Because there is nothing else to talk about. We aren't even discussing the charts at this point. We are just arguing and talking nonsense. That is my point. This is like when X died. It is just a complete mess. I know some people use this for charts( um we all do ). Well the charts aren't being discussed anymore. How is it a complete mess? When X died, there were pages and pages of people going at each others' throats. Right now, it's just minor disagreements. If you feel there is nothing else to discuss about the charts, then don't go on the chart discussion. Except there isn't a chart discussion.

If any information that is important comes up about this charting week and the thread is locked, there would be nowhere to post it.

I actually agree with that 1 person. We need to make these closer to the chart dates. Maybe there would be ACTUAL chart discussion. I've noticed every week that the last 3 days before the Chart is updated, there is practically no Chart discussion here. That shouldn't be. I feel like if these were made on Friday, there wouldn't be burnout right before the chart is updated.

They can get over it because it is a little annoying that the last 3 - 4 days before the tracking ends, there is no chart discussion. Those are the days we are supposed to be the most active. Making these on Fridays would fix a lot of what is going on right now.

That's not true. A #1 is only the most streamed, purchased, and played song of an arbitrarily set seven day period. How people perceive its quality is not a factor of the Hot 100, nor is there even a real numerical way to even determine such a thing. Even if a Hot 100 position was completely indicative of how much people like a song (notice I said completely, because it does have some merit, but due to the Hot 100 being what it is, it can never be a sole determination factor of such a subjective thing), being #1 does not mean most people like your song, because it doesn't take majority to be at the top of the list. All it takes is more than the others. Just like how the top streamed song of the week wasn't streamed by most people, it was streamed by more people than any other song. If you're gonna get all technical and "akshually" about things, at least get it correct. So? It is still the song that was listened to more than any other song. And it since it was listened to the most, it was liked the most. People only listen to songs over and over again if they like it. Unless itโs radio.

Even then, if you have a station on that plays the same songs over and over, you are usually doing so because you want to

Honestly I can't see Sicko Mode going #1. It's video, though everyone was raving about it, is getting a surprisingly low number of views, and that would seem to be the only thing that would help it at this point.
I wouldn't be surprised if GLY remained #1 for 2-3 more weeks, everything else is just so low and there is virtually NO competition.
Which leads to my next thought. Now would be the PERFECT time for Adele to jump in. I know there's consensus she won't release till next year, but it's only gonna get harder for pop acts like her to thrive in the increasingly hip-hop dominated climate the longer she waits, and from a logistical standpoint and excluding other factors (such as quality of the album, other acts releasing at the time, etc.), they will almost certainly make more money if they release now rather than later, especially with the Holiday season coming up, as year-upon-year album sales are still in great decline, and that is her strongest metric.

Regardless of what's gonna be #1 (let's face it, most of us kinda suck at guessing that anyway), what do we think are the chances of Panic! at the Disco cracking the top 10 with "High Hopes"? Just discovered that song and liked it upon first listen.

That is what the word "usually" is for. Always counter examples. Usually radio and what you listen to is a choice.

I can't see it happening but Halsey getting a solo #1 would make it the greatest chart week in history.

I used to think that Broken would be that huge alternative crossover that comes out of nowhere and happens every year ("Feel It Still", "Stressed Out", "Shut Up and Dance", a few examples of this), but now I think High Hopes will be that crossover.

Broken sounds like a stereotypical indie pop song, especially with the vocal effects and the synth line.
