Thanks bboat11 for a great rankdown. Great to see DD get some love. Outside of a song or two, there were some good discoveries. Enjoy your weekend!

The competition between these two songs was fierce!!!! As you can see, they swapped places between #1 and #2 for pretty much the entire submission process, always staying within a couple points of each other. When you have two super well-loved songs in a Rankdown like this, there is much less room for them to separate from each other than there was in like the singles rd, where IHE was #20 and CYON was #10. Anyway, both of these songs are iconic af, so I am super excited to see them hold their own against each other and have such an exciting battle! Hopefully they both do really well in their respective BotB/RotB rankdowns next

I would've been happy either way but honestly didn't expect it to be even close at all! It being only two points apart was pretty exciting. Thanks for hosting bboat11! 😁

Damnit, Tay. I prefer the obvious but correct winner, so I'm glad I put it where it should be at the final second.

For tim and anyone else who cares, I just updated the OP for the first time in like a year with the results from this whole series. None of the '90s results were there, but they should all be now! So if anyone needs to look back over their favorite album's results again, it's all right there on the first page!

Y'all always go to bed at like 7pm in your time zones, so you leave me with very few options..... You mean to tell me I managed to be around for each one of the reveals until the very end when you decided to change it up?! UGH! Anyways... I wasn't surprised at all that these were the five songs to make the top 5 nor did the top two come as a shock. The only thing to really figure out is in which order the first three songs would exit lol. Given that "The Best Day" has always had a few vocal detractors on Pulse, I figured that would likely be the first song to exit. For those that may not remember, this was actually a rather big hit for George in 2000 as it spent three weeks atop the chart. And as bboat11 pointed out, it still maintains quite a bit of recurrent airplay to this day. I initially had "Designated Drinker" ranked in my top three I believe and I now almost regret bumping it out of my top five altogether. This has always been a favorite amongst the diehard fans of both George and Alan and one that most of us wish Arista had released as a single (especially instead of "Work in Progress"). I'm sure there are reasons unknown to us as to why it was never released and its likely the two labels couldn't come to some type of agreement. I have no doubt this would've likely been a #1 hit had it been released though. "Murder On Music Row" was one of the harder songs for me to rank. While it's truly an iconic song and duet, it just has never been one that I casually want to put on and usually only listen to it when it comes up in a rankdown. For some reason I thought this might struggle a bit to make the top five, but it ended up garnering more support than I would've guessed. The top two songs were much closer than I ever would've thought! I just assumed that "Check Yes or No" was going to be a runaway winner and that didn't turn out to be the case at all. It actually would've been something to see both of the songs tie, but this was really going to be the only rankdown where CYON stood a chance to win and it's a well-deserved one at that. "I Hate Everything" has also gone on to become one of George's iconic hits of the 2000s and still receives ample amount of recurrent airplay as well. Anyways, thank you taylor is terrified for allowing the correct song to win Thanks again, bboat11!
