Up to 70 percent now. Should be done with a bit of time to spare.
Will agree that it's stacked. Have 11 perfect songs so far and only 3 songs I didn't like.

Sorry about the lack of ballot updates. I've had enough posters submit (and then some) to do a ballot update, but I have been swamped lately with real life matters. Maybe I'll do some extra work tomorrow and post multiple ballot updates over the course of the day. And don't worry, I do not intend to push the deadline back any further. We will start Saturday night.

I'm typing in Georgia, size three font, and given what time of the ranking process it is, this can only mean one thing: ARE YOU READY FOR THE BIGGEST BALLOT UPDATE OF ALL TIME? Because of my inability to be around all that much over the last couple of days, we have a staggering NINE posters who have submitted for this particular ballot update (*deep breath*): Daryl the Beryl, Sambalada, lyhom, somelikeitwhen, rowellfarm490, @humanshazam, Doc Indie Party Rock, @levitation, and Walking Contradiction. Look, nine posters in one ballot update is bound to shake up the ranking, but how much? Well...
- Over the course of these nine rankings, the #1 spot changed hands three times. The only songs to hold down the #1 fort, though, were the top two, who stayed in the top two over the course of this entire ballot update. #1 currently leads #2 by 17 points, but that's nothing compared to the lead that #2 has over #3: It is almost 100 points clear of #3. #3 also has a bit of a gap going for it, with 35 points separating #3 and #4. - The same two songs in every top ten were able to gut it out and stay in the top ten over these nine rankings. In fact, both songs are currently in the top three. - #4 and #5 are separated by just five points, but there are sizable gaps elsewhere in the top ten. For instance, #8 is ahead of #9 by nearly 60 points. Meanwhile, #6 leads #7 by almost 40 points. As for #10 and #11, well, the gap there is over 30 points. There are still a couple of songs within striking distance of the top ten this late in the process, though, so #10 better not get too confident... - The bottom three constant count remains at three, and all three are still in the bottom five. The previous #100 from the last set was able to move up out of the bottom five, allowing a song that has never been in the bottom five to enter for the first time. #100 is currently over 300 points behind #90, so I think it's going to be bottom ten at the end. The song right above it at #99 is in similarly bad shape. In fact, #99 is just a single point ahead of #100. The current #100 was the only song to be at the very bottom throughout this update. - GIVE ME ALL YOUR THRESHOLDS! Eight songs reached the magical 2,000 point mark, though only two are currently above 2,200 points. All but nineteen songs are above 1,000 points, and only three songs have yet to reach 500 points. All songs have moved over the 400 point threshold...but the bottom two have only just done so. - One song that was in the top 40 at one point reached a dangerous new low over the course of this update. Meanwhile, at least two more songs finally found its way into the top 40 for the first time, after spending considerable time in the bottom half. - GIMME GIMME STANDARD DEVIATION! I have good news and bad news. The good news is that the two songs with the highest standard deviations have not changed, and those songs can be found at #80 and #22. The bad news is that the highest standard deviation is no longer on track to break the highest SD record. Welp. As for the lowest SDs, the two songs that were the lowest in the previous update remain the lowest, though they have switched roles, with #98 now holding the lowest SD, and #93 holding the second-lowest. The current lowest SD in the top ten belongs to...yet again...the song at #5. This time, it IS the same song. It now has the fourth-lowest SD. - And, of course, what would a ballot update be without Pulse's Favorite Part of the Ballot Update...wait, what's that?...oh, you have to be kidding me...
That's right, we don't have any ties. Look what you have wrought. Okay, no funny business, just tags.
(just about) 72 HOURS UNTIL THE DEADLINE.

I just noticed this RD! OMG, I'm gonna work on this. I was all into Alternative music from 1993-2002, so I charted about half of these songs, and several reached the top of my personal chart. I'm IN!

Finally sent! This was a really good list. I had a strugle of what would be in my bottom 10. There's only one song I didn't like, but the other songs in my bottom 10 are just okay-meh to me, not bottom 10 worthy on other lists.

"Be Quiet and Drive" would have been in my top five, minimum, and I would have been very upset when it, inevitably, underperformed.
"Du Hast" would have been somewhere very high, too. What can I say? I'm a Rammstein fan.

