Rihanna debuted in 2005, right when the Digital era began. She went onto to become the best-selling Digital artist ever, especially worldwide. Now, 13 years later, and as we are now in the streaming era, she has LITERALLY transitioned into being the most streamed Female artist ever and performs better than arguably of her peers on every streaming platform... But she isn't "big enough". LOL! Being the biggest female in the streaming era doesn't necessarily mean she can compete with Drake and others (i.e. males) because females have taken a hit in the streaming era. An album bomb means all tracks being streamed a lot. How did ANTI do in streaming its first week? My post isn't meant to say Rihanna can't/won't compete, just saying her being the biggest female doesn't mean a ton. ANTI didn't even hit 200K in first week. Her next album definitely won't be bigger than Scorpion.

"Hello" broke streaming records. 25 likely would have as well, but it wasn't available for streaming for 7 months. This is Adele's third album and she isn't in the hip hop genre. Pop was dominant at the time of both releases. She will get a top 10 debut and flood the Hot 100, but nothing as much as what Scorpion did. Hip Hop was already the dominant in streaming when "Hello" dropped and broke streaming records, though. It's Adele, the industry standard of exceptions. We should absolutely never count her out. We're talking about the same artist who broke records for both streaming and digital sales with the same song on the same week.

The ANTI release was a complete shit-show... F*cked up due to an early TIDAL leak.

ANTI had a completely botched release because of TIDAL. Nonetheless, in SPS, it's outperformed eery Female album released after it and had far more longevity.

She probably would have gotten very close to 1 million sales had she not given away so many.

We can only blame TIDAL for that. Hopefully she's learned her lesson and completely removes herself from the fraudulent travesty that is The Carters' personal service. Kanye West escaped just in time. :kii:

She doesn't have the 1st AND 2nd best selling album of the decade for no reason.

Did someone in the last page really claim that Rihanna is not big enough? Amongst females, she's arguably the biggest artist in the world depending on what your criteria is and if we count males, groups etc. she's still in the top 10. Her next album will be even bigger than Anti.
How is Taki Taki doing btw?

Rihanna won't do a Drake because I highly doubt she'll release an album with as many tracks. But I can see her getting most of her album top 20 on the Hot 100, with 4-5 songs top 10. She's only gotten bigger since Anti and I'm sure the material will be great. With how big streaming has gotten, I think her next album will be a massive one, especially if it has a smooth roll out.

Comparing Rihanna to other females is not relevant to that discussion.

I wonder how hard IMF will drop the next few weeks and how long it will take to drop off the hot 100. Radio is dropping it like a rock. Also Girls like you is STILL gaining on radio, mess.

I hope later, things will diversify.

Which, we all know, won't happen unless #R9 is a TIDAL exclusive and it's release is absolutely botched like ANTI's was. :kii:

In other news...
Rihanna's "GGGB" hits +1B streams on Spotify.
She now has 5 +1B streamed albums, the most among Females and she TIES Drake overall (whom has 5, soon to be 6).
This is amazing considering her catalogue is so vast.
The Streaming Queen.
