the current closest, but there's a real chance it won't survive the next 2 weeks of the Christmas onslaught. If it's able to hang on though then the Grammy's boost it'll get in a few weeks would probably be enough to help it reach 52. Bad Guy I think will almost certainly get there since it's still near the top 20 and will also benefit from the Grammy's. Outside of that, Someone You Loved will probably get there at the rate it's been going (barring a sudden collapse), Senorita I thought would've been a good candidate but it's collapsed pretty hard the last few weeks so I'm not sure about that anymore, and besides that that's really all we got for now. Wouldn't be surprised to see Circles get there eventually but it's way too early for that one.
