"26 Cents" better make the Top 5, only thing I care about honestly. All great songs (except "Drinkin' Problem", don't understand the love for that one).

Finally got caught up with reading this! The bad news is that this "temp" job that started in July is showing no signs of ending...the good news is that I got a promotion with an $8 an hour raise! Makes working a little longer not as hard as it could be.
It's a really really good top 10...and I still have SEVEN songs in the running

The harmonica is prominently featured in Miranda Lambert's breakthrough hit "Kerosene", which is where this gif came from. The album version of this song opens with a harmonica solo... 10. Alabama - Mountain MusicTrack #1 from Mountain Music (1982) Written by Randy Owen Produced by Harold Shedd and Alabama Released to Radio on January 22, 1982 BB Hot Country Songs Peak: 1 BB Bubbling Under Hot 100 Peak: 1 Canada RPM Country Tracks Peak: 1 Canada RPM Adult Contemporary Tracks Peak: 1 Total Points: 277 (tied with #11) Average Rank: 18.4666666666667 Standard Deviation: 14.31216599 ( 3rd HIGHEST!) mamasaid - 1 fearlessarrow - 1 tim - 2 Cody Wants Out... - 4 someguy - 8 George Strait Junkie - 8 austin - 13 d3vin44 - 16 LBTrocks - 23 zaclord 🌈 - 26 .indulgecountry - 28 Kanenrá:ke - 35 g8erboi - 35 castleoblivion26 - 37 bboat11 - 40 Following: Troublemaker
Kicking off the top ten here is our very first song with multiple #1's! Unfortunately, there was roughly the same amount of low ranks as there were high ranks. :( This also brings back the 80s, ever since Restless Heart departed in the top 20 not too long ago. With that in mind, we now have only ONE song from the 80s remaining, The Judds' "Have Mercy". How far do you see it going?

“Mountain Music” is one of the most iconic songs of the early 80s that has no business leaving considering some of what’s remaining.

Oddly enough, this wasn't even a top ten contender until the very end, despite the #1 and the six other top tens (including a perfect ranking from our final list by LBTrocks)! castleoblivion26 should be ecstatic about this one leaving!

You have no idea. I really don't get the love for this one. I have never been able to really get into it or the band at all. Figured it would be in the Top 10 but I am so happy it is barely in!

Midland are fantastic and I am STILL mad at Little Big Town's team for scheduling the VIP M&G at a time that caused me to miss their ENTIRE set!

I am appalled that "Mountain Music" is a #10...Alabama defined 80s country..the song still rocks in concert (it's the encore) and is every bit as good 37 years later...which I know is significantly older than some of you

I wasn’t even born yet when this was a hit and I still find it to be every bit as good today even if it has been overplayed at radio (but that’s for a reason!).

Such a strong top 5!!!! "26 Cents" was the clear outlier for me out of the songs that were left... That one is still really good, but nowhere near as iconic as the songs in the top 5! Although "No News" can go now too...
Here's my prediction: 5. No News 4. Postcard From Paris 3. Leave The Pieces 2. She's Not The Cheating Kind 1. Want To

Rooting for a Sugarland, Wreckers, or Band Perry win. The Lonestar and B&D songs are acceptable tunes too though.

I fear "Want To" will win but I really hope it doesn't.
I want "Leave The Pieces" or "No News" to win, and since I know Lonestar doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell, I'm all in for The Wreckers at this point.

I'm hoping my ranks for "Leave The Pieces" and "Postcard from Paris" keep them from winning. Both are overrated. Would prefer to see Brooks & Dunn or Lonestar win, but would be okay with Sugarland winning, as long as those two don't

I would be ecstatic if "Want To" snatches the win. That song is in a league in its own. Definitely my favorite song of 2006, and one of my favorites of all time.

Alright everyone! Here's a sneak peek at the top five:* Only two songs have multiple #1's; one has four and the other has three. * The top two have some of the lowest SDs overall while the top three were pretty close in points. However, big gaps exist between #5 and #4 as well as #4 and #3. * #2 and #3 were strong #1 contenders throughout it's entire run until LBTrocks' final list shook things up! So there was no clear winner throughout submissions! :O * Two songs from the 90s and 00s a piece remain, while only one from the 10s remains. How far will the more recent song go?
