Okay, that's more like it!! Although this album was literally perfect from front to back, so this last place ranking from me is pretty close to meaningless...

This is going very well for me so far. If "Lovin' All Night" could be the final song to miss the top 5, that would be wonderful, but I expect single bias to at least get it a few positions higher despite not being among her most popular tunes.

Noooo... I didn't know this song, but fell in love with it instantly. One of the best discoveries that I made through all the RDs. Absolutely beautiful tune and every bit of this song deserves at least top 5.

Absolutely beautiful tune and every bit of this song deserves at least top 5. It's great to know that you loved this on your first listen just as much as I did back when the album was released! I dang near actually put this in my top two. And at least you got this right as I can't believe some of the lower-end rankings for this song (I'm looking at our host specifically!).

I think I'm down to my top 3....and my #10 I sure was off on most of these album tracks! But like I hinted at earlier, this album was perfect from top to bottom, so there is honestly very little discrepancy between like my #4 and my #11... I will probably have this entire album in my top 20 when we do the album tracks rd, lol.

Both of my top two songs remain intact with my lowest rankings being #6 and #8. I can't imagine "Lovin' All Night" making the top two, but more than not single bias usually prevails.

"Lovin' All Night" has overstayed. The other three songs are all career highs for Ms. Patty and they better outlast it.

I have to defend myself on that rank, I love this album so much and this song was probably the one I struggled with where to place the most. I've always loved this one but I love the whole album and any given time my rank may have changed drastically

Thank GOD!
Perfect top 3 for this album!!
I predict the title track will win, Grandpa gets 2nd, and Strong is 3rd.

This is leaving at about the right spot as it has never seemed like a single that had a lot of passion behind it. Speaking for myself, I admittedly much prefer the original version by Rodney Crowell which was released about ten years earlier.

"Lovin' All Night" is just such an infectious energetic jam! Maybe didn't need to be a single, but it definitely serves as a nice uptempo counterpoint to many of the other songs on the album. The winner is pretty much guaranteed, so I guess it all comes down to "Grandpa" vs. "Don't Wanna Be" for RotB!!!! Let's go "I don't wanna be THAT STROOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG"!!!!

I”m hoping to see “Grandpa” out first as that would really be a perfect top two!!

I certainly appreciate the sentiment of “The Grandpa That I Know", but I just don’t happen to be very close to my own grandfather for a varying degree of reasons. Anyways, like I said this is the perfect top two (literally and figuratively lol!).

Given that the outcome was all but a given, “I Don't Wanna Feel That Strong" was the perfect song to finish as the runner-up. Great finish to what is a terrific album!

I did enjoy "Grandpa" well enough for what it is. I found the lyrics to be pretty moving. However, melodically it was just not something that I could see myself listening to on repeat. It's one of those songs that is kinda like "Smile" by Terri Clark, "I'm Trying" by Martina, "These Four Walls" by Sara, "You Never Gave Up On Me" by Reba, etc. that are well written and performed, but just not songs that I revisit as regularly as their usual output. Still look for it to do well on my album tracks list, despite the #10 here! "I Don't Wanna Be That Strong", on the other hand, captivated me from the first note, and has been on repeat ever since! This explosive chorus akin to stuff like "You Don't Even Know Who I Am" is Patty's bread and butter! She may not be a "belter" compared to some of her late-'90s peers, but she can absolutely pack just the right amount of oomph into a song like this to make it a true game changer! And of course "On Your Way Home" is perfect in every way and deserves this entry into the multi-rankdown-winner club Thanks for hosting castleoblivion26! Glad to have discovered this perfect album finally!

Those last place ranks for "Grandpa" WHAT?! "I Don't Wanna BE That Strong" is also great, but man oh man "Grandpa" is something else. If not for the title track (which is the correct and perfect winner here), it would be my #1. I don't have the best relationship with my grandfather as I did as a child, but this song still hit me hard. I'm glad it managed to collect the bronze! Thanks for hosting castleoblivion26! This is easily her best album imo!

This top 3 was perfect, even though I wanted "Grandpa" to be runner-up. It really is MESMERIZING. I had a great relationship with my grandpa on my mom's side growing up, but I didn't cry at his funeral because that's just how my emotions work... yet, I cry hard at this song. It's hands down my favorite discovery from doing her album RDs. Incredible the way the perspective of this song is written to describe a little girl at a funeral seeing her grandpa dressed in a suit not looking like the grandpa she knew him to be. It's such an unusual but REAL look at death.