Let's get this show on the road! - What songs do you think could or will make the top ten? What about a #1 prediction? Closing Time, Bitter Sweet Symphony, The Way, Flagpole Sitta, Karma Police, maybe the Natalie Imbruglia songs could be top 10, idk what could win- What songs do you think could or will make the bottom ten? What about a #100 prediction? One Week for sure, idk anything else- What songs will be highest standard deviation contenders? Creed songs, Everclear songs, maybe the more mainstream songs- What songs will be lowest standard deviation contenders? The top and bottom songs- Of all of the pop crossovers in this rankdown, which song will do the worst? One Week- Do you foresee any surprises or disappointments? - What songs do you think could or will make the top ten? What about a #1 prediction? Bitter Sweet Symphony (#1), Closing Time, Jumper, Iris, The Way are guaranteed...some others that I could see land up there (or at least in the top 20) are My Hero, Torn, Given to Fly, Karma Police, at least one of the Garbage songs, Flagpole Sitta, Celebrity Skin, Brick, at least one non-Jumper 3EB song, and Perfect? - What songs do you think could or will make the bottom ten? What about a #100 prediction? Sugar Cane (#100), Get 'em Outta Here, Hooch, Sunday Shining, What's This Life For, Lullaby, Why Can't We Be Friends, at least one Days of the New song, at least one of the swing revival songs, mayyyybe Got the Life - What songs will be highest standard deviation contenders? One Week, Got the Life, Space Lord, The Dope Show, Intergalactic, I'm Afraid of Americans, Good Riddance, No Shelter, Save Yourself, Dammit, My Own Prison - What songs will be lowest standard deviation contenders? Not too good at this particular section but I'll throw out some guesses anyways: most of the bottom 10 contenders I mentioned (other than Got the Life, Lullaby, and What's This Life For), the Everclear songs, the Black Lab songs, Once in a While, What I Didn't Know, I Will Still Be Laughing, Truly Truly, Over Your Shoulder - Of all of the pop crossovers in this rankdown, which song will do the worst? Hooch - Do you foresee any surprises or disappointments? Oh, I definitely foresee many disappointments here (see most of my high SD predictions) - Which Third Eye Blind song will do the best: "Jumper", "How's It Going to Be", or "Losing a Whole Year"? - Which Smashing Pumpkins song will be highest: "Ava Adore" or "Perfect"? - Which Garbage song will perform the best: "I Think I'm Paranoid" or "Push It"? (eh, it's a tossup) - Which Matchbox Twenty song will be the best performer: "3 AM" or "Real World"? - Which Pearl Jam song will be the top song: "Given to Fly", "Wishlist", or "In Hiding"? - Which Everclear song will perform the most admirably: "I Will Buy You a New Life", "Everything to Everyone", or "Father of Mine"? (not too sure here though) - Which Days of the New song will perform the best: "Touch, Peel, and Stand", "The Down Town", or "Shelf in the Room"? - Which Alanis Morissette song will reign supreme: "Thank U" or "Uninvited"? - Which Oasis song will rise above the other one: "All Around the World" or "Acquiesce"? - Which grunge icon will perform better: Chris Cornell or Jerry Cantrell? - Which singer-songwriter will come out on top: Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, or Natalie Merchant?

