I was a fan of Lauren before but this song truly deserves a Grammy nod for song or record of the year! I know it’s highly unlikely but this song has exceeded all expectations. She deserves all the best and I’m an even bigger fan now! Her and Natalie Grant have to be the 2 best female vocalists in Christian music history. If you don’t believe me about Natalie go check out her song “In Better Hands”. You won’t be disappointed. I have never been a Natalie Grant fan. She has a couple decent songs, but mostly doesn't interest me vocally or lyrically like Lauren does.

I have been a fan since Her first single How can it Be this is wonderfully surreal That she could crossover as someone like Amy Grant cheering her on

This is really starting to pick up on HAC! I was just reading a billboard article about how it is most added at HAC stations! Even more that Camila's "new" single!

18 weeks on the Hot 100 now! And probably soon to be 19. It's incredible. And it's still top 10 on iTunes. I wonder if Billboard will let it stay on past 20 weeks. They do it for some songs if they're still increasing on radio.

This song is really powerful. I like that there are many Christian songs that go beyond their respective format and reach many more people!

Officially going to pop radio.
The haters are out for Lauren, and they are likely gonna get louder with this.

"You Say" makes it to week #21 on Hot 100! This was by far a highlight on the Hot 100 considering this was one of the absolute WORST Hot 100/ Bubbling Unders in a very long time. (The handful of Christmas songs were nice too!)

It's been fun to watch this songs chart run so far. With pop radio starting to build up, I could see this being absolutely massive in 2019. Here's to hoping!

This is a great song, but my question is how in the world it wound up as the #1 song of 2018? True, it had twelve weeks at #1 on the last chart of the year and 19 weeks both in the Top Ten and Top 20. Right below, at #2, we have MercyMe with Grace Got You, also #1 for twelve weeks, but in the Top Ten for 21 and Top 20 for 25. IMO, that was rightfully the top song of the year. The only logical explanation is that either its number of plays during its #1 weeks were immense, or they gave projected points to "You Say". Or maybe they decided MercyMe had been at #1 for the year too many times and decided to give the spot to Lauren Daigle.
Any other ideas?

If it includes anything other than airplay, "You Say" had it in the bag. If sales, streaming, or crossover airplay are taken into consideration, then that's how it ended up at #1. If it's just Christian airplay, then it must've just had more total spins during its weeks at #1 (and other weeks). Also, is it Christian Airplay #1? Or Christian AC #1? If it's Christian Airplay, then CHR spins should also count, right? Maybe that was the deciding factor.

Cory Asbury's "Reckless Love" is #1 on Billboard for both. Unless I'm seeing wrong. "You Say" is #8 on Airplay, and #2 on sales, and she's #2 on Hot Christian Songs on Billboard.

This is honestly growing on me.
In some ways, she reminds me of Adele with that voice.

Hot 100 Predictions: #36 (+23) Is that a new peak? And other than Christmas songs clearing out, why the big jump? I don't follow the Hot 100 much 😜

Along with that, the two album bombs from 21 Savage and A Boogie wit da Hoodie should leave. And yes, it will be, as its peak is #44. It could actually make the year-end list for 2019, and that would be quite impressive.

“Still Rolling Stones” has been in the new and active section on the CHR chart for the past 2 weeks so it makes me wonder if it will be the CHR single and “Look Up Child” the Airplay/AC single even though it’s charting on CHR too.

I thought of this too, but Lauren is also just white hot right now and "Still Rolling Stones" was performed on Ellen awhile ago so I believe its selling/streaming well last I checked, so CHR may just be playing an album track pretty furiously. Either way, SRS is surely going to be a single on some format at some point. I think both it and "Look Up Child" work on both AC and CHR though, so I hope it's not a split release. Just release SRS third to both formats.

Idk what Hervard was talking about then 🤷♂️ It was #1 on 20 The Countdown Magazine's year end chart (2018). Wups. I forgot to mention that - 20: The Countdown Magazine was what I was talking about. I have no idea how 20: TCM figures their year-end charts. As I said before, it must have had an enormous amount of points during its #1 weeks, but even then, since it came along as late in the year as it did, it wouldn't have had as much of an opportunity to rack up more spins than the MercyMe song, so that's why I speculated about giving the song projected points - if that were the case, then no question would this song be #1 for the year. And, again, this was 20: The Countdown Magazine that I was talking about.

So is it 100 weeks on the chart or 100 weeks at #1?

Hello to the Jesus Jamz forum! I'm not around these parts often at all but goodness, seeing this, I had to come make an appearance. I've adored this song for years and I'm gobsmacked at the history it has made. 112 weeks on the chart and 100 of those at #1?!?! WOW. That's something we're never going to see again, and I commend Lauren in the highest degree. This success is beyond deserved!
