Not sure if you'd be willing to wait for me, but just wanted to let you know that I'm halfway through with my list (and I plan on getting the other half done when I wake up tomorrow morning). I should be done by noon EDT. I’m cool w/that, send it in :)

My favorite thing about 80s rankdowns is that there are no Becky posters who'd ruin the result.

My favorite thing about 80s rankdowns is that there are no Becky posters who'd ruin the result. Plus there were hardly any Becky songs in the 80s.

Lady In Red and that terrible remake of Funkytown better be very low.

4 Extras
Riding high on the success of a US chart-topper, Simply Red released its follow-up in 1987. The album opener, the exuberant The Right Thing, was a jam - an unabashed celebration of getting down and dirty.
Dead Or Alive made a repeat appearance in the Top 40 with another high NRG floor filler. Brand New Lover followed the SAW-formula of the previous You Spin Me Round.
After charting for years down under, John Farnham joined Little River Band in the mid-80s. Reviving his solo career in 1986, he released You’re The Voice, which shot to the top of the Australian charts. An anthem of sorts, it inspires people to make their voices heard. Its album remains the second-best selling album in the country’s history.
Scottish trio, Danny Wilson, was best known for the 1987 hit, Mary’s Prayer. It reached #23 in the US, but wasn’t successful on the UK charts until its third release the following year. Success was short-lived as the band broke up in 1991. The song was revived in the 1998 comedy, There’s Something About Mary.

Lol wow, I wasn't expecting much from this but I didn't anticipate it doing this badly. I don't think it's that bad either. Or is it just that no actors dabbling in music in the 80's is taken seriously on Pulse?

Meh, Respect Yourself is not that bad honestly. It's just there for me.

Relatively speaking, Respect Yourself is cool in the context of pre-Die Hard era Bruce Willis.

For the record, I do think that the fact that it's an actor performing "Respect Yourself" helped to tank it, but I would have had it low regardless of whether it was Bruce Willis or some no name performing the song. I think it's just a pretty poorly done cover.
"Ballerina Girl" is a deserving #100. Insipid beyond words...and yet, I thought two songs were worse. One will not surprise anyone. The other probably won't, either, if you know what tends to land in my bottom five.

Aww, Can’t We Try deserved better. Doesn’t compare to the Rockell remake, though, now does it?

I'll admit that some of these cheesy ballads that I ranked fairly high (or at least in the middle) may or may not be due to familiarity. Nothing too painful yet imo, other than Chicago or maybe Atlantic Starr. And even those two I can understand being out already to an extent.

LOL at Ballerina Girl being #100 without any #100 vote.
I was hoping a little better for Can We Try and where is the monument to cheessiness that is Songbird?

Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You Glenn Medeiros
Total Points: 543
Billboard Hot 100: 12
Billboard Top 100 of 1987: 85
From: Glenn Medeiros
Another cover (of a George Benson song from 1985), this was a modest hit in the US, reaching No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. It hit No. 1 in Canada, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Spain and the UK and was featured in episode's of Days Of Our Lives as well as The Bold And The Beautiful, As The World Turns and General Hospital.
With this we see our first Top 20 fall...sorry 🇯🇲 lucy88 🇯🇲 ! Booo! Love this song from my childhood.😢

Always Atlantic Starr
Total Points: 598
Billboard Hot 100: 1(1)
Billboard Top 100 of 1987: 14
From: All In The Name Of Love
This Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 was released in May of 1987 as the second single from the album All In The Name Of Love. It also topped the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and the Canadian RPM 100 charts. Another song from my childhood out so soon.

Was massively underwhelmed with "Carrie" as I love me a good classic rock ballad. And this was even after about five listens?
