Drakes first three albums are classics. Anything from Views to Scorpion are mediocre and forgettable with only hits as standout tracks.

Drake's artist discussion thread is feeling like y'all are cheating on it right now with the Hot 100 thread.

Songs like Fire and desire, teenage fever, do not disturb, feel no ways, redemption, jaded, lose you get Frank Ocean levels of praise on social media every week.

Drake is not a critical darling either. At Least Eminem will retire with at least 3 classic albums. Drake will retire with classic memes So Far Gone, Take Care, Nothing Was the Same - all classic projects. he has a classic mixtape thats it

Imagine:
Rihanna x Drake x Post Malone.
Now that would be a 20+ week, Global,number-one smash.
I think a collaboration between Drake x Ed Sheeran would smash but one with Rihanna x Ed Sheeran would smash harder.
Personally, I don't think either Drake or Rihanna would EVER work with Ed Sheeran.

Shape of You was originally written for Rihanna I think.

Aside from Views and Scorpion, all of Drake's projects have received positive critical reception. Both of those albums received positive reviews overall.

Something tells me a song with two superstars would be big at first but not sustain longevity. I think the best way to have a successful collab is if you have a current superstar working with a popular-ish established artist. Cardi B/Maroon 5 is a perfect example of this working imo. IDK why but I feel like a Post Malone/5 Seconds of Summer collab would be big too.

That project gets love from people online like crazy. Some people even call it the project before he dropped off artistically. Views and Scorpion are really the only two Drake projects that have ever gotten mixed reviews and people have grown to love and appreciate Views more now. Same thing is already happening with Scorpion.

Loads of songs off his albums get massive praise online.

I don't think they'd ever work with Ed either. Especially Drake, if we're keeping it a buck. Drake doesn't really work with pop stars. He's only ever worked with one pop star and that's Rihanna and that's because they were romantically involved through most of their collabs. He's worked with the Weeknd, but their last collab was in 2013, years before he made his pop breakout. He's worked with Beyoncè once (I guess you could call her a pop star, too?) and then he's worked with Justin Timberlake once. He's reached this height of commercial dominance without working with pop stars and I don't think he's about to start now. He turned down a Mark Ronson collab. He was rumoured to work with Katy Perry and Taylor Swift at different times - rumors that had some actual truth to them, but those songs never came to fruition. He legit ducks working with pop stars, it's hilarious, especially in the last 5 years of his career. He turns everyone down - except Rihanna, who he worked with in 2016. It's funny how technically, Kendrick Lamar has worked with more pop stars than Drake has: Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, Dido, Imagine Dragons, Robin Thicke, The Weeknd, Sia, etc.

Delicate has had a pretty nice run in the Top 20, I think it's been here for something like 9 weeks?

Justin Bieber (Right Here) Lenny Kravitz (Sunflower) Alicia Keys (Fireworks) Jorja Smith (two songs on More Life) Michael Jackson (DMTM) It's totally possible that he does a song with Post Malone, Bruno Mars or Ariana Grande at some point. Ed Sheeran is more doubtful.

Ed Sheeran is more doubtful. Oh yes, forgot about those songs. I highly doubt he'll collaborate with any of those names you mentioned. Drake literally doesn't need to do pop collabs anymore even more so now that pop has taken the backseat to rap commercially. If you notice, there aren't as many dancehall/pop flavoured songs on Scorpion as they were on Views/More Life. More R&B songs if anything. I think he'll continue down that path. He scored three #1's with rap songs and if he didn't see a reason to collab with those people before, he definitely won't see a reason to now.

Damn This Is America is #95 in it's 16th week, it's gone next week for sure. Even songs like Look What You Made Me Do and Ready For It managed to reach 20 weeks with an awful reception.
You know, the video is great but the song is not really that good so I'm not entirely surprised. Definitely some of Gambino's weakest work to date.

^Ya, I still think "Hold It Against Me" had a more underwhelming performance for a #1 single and it only lasted 17 weeks on the chart, and was #60 for the year end chart
This Is America - #1 for 2 weeks, 4 weeks top 5, 5 weeks top 10, 7 weeks top 20, 12 weeks top 50 Hold It Against Me - #1 for 1 week, 1 week top 5, 5 weeks top 10, 8 weeks top 20, 10 weeks top 50
