B.B. Watson was one of the charter members of BNA Records. He signed in 1990. He released his debut single, Light At The End Of The Tunnel in July, 1991. That was the lead single and title track to his 1991 album. The single itself peaked at #23 in October. A second single was released in 1992 called Lover Not A Fighter (#43). Two more singles were released that year, but did not chart: Say Goodbye and Eye For An Eye. He managed to chart just one more time and that happened in 2000 with The Memory Is The Last Thing To Go (#73).

A fictitious bluegrass group became a one hit wonder in 2002. That would be The Soggy Bottom Boys with I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow. That came from the massively successful album, O Brother, Where Art Thou. The single was released in October, 2001 and peaked at #35 in April, 2002. The song won the C.M.A. Single of the Year in 2001 and the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration With Vocals.

Dave Loggins was becoming a one hit wonder at the same time he was becoming a hot songwriter in Nashville. He attained one hit wonder status via a duet with Anne Murray called Nobody Loves Me Like You Do. That was the lead single to Murray's 1984 album, Heart Over Mind. Released in August, it became Murray's ninth #1 country hit in December while topping off at #10 adult contemporary. She got further hits in 1985 with Time Don't Run Out On Me (#2 country, #11 A.C.) and I Don't Think I'm Ready For You (#7 country and #30 A.C.). As for Loggins, he charted one more time in country with another duet. That was called Just As Long As I Have You with Gus Hardin (#72 in 1985). Don Williams would have a hit with it in 1990 (#4).

The lead single was the title track. It was a remake of Owens' first chart topper in 1963. This version was a duet with Ringo Starr, one quarter of the Beatles. The Beatles recorded Act Naturally in 1965. The duet version was released in July and peaked at #27 in August. It was Owens' 75th and final top 40 hit while becoming the only one for Starr. Johnny Cash's first #1 was I Walk The Line in 1956. The b-side was Get Rhythm. Cash would later rerecord the tune in 1969 with some 'live effects' thrown in for good measure. That version peaked at #23. Fast forward twenty-one years. Martin Delray signed to Atlantic Records. His debut album was released in 1991 called Get Rhythm. The title track was the lead single. Released in February, it peaked at #27 in May. Cash even makes an appearance on the track. Delray would chart two more singles off the album: Lillie's White Lies (#58) and Who, What, Where, When, Why, How (#51 in 1992). He released one more album for Atlantic called What Kind Of Man in 1992. The title track was his swan song and that peaked at #61. Delray was dropped by Atlantic in 1993.

Western Flyer was a sextet that signed to Step One Records in 1993. They released their self-titled debut album in 1994. Five singles were pulled between 1994-1995. They released their second album, Back In America in 1996. Lead single, What Will You Do With M-E was released in July. It peaked at #32 in October. Two more singles did not chart. They are: Wish You Were Here and Lost In You. The album features their version of Sixteen Tons (#1 for Tennessee Ernie Ford in 1955). They could have landed a hit with She Wants To Be Wanted Again. Instead, that went to Ty Herndon (#21 in 1997). Western Flyer disbanded in 1997.

Petula Clark is best known for her pop hits during the 1960s like Downtown (#1 in 1965) and My Love (#1 in 1966). However, she did have a country side to her. She signed her only country contract with Scotti Brothers in 1981. She released her debut single for them called Natural Love. Released in January 1982, it peaked at #20 in April. I am guessing this was a promo single because I can't find an album from which the single was released. Natural Love also peaked at #66 pop and #24 adult contemporary. It was her only country chart appearance.

I can't believe anyone has talked about this one yet. This was a #2 hit from 2002. Tommy Shane Steiner hit #2 on the May 25, 2002 chart with his only single to hit the top 40, "What If She's An Angel".

Great job, CoJoFan. Great selection! Are you ready for three versions of the same song? Only one made the top 40 on the country chart. The song is Butterfly Kisses. That was first released by Bob Carlisle. His version peaked at #45 country and #1 adult contemporary. Then The Raybon Brothers released their version. The most famous Raybon in the duo was Marty Raybon, who left Shenandoah to form the short-lived duo. They signed to MCA Records in 1996. They issued their self-titled debut album in 1997. Butterfly Kisses was the lead single. Released in May, it peaked at #37 in June. It also peaked at #22 pop. If that wasn't enough, Jeff Carson released his version shortly after The Raybon Brothers peaked. His version peaked at #66 country. Getting back to The Raybon Brothers, they charted just one more time with The Way She's Lookin', which hit #64. A duet with Olivia Newton-John called Falling did not chart. Another one for you. This individual is more famously known for his acting but on the July 26, 1980 chart Clint Eastwood teamed with the legendary Merle Haggard to take the song "Bar Room Buddies" to #1.

I hate to break this to you, but Clint Eastwood is not a one hit wonder in country music. His second and final hit, Make My Day was a duet with T.G. Sheppard. Sheppard released an album in 1983 called Slow Burn. The title track was the lead single. That topped the chart in January, 1984 and became his lucky thirteenth #1 hit. Make My Day was released in February. It peaked at #12 in April. It was a crossover hit, peaking at #62 pop and #36 adult contemporary. A third single, Somewhere Down The Line carried Sheppard to #3 during the summer. I am including a video for Make My Day and Bar Room Buddies. Enjoy! Artists-T.G. onebuffalo No. I didn't realize he had another hit with T.G. Sheppard. Coincidentally I've started collecting all of T.G.'s albums from Amazon.

Three from his Warner Bros. years and one from Columbia. I know there is another that covers hits from BOTH labels. However, the titles are arranged alphabetically.

Sonya Isaacs was signed to Lyric Street between 1999-2004. She issued her self-titled debut album in 2000. Three singles charted between 1999-2000. A second album was to be released called Pictures Of Me. However, Lyric Street shelved it and issued a promo single only. That was No Regrets Yet and that was released in November, 2003. It peaked at #36 in February, 2004. Vince Gill produced the Sonya Isaacs album, so I am guessing he is the producer here. If someone knows who is the producer of No Regrets Yet, I will amend the post.

Ricky Lynn Gregg signed to the Liberty label in 1992. He released his self-titled debut album in 1993. Lead single, If I Had A Cheatin' Heart was a remake of the Mel Street hit of 1978 (#9). Gregg's version was released in February and peaked at #36 in June. The second single, Can You Feel It peaked at #58. Two more singles were released, but did not chart: Three Nickels And A Dime and No Place Left To Go. He managed to chart once more and that was the title track to his 1994 album, Get A Little Closer (#73).
