Damn, so close. "Take Me to Texas" is head-and-shoulders above anything else on this record for sure. Shame it came up short of the win here. "Cold Beer Conversation" was the expected/predictable winner though so I'm not even surprised.

Four perfect rankings in a row including seeing my #1 win the rankdown! "Cold Beer Conversation" is such a smooth and easy going song to listen along with so I'm happy to see it come out ahead as the winner. "Take Me To Texas" is a surefire jam and might be my favorite song he's recorded about his home state...I also often forget that the song was co-written by Brandy Clark. Thanks again for getting this rankdown started bboat11 and looking forward to the others! |

I like the whole album, but "It Was Love" is so damn gorgeous!
"Goin' Goin Gone" is SUCH a jam!
"Take Me To Texas" is amazing! LOVE that chorus!!
"Cold Beer Conversation" is also fantastic.
GREAT top 5!!! But like I said, all the songs on this album are so damn good so I was not going to be that disappointed no matter what tbh

Sorry for the delay with this!!! With 2013, The Way That I Am, and Revenge of the Best all due at around the same time, I have been dragging my feet a little with this one... I didn't want to overload people. However, now that 2/3 of those are finished and the last one is starting, I feel like I can safely make some more progress with this one now  So without further ado, here is our next set!

I am really getting excited to see the results of these two albums! I feel like if I ranked these albums again six months from now, my ranks could be totally different because the vast majority of these songs are just that fantastic.

Not totally submerged anymore, my 'temp' job finally ended after 5 months...so home with a 'to-do' list...hosting a tamale making party tomorrow to making the fillings today along with muffins for the grandkids. So my participation is related to playing 35 years of George Strait in the background...
I'll be watching the results.

3) Which songs belong in the top 5? Most, this was a pretty solid album. Theres only 2 I am not huge fans of it

Thank you to those of you who posted predictions! I'm going to go ahead and start this now :) This album really didn't have a last place contender. In fact, there was a tie for last place until BackwoodsBarbie's final list! The song to finish in last place is mostly there through sheer dumb luck. Only 12 points separate the entire bottom half of this album!!!  In fact, only 16 points separate the #10 from the #5!!! This album was neck-and-neck for the entire submission process! |

"The Steal Of The Night" deserved no part of this last-place position... This song tells a clever story in a clever way, and the production is delightfully interesting despite how dated it is. I love the little drum fills throughout the song... Lol. However, as I mentioned before, this battle for last place was insanely close, and this one just happened to be the unlucky one to fall short. It is clear that this position is not so much a condemnation of the song as much as it is a testament to how strong the album as a whole is.
