I just hope some of those people elsewhere aren’t the same people on HERE getting offended over people not feeling any remorse for his death.

This is supposed to be a place where making unnecessary unproductive attacks on an artist is at least frowned upon. Why do you feel like you need to say "f**k X". The man is dead. He's gone. People who cared about him are sad. What's flaunting your disdain for him accomplish? Other than pissing off the people who are feeling pain because of it. If you wrote what you wrote in a newspaper, that would be literal slander/libel. Have some decency. Take unnecessary hate somewhere else. YouTube comments seems like a good place. Maybe your Facebook wall? And I'm a transgirl too. If that matters to you. Not sure why you brought up how what I said would be taken if it was printed in a newspaper considering this clearly isn’t one. Not sure you can say fu ck you to others in a newspaper either. While I’m sorry that one of your favorite musicians died, people are allowed to have different opinions and they’re allowed to not be sad about a garbage human being dying, especially when it propels an awful song with blatantly manipulative lyrics to #1. That wasn’t an attack on his fans, although if you’re any indication maybe they’re not that great of people either. Anyways, I’m going to stop argueing with someone on the internet that clearly isn’t listening to me so I can take a shower and head over to my friend’s house. You can have fun defending a terrible person that you’ve never even met. I'm sorry I said "fuck you". I'm sorry if that was a personal attack. If I had walked away for like 10 minutes and came back, I would have probably left that part out. |

Maybe it's old fashion, emotional, or illogical of me, but I feel like there's a time to say things and a time to save it for later.

It's truly interesting how X reached his commercial peak only after he died. Is it safe to say that his death was bigger than his career? On the charts? Nah. But the week of his death will easily outperform any other week in his career. Including his two album takeovers. The same can be said about Prince. However, I guess you could say that if an artist's post-humous sales/streams/radio impressions eventually outnumber those that they had in life, I guess you could say that they are "more known for their death". And I'm sure that 2Pac, B.I.G., Nirvana and Aaliyah all qualify. Peep as well, of course. And XXX will probably join them soon in that distinction. But I guess it could also be argued that, eventually, given enough time, every artist will eventually have more posthumous streams/sales/impressions than they did in life? |
