If you love Patty's voice a lot you will enjoy these albums a lot. If you don't care for bluegrass at all and Patty isn't your favorite vocalist (which btw is a choice, just saying...) then you may not love these lol I look forward to receiving your list, and everyone elses! |

Finally playing catch up a bit and the top 4 was perfect for OYWH, all modern* classics as far as I'm concerned!

The "Mountain Soul" albums are amazing as is the last two albums we'll be doing afterwards. She really was hitting such an amazing creative streak after Strong Heart and it's a shame she chose to retire. Good for her, just a shame to not know what could've been.

I forgot the On Your Way Home rankdown was back on and missed the real time reveals. Oh well. I can't be mad at any of the rankings, really, because for my money it's basically a perfect album so it's hard to rank.
Now onto another perfect album! Mountain Soul is easily one of the best albums of the 00s in any genre. And by best I mean top 10. Full stop.

A cappella style of Rise Up Lazarus doesn't help its chances in a rankdown like this.
I like the darker tune of Two Coats, especially when contrasting with generally brighter tunes of other parts of this album.

Aside from “Two Coats”, that’s three perfect rankings in a row plus a perfect ranking for last place...keep 'em coming!
I’m not entirely sure how things play out from here, but suffice to say that I think “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive” and “Cheap Whiskey” are likely top 2 bound. As for which songs are likely to leave next, I’ll guess “The Richest Fool Alive”, “Sorrowful Angels”, and “Out of Control Raging Fire” (although I’m feeling less confident on that prediction). Things get a bit tougher as we move along into the top 7 I think as everything from there on out is terrific.

There is nothing to like for Daniel Prayed to me.
The instrumental break of Soul Of Constant Sorrow elevates the song.

A little surprised to see Pretty Little Miss being quite polarizing. I thought it was a catchy pleasant song! Definitely did not expect multiple #14 ranks! Also, the score and the ranking of Someone I Used To Know doesn't look right castleoblivion26. |
