“You’re So Cool” is quite possibly my least favorite song Patty has ever recorded. It’s almost hard to believe that Matraca Berg and Carolyn Dawn Johnson co-wrote this because the lyrics are just cringeworthy. This song is such a product of the time period though given everything else that was being released in 1999 and 2000.
“Pieces on the Ground” however deserved so much better than the bottom three in which it found itself in. I’m equally as surprised by the three last place rankings it received especially when “You’re So Cool” was right there!
This is the perfect top six though to this album as they are all the best songs of the album.

"You're So Cool" is better done by Martina McBride when she sings those three words for like two seconds during her own pop song "I Love You." YSC was a mess. "Pieces on the Ground" on the other hand was lovely and I would've liked to see it go to the Top 5 at least. And that's easily the cringiest part of her song, because it's so unnecessarily cheesy and amateurish coming from a woman in her thirties! So imagine we take the worst line from that song, take all the catchiness out of it, turn it into an entire song on its own, and give it to a woman in her mid-40s...

at the “The Last Thing On My Mind” music video being at the top of the “You’re So Cool” reveal. Apparently rankdowns are not safe for pregnant women or people with heart conditions! Not sure how that happened but it is fixed now

I knew it wouldn't go very far. Still, "Thirsty" is beautiful. Some of her past religious tracks have been filler, but this was one of the highlights here, imo.

"Strong Heart" has a pretty neat instrumental arrangement, but the song itself is one of her more lackluster singles.
"Thirsty" is beautiful! Definitely glad to see it in the top 5!

"Strong Heart" works fine in the context of the album, but I have to agree that it was definitely one of her more lackluster singles. Despite the strength of some of the other songs, I'm just not sure any one of them would've been a great choice for radio. I had to revisit "Thirsty" quite a few times before finally settling down on my final ranking (and even then I asked castleoblivion26 to change it lol). This is really a great song and one that I felt very intrigued by. Despite that, it's a particular kind of song that I'd have to be in the mood for and so given that I couldn't quite justify putting it into my top 5.

"Thirsty" is a song that if you just look at the lyric could be very corny or something, but is ultimately sung and performed so well that it's majestic. I wish it were even higher here.

This final four songs were about what I expected them to be with the only caveat being unsure of which order they’d finish in. The albums lead single “That’s the Kind of Mood I’m In” was never likely gong to be a top two contender given that it isn’t highly regarded amongst the rest of her discography, so it leaving first wasn’t all that surprising. I remember when this song was first released thinking it was quite possibly one of the worst songs I had ever heard from her, but I think that had more to do with where country music itself was at in 1999/2000 and this song just seemed to pander somewhat to try and fit in too much. Suffice to say, I’ve come to enjoy this song more over the years and certainly don’t have the same sentiments about it that I did back then. Going into this I kind of had a hunch that “The Last Thing On My Mind” was going to be the likely winner, even though chart wise it didn’t quite match the success of the albums first single. I actually don’t have much recollection of hearing this much on country radio, but I too have come around to finding this song to be far superior to “That’s the Kind of Mood I’m In”. I wasn’t sure how well “She Never Stopped Loving Him” would fare in the rankdown as I guess I’ve never gauged the temperature of it amongst Patty’s fans on here (aside from our host lol), but I’m thrilled to see it garner so much support that it was able to finish in the top two. This is such a well-written and poignant song. I really could’ve put either one of the top two finishers at the top of my list, but at the time I completed this whatever mood I might’ve been in made me connect with “My Heart Will Never Break This Way Again”. This is such a tear-jerker that really pulls on your heartstrings. Again, I didn't set my expectations high for this song so I'm relieved to see it at least make the top 3. Thanks again, castleoblivion26 , and I'm looking forward to the results of the next album!

Results for Strong Heart ended up being pretty good overall!! I'm admittedly a bit shocked to see "That's The Kind of Mood I'm In" only finish at #4. The production has aged very poorly, and tbh her vocal is pretty bad....it almost sounds like the song tries to go higher than she is comfortable singing, and you can definitely tell... I'm not sure if that is a result of the bad production or if she was actually straining too much. But all that aside, the melody is very catchy, so I do still occasionally get in the mood to jam out to this!
Both ballads that snuck into the top 3 are incredible though, so I am very happy about them doing so well!
Her singles rd was so big and all so new to me that I promptly forgot about most of the songs that weren't on her 16 Biggest Hits collection, lol. "The Last Thing On My Mind" is one of the songs that was not on that album. I was shocked when I looked back at the singles rd before starting this album rd and seeing that this song I had no recollection of whatsoever had been the highest finishing single from this album. But then I listened to it again for this rankdown, and immediately knew that it had to win. This song is soooooo amazing! I've had it on repeat for the past couple weeks now, lol. An ascending chorus like this has always strikes my ear in a good way, and the empty bed feeling as big as Arkansas lyric is really quite memorable and clever! I'm glad to have added this to my Patty repertoire!

YES!! "When the day turns into dusk And the shadows start to fall And this empty bed's as big as Arkansas" is soooo melodically pleasing! for that alone it deserves the win here!
The top 3 are all amazing though, I'd have loved to see "My Heart Will Never Break This Way Again" also get a win but as I said there's no denying that chorus on the winner!
