Also wtf is a Todd Chrisley... He needs to stay away from singing. Sara could not save that song all on her own Doesn't he and his family have some reality TV show? I know a couple of friends of mine who love it and have it on a lot when I'm visiting them -_- he's annoying and his voice sucks.

Rounding out our bottom 5 we have one more Christmas song out, which means only one of the four managed to escape. "At Christmas," the title track to Sara Evans' holiday record from 2014, was unfortunately on the unlucky side of that as it lands here. The most rousing and upbeat of her holiday selections for the rankdown, this song about the joys of friends and family filling the house during the winter months is delivered with spunk and captures the spirit of the season well. Despite this, it falls victim to the Grinch complex of Pulse collectively ranking Christmas tunes lower than most, and with a discography as stacked as Sara Evans... it comes as no surprise to see this one make an early exit. No one loses a #40 here, but yet another big group of bottom 10s are, while a pair of top 20s are lost as well. "Snow is fallin' My heart's a-singin' Here's a toast to the joy it's bringing Nothing is better Than all of us together at Christmas"

Well I guess I ranked all of these songs for nothin! But I’ll still follow along.
#40 Infinite Love (Shooter, #38) - MEH AF.
#39 I’ll Be Home for Christmas (Shooter, #31) - I typically hate Xmas songs but her vocal on this won me over.
#38 Go Tell It on the Mountain (Shooter, #39) - MEH AF x2
#37 You’re Gonna Go (Shooter, #29) - I could tell it was a dusty old tune but I didn’t hate it.
#36 At Christmas (Shooter, #31) - the production on this one was fun!

Okay I gotta fix something cause SHOOTER disappeared from my spreadsheet so I hadn't been including his ranks in the reveals. Sorry y'all. Gonna update everything tonight, but it probably didn't affect the bottom 5 anyway tbh.

Infinite Love - I'm surprised I had this song as high as I did...though if I'm being completely honest I can't even remember how the song goes now without going back and listening to it. Must be pretty forgettable, but not bad enough to put it below the Christmas songs and a few others lol.
As far as the Christmas songs go, I tend to rank them low on any rankdown just because, unless we're in the Christmas season, I don't really like to think about them lol.
You're Gonna Go was an easy #40 for me. I know it's from the early 90's, but even then it sounds terribly dated and even the video looks extremely dated. Sara's vocals are also nowhere near where they got to later on in her career. There was just nothing about this song that I liked.
At Christmas - Easily my favorite Christmas song of Sara's. Even though it's not one of the traditional Christmas songs, it makes me happy and fits in perfectly with her discography.

#40 Infinite Love - I don't hate this like most do, but it does belong near the bottom of this list. I'd love to hear this with a better male duet partner one day.
#39 I’ll Be Home for Christmas - I hate Christmas music and this one did nothing for me.
#38 Go Tell It on the Mountain - For a Christmas song this is okay, but I don't ever need to hear it again.
#37 You’re Gonna Go - The dated production ruins it but I find it interesting to hear her in her early days so it got spared from the bottom.
#36 At Christmas - Original Christmas songs are usually cheesier than this so that saves it a bit.

It narrowly escaped bottom 5, but the final Christmas tune of the rankdown is snuffed out here. "New Again," the Brad Paisley-aided song that finds him portraying Jesus and her taking on the role of his mother from The Passion of the Christ, managed to get two top 10 ranks -- which results in our highest losses thus far -- but it also got a whole lot of low ranks rather unsurprisingly that drug it down, including several #40 placements. For me personally, I'm glad this was the holiday tune that held on the longest, because Sara Evans absolutely slayed the vocal on this. She sounds simply angelic here and really elevates the song to another level and the instrumentation on the outro (particularly the fiddle) is gorgeous. Still doesn't hold a candle to her regular country material though, of course! "I remember when you were born In that manger where I first held You in my arms So many miracles and lives you've changed And this world repays you how? With all this pain"

The unlucky first song to be taken from one of Sara Evans' eight studio records that is eliminated is "I Don't Wanna See the Light," which unfortunately sees the light at the end of the tunnel here. This album cut from Evans' official debut album, Three Chords and the Truth, featured a music video (something that couldn't be said for 2 of its 3 actual singles, lol), which led to me including it in this rankdown as a bonus to help pad the list out. In the end, this dark ballad with a big wailed chorus received little fanfare and only one participant slotted this one into their upper half of their list, while everyone else largely felt unmoved by this weeper. "There's a cold wind howlin' at the trailer door And the wolf that's been scratchin' Is coming back for more"

