Holding My Own Rankdown: Results Time!
Final Participant List: (12)
1. tim2. George Strait Junkie3. gardyfan4. bboat115. castleoblivion266. gonecountry7. .indulgecountry8. fearlessarrow9. ClevelandRox10. taylor is terrified11. Kanenrá:ke12. Cody Wants Out...This is officially closed!! Unless somebody tries to slip me a list sometime in the VERY near future, aka, by the time I wake up in the morning.... In the meantime, I'd love to hear some predictions! Especially about the album tracks, since this album really got cut short in the singles department :)
Questions to get us started:
1) What will be #1?
2) What will be #10?
3) Which songs belong in the top 5?
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing?
5) Which of the singles will place highest? Where will it place? (Gone As A Girl Can Get, So Much Like My Dad)
6) Do any of the singles have a chance of missing the top 5?
7) What will be the highest-placing album track? Where will it place?
8) Which album tracks would you prefer to see do the best?
9) Any other thoughts/predictions?

1) What will be #1? Really no clue on this one. This album just felt different to me that many of his others. Could a non-single win? Probably not, I'm guessing Gone as a Girl Can Get
2) What will be #10? You're Right, I'm Wrong?
3) Which songs belong in the top 5? "Gone as a Girl Can Get" "So Much Like My Dad" "It's Alright with Me" "Faults and All" "Trains Make Me Lonesome"
4) What song will be most polarizing? Least polarizing? Most - title track or perhaps "So Much"? Least "Gone"
5) Which of the singles will place highest? Where will it place? (Gone As A Girl Can Get, So Much Like My Dad) Gone at #1
6) Do any of the singles have a chance of missing the top 5? given there were only two, no.
7) What will be the highest-placing album track? Where will it place? Well, #3 at least. I'm hoping for It's Alright at #2
8) Which album tracks would you prefer to see do the best? above
9) Any other thoughts/predictions? again, what the hell w/ the album cover?!? I liked the album more after a couple listens. The first listen was a bit disjointed

1) What will be #1? If there was a time when an album track could win a rankdown this would be the one, but I still think thats unlikely as “Gone as a Girl Can Get” will probably come out on top
2) What will be #10? “All of Me (Loves All of You)”
3) Which songs belong in the top 5? The albums two singles “So Much Like My Dad” and “Gone As a Girl Can Get” along with the title track, “Wonderland of Love”, and “Trains Make Me Lonesome”
4) What song will be most polarizing? “So Muck Like My Dad” or maybe "You're Right I'm Wrong" Least polarizing? “Gone as a Girl Can Get” or a random album track
5) Which of the singles will place highest? Where will it place? Probably “Gone as a Girl Can Get” but “So Much Like My Dad” is the far superior song
6) Do any of the singles have a chance of missing the top 5? Unlikely
7) What will be the highest-placing album track? Where will it place? I’m going to guess the title track and in the top four
8) Which album tracks would you prefer to see do the best? “Trains Make Me Lonesome” for sure as it’s long been a favorite of mine as is the title track
9) Any other thoughts/predictions? This is very much an underrated album that gets overlooked due in part to the era being overshadowed by Pure Country. This would also be the final studio album to feature the Ace in the Hole Band as they appear on both “Gone as a Girl Can Get” and “It’s Alright with Me”.

Really hoping my top 3 can stick around as those are really the only songs I truly enjoy from this one. Something was just off for me with this album.

I certainly wouldn't have expected anyone to put that as their top song, but you do you castleoblivion26! I had predicted this would exit first, however, so no surprise that it did.

I am absolutely DECEASED to see this song get a #1. castleoblivion26 , did you accidentally listen to the wrong album? "All Of Me (Loves All Of You)" is the one mediocre song on this stellar record imo. It is a huge outlier on this album sonically, mostly because of its jazzy swing ballad style. This series has given plenty of documentation to prove that I am not a huge fan of that style, but I will admit that "All Of Me" is one of George's better attempts at that style Unfortunately castleoblivion26 loses his #1 right off the bat, giving taylor is terrified a break from being our primary flop.

I suppose Jimmy Bowen wanted to leave one last mark here as George always seemed to include a jazz-infused swing style type of song and this one pretty much encompasses that. I've always happened to enjoy these kind of songs, though, so because of that it managed to escape last place.

She’s about as low as a girl can go. She ain’t got far to fall. When she hits the ground, I’m gonna be around ‘Cause I want her most of all. And when all’s been said and done, I’m gonna be the one Who’ll hang around and take her, faults and all.

One thing I like most about this album is that it's a rather enjoyable listen that isn't really ballad heavy (save for "So Much Like My Dad"). "Faults and All" embodies that kind of easy listening sound that is found throughout much of it...before I know it my foot is tapping along with it and I'm humming along with the words.

I'd say this is all the commentary that needs to be said about this song! I won't add anything! Lol It is a good song, that makes sense to be leaving already because it is just kinda there. It is good and lightweight and easy to listen to, but still falls short of some of the better uptempo album tracks like "Wonderland Of Love" and "You're Right I'm Wrong".

For our final song to miss the album tracks rankdown, we say goodbye to the album closer "Here We Go Again". There isn't a whole lot to say about this one other than I have always enjoyed it. The musical arrangement is pretty unique (like, how about that weird guitar riff that kicks off the whole song?) I really enjoy George's delivery here too. It isn't one of my all-time faves from this album, but I do enjoy it when it comes on.
You might have noticed that all of these songs in the bottom 3 flirted with last place quite a bit. This is one of the least agreed-upon albums we have seen from this album series so far! All of these songs have rankings that are all over the place, lol. This one even has two last places and three #3s, but doesn't manage to be one of our most polarizing songs...
