If you don't know since you have NYC in bio, there are 2 official languages in my coutry: Macedonian & Albanian. Here we are, attempting to discredit me because I live in the West. But yes, I'm well aware. Macedonian Albanians are overrepresented in the diaspora because, like their Kosovar brethren, they had to flee persecution. One of the Neighbours that have "fascist parties or organizations" is my country whould you care to explain how . . . Explain how...? Are you implying the Democratic Union for Integration is a fascist party? Edit: And how would you feel if a Macedonian celebrity (there isn't any lmao) posted a picture that involved territories of Albania, because there are macedonians living there. I know, there isn't. Your people weren't forced to flee in massive numbers for the West where a lucky few could find careers in entertainment. But to answer your question, I probably wouldn't find out because the the response would've been muted since Serb nationalists wouldn't have pounced. Edit 2: Do you know what UÇK is ? - if "the Yugoslav Wars happened in most of our lifetimes"... s**t this is 2001. Should i open my mouth about 2015. ?? I shouldn't have to tell you why a resistance movement like the Kosovo Liberation Army came about. But I'll remind you again: it's the same reason Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, and hundreds of thousands of other Kosovar Albanians and their families fled Kosovo for the West. Do you think systematic rape and wiping out entire villages of Muslims should've been met with pacifism? Edit 3: I don't plan to argue over the internet over history when it never brings anything good, only pain. Just wanted to say that there is always another side to the story, and you shouldn't put all eggs in the same basket (every country isn't the same). There is no other to side to genocide. Good day.

If she was a Greek-Albanian popstar with a local career in Greece and posted that, she'd get annihilated and cancelled by everyone. Actually there have been quite a few Greek-Albanian popstars who got heat for expressing far less controversial opinions on the matter. That picture is NOT it but I don't think her message was meant to be taken in the nationalistic idea of Greater Albania either. lmao, hello, Eleni Foureira! Who, for those that don't know, had previously claimed Brazilian and Mexican heritage because she feared that admitting she was of Albanian origin would be career-ending in Greece. But yes, it's Dua Lipa, the child of refugees, who is an ethno-nationalist. Eleni is a child of refugees too but the reasons she had hid her heritage for so long was because of the racism and discrimination Albanians face in Greece which is a whole another topic. Both her and Dua don't seem like extreme nationalists though so it's all a huge misunderstanding stemming from the convoluted history of the Balkans.

Ok, Mic Technique you said this "Albanians are not active in fascist parties or organizations. The same is also not true for their neighbors." That means every neighbour has that, that is why i said care to explain. Genocide has been commited on macedonianas but you don't know history that well (Not by Albaninas don't get it mistaken). I asked about UCK because they attacked Macedonian territories in 2001 (we had no involvment whatsoever in Kosovo). We are apart of Yugoslavia and JNA from 1991. 2015 there was a terrorist attack in Kumanovo... But anyways i don't like discussing this online. Have a good day aswell, hopefully we discuss happier things in the future.

I don't care if she's right or wrong, she uses her social platforms to promote things like this.
I saw she was trending in some countries yesterday (#1 in Israel), and people now associate her with Anti-Semitism and Nazism. I don't think she needs that image as a pop singer.

This thread is a whole mess already. From the blatant signs of nationalism to people calling North Macedonia 'Macedonia' and multiple Twitter threads, all using different facts & logic to support their beliefs.
No conversation can be held when no one is willing to hear what everyone has to say and check if those opinions correspond to reality. We all know that historical bias exists and what children worldwide are taught varies to a great extent, especially when it comes to countries involved in such brutal historic events.
Now, everyone here and on Twitter may have their own point of view but it shows that many of those statements aren't well supported by facts. Far right Twitter quickly started attacking Dua & calling her a neo-Nazi. Another twitter thread I stumbled upon was using the "Dua just posted a tweet, she isn't gonna start an expansive war" logic which is just as stupid as it sounds. Of course she isn't. It's just propaganda.
I totally support Kosovo & recognize it as an Independent State. I hope we're gonna get some kind of statement by Dua cause this tweet & picture is not a good look. Not that I'm gonna stop streaming or anything but :(

Wow, look at all this mess her latest post brought up. And Iwas really into her low profile persona. Anyway, she shouldnt promote ideas like that on social media. She has already received backlash in my home country, where she has a huge fanbase..

Ava Max, Rita Ora, and Bebe Rexha all indirectly show support. Re: history being subjective -- it is. However I don't think you can deny the anti-muslim rhetoric of the Serbian nationalist movement and many lives it has cost in Bosnia and Albania at different points in time. Dua, as a person who has personally suffered the consequences of that as the child of refugees, is allowed to clap back at the hate she received for speaking her mind regarding her motherland. 90% of Kosovar Albanians were displaced after the war, with more than half being expelled from the country that they built, and that isn't debatable. The image she posted doesn't imply militaristic action but more so represents where Albanians were/are before the ethnic cleansing, but it can easily be spun in that direction if one pleases. It is known that 96% of Albanians in Kosovo want to be independent, while 2.5% want to join Albania and even a smaller portion believes in "Greater Albania" so I highly doubt that Dua Lipa of all people is pushing for this idea.

Well, congrats on her powerful response in terms of supporting her origins, her pride in her ethnicity and love beyond borders. Although the picture wasnt the message of her post, its still a wrong choice..

Ah yes, the day after 23rdsth. yeah, also the day the song is going to be released. I was pointing out your typo. It should be 24th. The 'r' is only needed when talking about numbers that need 'rd' such as 3rd or 23rd.

BBC R2 : ""...if were to get a remix of this on friday we’ll be sure to play it.“
Mr S via ATRL (in the Dua Lipa Base) : "Seems like her team is moving fast. An album track will have a remix and a feature artist at the same time. Not really [sure] if this is a single anywhere, maybe US."
Arcade via ATRL (In the Hallucinate thread) : "Single switch soon. New version of a fan favorite. What are your favorite DJs?"
~
Pretty sure a remix for Hallucinate is coming out this Friday alongside Un Dia.

her addressing that was perfectly said. we love a humble, educated, classy queen who knows how to properly assemble a statement to her audience that is brief and just as effective.

My guess is either a Levitating remix with another female artist or a Future Nostalgia re-release.

Hmm I feel like that poster from ATRL was referring to another track, not Hallucinate. Also this is up to #9 on UK iTunes and #57 on Apple Music UK. It started debuting on the Ireland and Netherlands Spotify charts, so hoping it starts to climb in the UK. Praying for another Top 10 + Platinum single :kii:

Would personally love a true Madonna and Dua collab rather than a remix / feature so I hope that's the case. I'm not sure how that would work considering the US is up in the air in regards to movie theaters unless WB is fine with a VOD release. I'm sure WW 1984 would do numbers.