Here goes nothing. This is based on the bit of research I have done to date. - What songs do you think could or will make the top ten? What about a #1 prediction? My guess is "Bittersweet Symphony", "Karma Police", "Flagpole Sitta" should all easily make the top ten, and other possibilities could be "Iris", "Closing Time", "The Way", "My Hero", and even "Wash It Away" (yes, that's a bold prediction, but Cody's post and the reactions to it give me hope!) And my best guess for #1 is "Flagpole Sitta", though I am in no way confident about that one. - What songs do you think could or will make the bottom ten? What about a #100 prediction? Again, this is just based on the little research I have done. My guess is "Lullaby", two or more of the Days of the New songs, Finley Quaye, "Jump Jive an' Wail", "Why Can't We Be Friends", "Kind & Generous" [:'(], and at least one Creed song, possibly both. I refuse to predict any more of the bottom ten for fear of making an even bigger fool of myself. Same with the #100. - What songs will be highest standard deviation contenders? "One Week", "Save Yourself" (?), "Shimmer" (?), "Sex & Candy" (?). Honestly, my best guess is the first one. I know some people love it and some people hate it around here. - What songs will be lowest standard deviation contenders? A Days of the New song. - Of all of the pop crossovers in this rankdown, which song will do the worst? "Lullaby", easily. - Do you foresee any surprises or disappointments? Absolutely. - Which Third Eye Blind song will do the best: "Jumper", "How's It Going to Be", or "Losing a Whole Year"? "Losing A Whole Year". - Which Smashing Pumpkins song will be highest: "Ava Adore" or "Perfect"? "Perfect". - Which Garbage song will perform the best: "I Think I'm Paranoid" or "Push It"? "I Think I'm Paranoid". - Which Matchbox Twenty song will be the best performer: "3 AM" or "Real World"? "Real World". - Which Pearl Jam song will be the top song: "Given to Fly", "Wishlist", or "In Hiding"? "Given To Fly". - Which Everclear song will perform the most admirably: "I Will Buy You a New Life", "Everything to Everyone", or "Father of Mine"? "Father of Mine", I would hope. - Which Days of the New song will perform the best: "Touch, Peel, and Stand", "The Down Town", or "Shelf in the Room"? "The Down Town", I guess? From what I heard from other people, I'm expecting them all to be in the bottom 20, anyway, lol. - Which Alanis Morissette song will reign supreme: "Thank U" or "Uninvited"? "Uninvited". - Which Oasis song will rise above the other one: "All Around the World" or "Acquiesce"? "Acquiesce". - Which grunge icon will perform better: Chris Cornell or Jerry Cantrell? Chris (though I do hope I am wrong on this one). - Which singer-songwriter will come out on top: Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, or Natalie Merchant? Sadly, I think Tori is the only one with any chance of escaping the bottom 20...

Just Submitted!
- What songs do you think could or will make the top ten? What about a #1 prediction? Bittersweet Symphony, Iris, Good Riddance, Jumper, Closing Time, Flagpole Sitta (#1), I Think I'm Paranoid, 3AM, Inside Out, Karma Police
- What songs do you think could or will make the bottom ten? What about a #100 prediction? Sugar Cane, What's This Life For (#100), Got the Life, Why Can't We Be Friends, Thank U, From Your Mouth, Brimful of Asha, Beautiful Disaster, Royal Oil
- What songs will be highest standard deviation contenders? Brick from what I've seen here, Intergalactic, The Dope Show, Jump Jive and Wail, Thank U, I'm Afraid of Americans
- What songs will be lowest standard deviation contenders? Bittersweet Symphony, Iris, Jumper, Closing Time, Why Can't We Be Friends, Got the Life, Sugar Cane
- Of all of the pop crossovers in this rankdown, which song will do the worst? Why Can't We Be Friends crossed over, right? That one.
- Do you foresee any surprises or disappointments? Maybe I end up avoiding the bottom 5 in the Pulse Rankdown category? I suspect some people aren't going to be where some of their favorite songs ends up. Two songs from Everclear make the top half.
- Which Third Eye Blind song will do the best: "Jumper", "How's It Going to Be", or "Losing a Whole Year"? - Which Smashing Pumpkins song will be highest: "Ava Adore" or "Perfect"? This one should be close. - Which Garbage song will perform the best: "I Think I'm Paranoid" or "Push It"? - Which Matchbox Twenty song will be the best performer: "3 AM" or "Real World"? Both will do well, though. - Which Pearl Jam song will be the top song: "Given to Fly", "Wishlist", or "In Hiding"? - Which Everclear song will perform the most admirably: "I Will Buy You a New Life", "Everything to Everyone", or "Father of Mine"? - Which Days of the New song will perform the best: "Touch, Peel, and Stand", "The Down Town", or "Shelf in the Room"? - Which Alanis Morissette song will reign supreme: "Thank U" or "Uninvited"? It'll be a rout. - Which Oasis song will rise above the other one: "All Around the World" or "Acquiesce"? - Which grunge icon will perform better: Chris Cornell or Jerry Cantrell? I don't think either one ends up in the top half, though. - Which singer-songwriter will come out on top: Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, or Natalie Merchant? Could be close with Amos on her heels.

As I told Red when I submitted my list, my bottom 20 is burnout city. It's populated by songs that are OK musically, but were overplayed to the point of burnout when they were new, and are still overplayed to the point of burnout because apparently many people believe that these were the only good songs made in the late 1990s.