Oh wow, I had no idea "You're Gonna Go" had a music video! What the heck! That song is dated as hell, but imo it is one of the best songs on her The Early Years album, so I had no problem seeing it included in this rankdown. My favorite part of the song is how resonant and crystal clear her vocals sound at the end of the song, when she sustains "You're reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy" way up high Her voice has done nothing but improve over time, but tbh I wish she had more songs in her later years with sustained high notes in the vocal arrangement. "At Christmas" is such a bop! I love listening to it, any time of the year! "New Again" is the correct choice for highest Christmas song though, if only because it is so emotional and powerful. That song is quite a moment, and can induce chills in a way that is usually reserved for non-holiday songs... I'm so glad these were the two highest Christmas songs If Sara's Christmas music ends up being a part of her eventual album series, I 100% expect one of those two songs to be the winner of the whole rankdown.

What the hell... This one has NO business being the first song from her debut to leave! "Shame About That" sounds like circus music, for starters... How did it gather enough support to beat one of the most incredible songs on her debut??! Edit: Sure, I'll take a perfect ranking though

How did it gather enough support to beat one of the most incredible songs on her debut??! Aaaand it's not even the first single from Three Chords and the Truth to leave! We say goodbye to the first official country radio single in this rankdown... which coincidentally also happens to be the first official country radio single of Sara Evans' career, with "True Lies" dating back to 1997. This dated little ditty about getting swept off her feet by a man she knows is no good for her was a big flop on the charts and managed to already sound incredibly dated when it was released. Evidently it was no more fresh with the Pulse community at large as collectively y'all gave this one a pass with only two dissenters ranking this one in the top half of their lists. On the flipside, @xfer loses his #40, which I imagine somewhat makes up for him suffering the biggest loss of the rankdown thus far a few reveals back. "True lies will hurt me less than losing you So darling lie to me When I get lost in those blue eyes"

Lmao that's okay. As much crap as I give "Shame About That", I actually jam pretty hard to it whenever it comes on... Even though "True Lies" is a more "normal" song, it still usually comes up slightly behind "Shame" whenever I try to think about my favorites from her debut.

Not too sad about any of these being gone! With that being said, it’s gonna be so tough to watch songs go as we get further along. She has SO many gems and I honestly loved the entire top 34 or so.

“New Again” - I love Christmas music but aside from Sara sounding amazing as usual this song just goes nowhere and I was surprised how much I really disliked it. Kind of surprised to see it was the most popular Christmas song.
“I Don’t Wanna See The Light” - This is such a hauntingly beautiful and sad song...I especially loved the twin fiddles. Sara also sounds especially great on this.
“True Lies” - A very classic sounding country song with a great steel guitar solo. I think I initially ranked this a bit higher but it ended up falling back after a few more listens.

I'm not surprised the first two main album losses are from her debut. I love her debut but I get why it wouldn't appeal to as wide an audience. I'm dying for her to try material this country again someday.

Most of the songs on Three Chords and the Truth sound very dated even for 1997, so I'm not surprised the singles went nowhere on the charts. That being said, I Don't Wanna See the Light is such a good song. I had no idea that they made a music video for it until about a year or so ago...kind of bizarre since two of the three singles didn't even get a video lol. True Lies is also good, but just sounds too dated to me to measure up to her later music.

We go for our third straight loss from Sara's debut album as the third and final single from the project is the second single to leave, finishing just ahead of "True Lies" by 20 points. "Shame About That" is another short, whimsical ditty, this time about her catching wind of an old flame being left by his new girl and feeling no sympathy for his misfortune and paired with as bboat11 called it, "circus music." This one was received with little passion just as her debut single was met with, as we see a lone top 10 loss, but the majority of participants had this one pretty low on their list. With this reveal, Three Chords and the Truth is already down to 1 song out of 4 before any of her other seven albums even take a scratch, but that won't last for long. "Well excuse me for my lack of sympathy I don't mean to be cruel But it sounds like the same kind of thing you did to me Back when I played the fool"

Rounding out the bottom 10 for the Sara Evans rankdown comes at the expense of Sara Evans' feature on The Warren Brothers' "That's the Beat of a Heart," the only single release of her career where she's not been on lead credit. It was released in early 2000, just before she really blew up with "Born to Fly," and peaked just outside the Top 20 on the charts. It's a great song and her harmony vocals elevate it to another level entirely, but her presence on the song is fairly minimal so a bottom 10 placement on this rankdown seemed expected given the strength of her own material. Honestly, this one outperformed my expectations by making it this deep into reveals. A few #10 ranks are lost here and some close calls just beyond that, but for the most part, it's another track that got weighed down by a majority of lower ranks. "Sometimes it's hard to don't want to look over your shoulder 'Cause you don't want to remember where you've been"
