It's a shame Electricity only debuted at #96. Hopefully it becomes a hit, as it's much better than the bland One Kiss.

So GLY lost a third of its digital sales, almost definitely because they took away the discount. In other words, if they kept it, and assuming sales wouldn't have gone down as much or stayed about the same, don't the calculations work out that it very likely would have been #1? It seems like the few thousand bucks AT MOST they would have lost from the discount would be well worth the legacy and marketability of both the song and Maroon 5 as a band by being able to claim another #1. Of course there would have been some risk, but they would have only lost a few thousand bucks at worst, and the risk wouldn't have been that high, as it seems like it really could have been #1, and still has a chance this week, maybe without the discount, but a much stronger chance with it. Just seems like a poor marketing decision. It's a little bit of a shame, because this is their third song (after Payphone and Sugar) to spend multiple weeks at #2, yet falling short of the top spot.

Why should streams be lower than expected? I ran my own calculations and they tally with fhas'. IMF should pull in at least 41 million streams. Only way GLY goes #1 tomorrow is if an error is made in the calculations of IMF's numbers. Reality: 39 million :3 39.7 million streams is basically 40 million streams, so I don't get the point you're trying to make here. You're acting like Drake pulled in 25 million streams this week. Also, you said that if it was lower than predicted, GLY would go #1. Well, that happened, and GLY still stayed stuck at #2.

Non-Drake 2018 #1's: Havana - 1 week #1 This Is America - 2 weeks #1 Psycho - 1 week #1 SAD! - 1 week #1 I Like It - 1 week #1
Lmao, so none of the non-Drake #1's have even spent 3 weeks #1 this year.

That jump for "You Say" was impressive, jumping 72-44. But I bet that'll be its peak. Good for a Christian song though.

Khalid and Normani's 'Love Lies' Lifts to No. 1 On Pop Songs Airplay Chart
9/17/2018 by Gary Trust
Kevin Winter/Getty Images Khalid and Normani perform onstage during the 2018 Billboard Music Awards at MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 20, 2018 in Las Vegas. Plus, Ariana Grande debuts a third song, 'Breathin,' from 'Sweetener.'
Khalid and Normani each earn their first No. 1 on Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart, as "Love Lies" rises 2-1 on the survey dated Sept. 22.
Khalid had previously peaked as high as No. 3 on Pop Songs as featured, with Alessia Cara, on Logic's "1-800-273-8255" last November. Normani reigns in her first visit to the chart as a soloist; she first led as a member of Fifth Harmony, whose "Work From Home," featuring Ty Dolla $ign, spent two weeks at No. 1 in June 2016.
The Pop Songs survey (which in 2017 celebrated its 25th anniversary) measures total weekly plays, as tabulated by Nielsen Music, among its reporting panel of 163 mainstream top 40 stations.
Other highlights of Khalid and Normani's coronation:
Longest trip to No. 1 for a duet: Reigning in its 24th week on Pop Songs, "Love Lies" completes the longest journey to No. 1 for a song by two equally-billed lead acts. It passes the 17-week ascent by Major Lazer and DJ Snake's "Lean On," featuring MO, in 2015.
Among all songs, only three have made longer runs to No. 1 than "Love Lies," led by Cara's "Here" (26 weeks, 2015-16).
First soundtrack No. 1 since 2016: "Love Lies," from the Love, Simon soundtrack (and released on Fox/RCA Records), is the first song released from a soundtrack to top Pop Songs since Justin Timberlake's "Can't Stop the Feeling!," from Trolls, for three weeks beginning June 18, 2016.
5H Joins 1D & Destiny's Child: Normani is the second member of Fifth Harmony (now on hiatus) to rule Pop Songs. Camila Cabello (who departed the group in December 2016) boasts three No. 1s: "Bad Things," with Machine Gun Kelly (two weeks, 2017); "Havana," featuring Young Thug (seven, 2017-18); and "Never Be the Same" (three, 2018).
5H is the third group to spin off at least two chart-topping members on Pop Songs. One Direction (which has never led the list) set the mark with three: (former member) Zayn (one No. 1), Niall Horan (one) and Liam Payne (one). Apart from Destiny's Child, owners of two Pop Songs No. 1s, Kelly Rowland has scored one solo leader and Beyoncé, six.
Plus, Ariana Grande debuts at No. 38 on Pop Songs with "Breathin," the third track to reach the chart from her album Sweetener, which debuted at No. 1 on the Sept. 1-dated Billboard 200. The first two remain in the Pop Songs top 10: "God Is a Woman," up 9-8 (a new peak), and former No. 1 lead single "No Tears Left to Cry," which holds at No. 10.
Ariana Grande performs at the 2018 iHeartRadio Wango Tango on June 2, 2018 in Los Angeles. Read More Ariana Grande's Success With 'Sweetener' Marks a Rare New Peak for a Late-'10s Pop Star
"God" makes the chart's third-greatest gain (up 11 percent in plays, according to Nielsen Music), but Republic Records is already concurrently promoting "Breathin," as labels are considering whether to space single releases more closely together in era when fans can stream any song from an album upon its release.
All charts will update tomorrow (Sept. 18) on Billboard.com.
