What?! I was listening to 1966 on the way home from work and heard “Monday, Monday,” “When a Man Loves a Woman,” “Paint it Black,” and “Paperback Writer” in a row. All are classics. Also #1 that year were songs like “You Can’t Hurry Love,” “The Sound of Silence,” “We Can Work it Out,” “Good Vibrations,” etc. Any year would be fortunate to have so many songs still known over 40 years later. Yes, there were definitely some classics but there were a lot that I had never heard before that I did not like. I am excited to hear the songs from the 90s and 00s. My channel 3 is still Venus? Right now it's playing Nelly/Kelly's Dilemma... |

Luis Fonsi Celebrates 'Despacito' Returning to No. 1 on Hot Latin Songs Chart

The song extends its record to 53 weeks leading the chart.
Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," featuring Justin Bieber has re-emerged in Hot Latin Songs and takes over the No. 1 spot, once again.
The song made the return for the first time since April and has extended its record to 53 weeks atop of the chart. According to Nielsen Music, the single was supported after earning 15.9 million U.S. streams.
After the good news, Luis Fonsi took to social media to celebrate, writing: "80 weeks ... and here we are. This week it [Despacito] went back to # 1. Many will say that madness, I say ... what a blessing."

I'm listening to the Billboard channel now. I'm not sure if it's in order or not but they just said June 1998.
Edit: Yes they are going in order. Excited for the 00s to start.

The medley is the icon’s second No. 1 remixed classic this year. Plus, moves for Zedd, Marshmello & more.
Diana Ross rules Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart (dated Aug. 4) for the second time this year, and for the sixth time in her legendary career, as "I'm Coming Out/Upside Down 2018" rises 2-1. Upon hearing the news, Ross exclaimed to Billboard, "Thank you, thank you, thank you, for so many blessings."
The medley, remixed by Eric Kupper, Chris Cox and StoneBridge, among others, follows another remixed Ross classic, "Ain't No Mountain High Enough 2017," which led the Jan. 20-dated list. With titles reversed as "Upside Down"/"I'm Coming Out" (two separate songs, although one listing, per chart rules at the time, as opposed to the current mash-up), Ross spent five weeks at No. 1 in 1980.

Ross’ other three Dance Club Songs leaders: "Take Me Higher" (1995), "Swept Away" (1984) and "The Boss" (all cuts, 1979). Those are included among her 10 top 10s and 19 chart entries, dating to the arrival of "Your Love Is So Good for Me/Top of the World" on Oct. 15, 1977, ultimately peaking at No. 15. Speaking of Zedd, the DJ/producer, teaming with singer Elley Duhe, scores his 10th Hot Dance/Electronic Songs top 10, zooming 26-9 with "Happy Now," following the song's first full week of release. Duhe's first top 10, "Happy" earned 4.4 million U.S. streams and sold 9,000 downloads in the tracking week ending July 26, according to Nielsen Music. Concurrently, the track debuts at No. 3 on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales and No. 15 on Dance/Electronic Streaming Songs.
NO. 1 FOR A SPELL: On Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Marshmello and Anne-Marie return to the top for a fourth frame at No. 1 with "Friends." Plus, Au/Ra earns her first top 10 and CamelPhat, its second, with "Panic Room" (13-9).
