That was so hard and honestly I feel rude about some of my ranks. I went back and forth on my #1 rank a few times. I really don't feel like there's an obvious winner here - even narrowing it down to her biggest iconic songs leaves at least like 3.

That was so hard and honestly I feel rude about some of my ranks. I went back and forth on my #1 rank a few times. I really don't feel like there's an obvious winner here - even narrowing it down to her biggest iconic songs leaves at least like 3. I agree. I think my entire top 25 are songs I love/really like, and my top 35 or so I like all of them. She is so amazing. |

So pumped for this! This was honestly the easiest and hardest rankdown I've done. It's the only one I've done where I could look at every song and immediately hear it in my head without a second thought, but ALL her music is so stupidly delicious, how does one rank her music easily lol.

1. What song do you think could be our #1? Unlike a lot of artist rankdowns I think there's plenty of competitors for the top spot. Recency will help power "A Little Bit Stronger" to the top imo. 2. What other songs do you expect to see in the top 5? "Suds In The Bucket", "I Could Not Ask For More", "Born To Fly", "Cheatin"? There's about 5 more I think stand a good chance. 3. What song do you think could be last place (#40)? Was going to say a Christmas song but "You're Gonna Go" is my guess. 4. What other songs do you expect to see in the bottom 5? SO excited for this one!!! 1. What song do you think could be our #1? I think it will come down to "A Real Fine Place To Start" versus "A Little Bit Stronger". ARFPTS will probably take it, just because it has proven to be so indomitable in rankdowns already. 2. What other songs do you expect to see in the top 5? "Born To Fly", "I Could Not Ask For More", and "Suds In The Bucket". 3. What song do you think could be last place (#40)? It'll probably be "I'll Be Home For Christmas". Maybe "Infinite Love" too, but tbh nothing is bad enough for last place in this rankdown... 4. What other songs do you expect to see in the bottom 5? "At Christmas", "You're Gonna Go", and "Shame About That". 5. Which album cut/non-country-radio-single do you think will end up placing the highest? "Missing Missouri" for sure, although "Can't Stop Loving You" should also do very well. 6. Which of her 8 album eras do you think will be totally eliminated first? Definitely her debut. As widely-praised as that album is, the rest of her albums are just too strong for that one to compare favorably. Same thing for all the singles from that album. "Three Chords and the Truth" will help that album to survive a good 10-15 positions higher than it otherwise would have, helping it to compete with some of her newer eras, but I still see it being the first album to leave. The only other scenario I see is if "Marquee Sign" leaves just before TCATT, making Words be the first album to leave. 7. Which of the 4 Christmas songs do you think will survive longest? Probably "Go Tell It On The Mountain", but it definitely should be "New Again". 8. Do you think your #1 rank has a chance at winning? Well, it should... Realistically though, I think it will have to settle for #4 at best (no thanks to castleoblivion26). ALBS and ARFPTS will prove to be too big of a juggernaut to beat, and I think that "Born To Fly" might also be able to sneak ahead. I think it should be a pretty safe bet for the top 5 though! 9. Any other predictions/thoughts? I predict the Born To Fly era is going to totally dominate... It is possible that "I Keep Looking" or "Saints & Angels" could miss the top 10, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see all 4 singles make the top 10, and at least 2 of them in the top 5. And even in the worst case scenario, I still see that album having a higher average score than any of the other albums! All the other albums will have at least one song that finishes semi-low, whereas I would be shocked to see the first BTF single any lower than the top 15. |
