Omg at Never Be the Same potentially going Top 5. Camilla is KILLING it - it's pretty amazing when you realize Selena also has two top 5 hits, and Demi peaked with a #6 hit. I really hope she releases "Real Friends" next - it gives me "Love Yourself" vibes. But will she be around ten years from now? Sis, you didn't even think her debut would be a success. Stop moving the mark.

I was playfully taking offense at the post as big Demi fan. Realistically, it won’t be too difficult for her to hit the ten year mark if we’re including her 5H career.

Where is at on Spotify? It's #2 on Apple Music behind Nice For What. It seems like with the sales and streams it has it could debut top 20, probably top 10 though. last I checked Spotify hasn’t updated yet. Watch debuts at #2 on U.S. Spotify with 2,095,463 streams. I'm surprised, tbh.

Something tells me Kanye West's career is very much alive.
I really hope he can get his first Top 10 of the decade this year. The Top 10 has been missing him since 2010.

I know this has nothing to do with the BB100 but I can't believe Australia let Post Malone Tie MJ's Record for having the most number of songs debut on their charts .

5 #1s from the same album without a re-release. Yes it is, but it's much easier for the streaming monsters to get #1s these days. If that record will ever be broken it'll most probably be done so by Drake who has shown that he can easily debut at #1 nowadays. He already has 2 #1 and his album doesn't come out for another month (I think). If he releases a new song in 2 weeks it'll most definitely debut at #1 too. Then the album drops and little did we know he has a song with Post Malone + Kendrick Lamar etc. that debuts at #1 too and then another few singles with talked-about music videos that get lucky and sneak in a week at #1 later in the year. All scenarios, all ifs but it is possible if we take into account Drake's recent trajectory. Katy had 5 #1s without a re-release as well. The re-release drama was about whether the 6th #1 (Part Of Me) should count or not, but she tied the record legitimately, so it's the "Bad/Teenage Dream" record now. But Sherane's right, it was easier earlier in the decade to have a #1. It feels like nearly very second number one today spends 10+ weeks at #1 now, but the first song to do that this decade only came in late 2011. In late 2010, there were I think 6 or 7 one-week #1s in a row. With current music consumption, probably Ke$ha or someone would have had huge streams and blocked the other 5 songs. I think if there was streaming back then like now, it would have been What's My Name which was #1 the whole time. Or maybe Like A G6.

First, I'm over it with all these dominant Drake songs. I mean, they're ok, but I really don't get the hype. Ditto goes for the oversaturation of hip hop in general on the Hot 100. I like Drake a lot compared to some of the other stuff. Maybe I'm getting old but some of it...I just don't get it. Did it bother you in 2004/05? If it didn't then you're just definitely getting old.

Sure about that? How many times this decade has somebody had 3 #1s from the same album. In comparison to past decades when #1s were slightly or significantly more common? The Hot 100 has only recently become streaming-dominant. How many albums have had 3 or more #1s in streaming?

His presence was felt more than McCartney, who is the one I'd feel a need to add "technically" for the credit.

I am not sure I remember...what was that 50 Cent? It's sort of apples and oranges I think, because hip hop from that era didn't sound at all like what we hear now. Some stuff now...the track is so minimal I just sometimes wonder how they decided the song was complete. Anyway, I was not being serious really...just some random thoughts I had. In other news, I can't understand anything Post Malone says in his songs...lol...

How many albums have had 3 or more #1s in streaming? 1989 (streaming wasn't the dominant metric, so I don't know if we can count this as being streaming era) Purpose (Sorry was the only streaming driven #1 from that album, tho)

I'm not sure if even Drake can get 5 number ones from an album. It's hard for singles to do well after the album release and the weeks following release have passed for hip-hop artists it seems. I do think he can get a third #1 but i'm not sure about a fourth or fifth without a special remix (Bad Blood, ET, Perfect, etc.).

Kanye might chart with the troll song "Lift Yourself". Something tells me Kanye West's career is very much alive.
I really hope he can get his first Top 10 of the decade this year. The Top 10 has been missing him since 2010. Are you sure about that? You might want to check the headlines about him recently. I don't see how they could not hurt him at least somewhat. But who knows, watch it debut at no. 1 and I could be proven completely wrong....

He has five: "All Falls Down", "Gold Digger", "Stronger", "Love Lockdown" and "Heartless". Plus he's been the featured/co-artist on: "Slow Jamz", "Swagga Like Us", "Heartless", "E.T.", "Forever", "American Boy", "Knock You Down", "***I'M RACIST***s In Paris", "Run This Town", and "FourFiveSeconds". And "Watch" will probably debut Top 10 as well. Kanye might chart with the troll song "Lift Yourself". Something tells me Kanye West's career is very much alive.

That's what people here have been debating a bit since this started happening. Getting featured on a song that debuted at #2 on the Spotify daily charts seems like a good indication that it is *not* having a negative effect. But IDK. Maybe people are just really starving to hear Lil Uzi Vert?

^I think it debuted at #2 because they are all hot mainstream artists in the hip-hop universe.
Furthermore, I think Kanye's return to twitter and him produly supporting Trump is all planned. As the media starts writing articles about him, he releases new music, as well as featuring on other songs. It's all some very weird PR.

Weeknd album bomb part 2 this friday. Okay at this point i can admit they're becoming a serious problem. I also believe that this is all an industry scheme to ensure that Mine never reaches the top ten

Had a busy couple of weeks at work and next thing I know I'm pages and pages behind on keeping up on here. Regarding the album bomb / streaming conversation, how about this idea? I don't use streaming (I still buy tracks) - so keep me honest and correct me if I am misunderstanding something.
I would argue that playing an entire album all the way through is not the same thing as clicking on every song because you want to hear that song. What makes the most sense to me theoretically would be: If a full album is clicked on and played all the way through then count that as a play for the BB200 and count each individual song listened to the same weight as a passive click for the Hot 100; yes the user heard that song so it should count for something but for some of the songs, they listened not because they really wanted to but rather they "tolerated" the song since they were in the process (and mindset) of listening to the full album. For each individual song that is clicked on and played, count that as an on-demand click for the Hot 100 since the user actively searched for and decided to play it. I know BB weights active and passive clicks differently but not sure how much so. But this system would still track overall plays and still account for the differences between how the user is consuming the music.
I believe now, if a user plays an album all the way through as a paid Spotify member for example, then all of the individual tracks are counted the same as an on - demand click, yes?
