I wonder if Ariana Grande "Thank u, next" goes #1 first, then "Breathin'" goes #1 later.....will that be creating a chart history for a single from a new album go #1 before the last single from a previous album goes #1....Have that ever done before??? It looks like this can happen if "Breathin'" do well in both airplay and streaming for the few weeks down the road (Don't think the sales will be there for this song.) It's been done a couple times. The Hills and Can't Feel My Face by the Weeknd, Only Girl (in the World) and What's My Name by Rihanna. The Hills and Can't Feel My Face are on the same album as well as What's My Name and Only Girl (in the World). The question is that the first single to reach number 1 is from the next album.

Holy "Breathin" seems like it's going to be a radio monster. It's getting better updates than "God is a Woman" during it's ascent to the top 10 I'm worried that the success of TU,N will cut its lifespan a little short but I hope it manages top 10 tbh, the song has hella grown on me We’ve seen two songs by the same artist coexist in the past before like Justin Bieber in 2016.

From Wikipedia Iris" was also a major international hit. It peaked at number five on the Irish Singles Chart and has since become the 19th biggest-selling single of all time in Ireland. The song initially peaked at number 50 in the United Kingdom in August 1998 before rising to number 25 the following year. On October 2, 2011, after performances by auditionees on The X Factor, the song re-entered the UK Singles Chart at number three. In May 2013, the song charted at number 12 after it was covered by Britain's Got Talent contestant Robbie Kennedy.[9] Elsewhere, the song became a number-one hit in Italy (for four weeks), Australia (for five weeks) and Canada (for eight weeks), and it reached the top 10 in Flemish Belgium and the Netherlands. And this is relevant why? No one is denying that Iris was a hit, yes it was a hit, a big hit. And so is Girls Like You. They are both huge songs. Easy there. I just thought it was cool that’s all.

The length of the '3rd wind' now just depends on the long term success of the movie

Not sure what I’m more excited about— Ariana projected to get her first no. 1 (by a huge margin at that!) or “breathin” steadily smashing its way into the top 20. Either way, it’s so satisfying to see her having this success with both songs. The cherry on top of a quality album era.
Agreed with the previous sentiment that “thank u, next” already feels like one of her biggest hits. It’s seemingly EVERYWHERE.

Yes!!! "Iris" is definitely safe now! Also, it is awesome that "high Hopes" has passed 100 million. Did IWSNT ever hit that high? Or is this their highest airplay ever??

The fact that Ariana is pushing Thank U, Next and Breathin at the same time while God is a woman is still in the top 20 and doing well on radio shows that Ariana is superstar status at this point

We'll have to see how both songs hold up and if they can hold up over Happier I guess it is possible that SICKO MODE could sneak in a week for the 11/24 chart. And maybe Happier will be 12/1? Unless there is another surprise single release

Holy "Breathin" seems like it's going to be a radio monster. It's getting better updates than "God is a Woman" during it's ascent to the top 10 I'm worried that the success of TU,N will cut its lifespan a little short but I hope it manages top 10 tbh, the song has hella grown on me I heard a Billboard podcast and they were talking about Ariana having 2 radio hits at the same time. They talked to a radio programmer and he said that she's doing great and its a good idea to stop waiting months & months between radio singles, plus people really like her songs and they have ways to avoid any overexposure while still fully supporting all of the singles. God is a woman managed to have longetivity and 2 weeks at N1 on Pop with breathin climbing fast on HAC & Pop
