I also like the Gwyneth Paltrow & Huey Lewis cover of 'Cruisin' from 'Duets' (their version is where I know the song from). That cover version was a #1 hit here in Australia.

There's "Rise". I kind of expected that song to miss the top half, and I'm quite glad to be proven wrong. I was not expecting "How Do I Make You" to be this low, though.
I like "Heartache Tonight" enough, but the right Eagles song is highest.
how is my 74 still in

The Second Time Around Shalamar
Total Points: 1287
Billboard Hot 100: 8
Billboard Top 100 of 1980: 44
From: Big Fun
First single from the album Big Fun, "The Second Time Around" was a No. 1 hit on both the Hot Soul Singles and US Dance charts and peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in early 1980.
God scores the second perfect rank of the day with this leaving the rankdown...
This should at least crack into the top 20. Boy, I tell you... 🙄😏

50. More Love (70): I prefer synthpop Kim Carnes or her music with Kenny. I like the smoothness and sexiness of this one, but it stays a bit flat... 49. Little Jeannie (12): One of my top 5 1980s Elton songs. I consider it a retroactive personal chart-topper. I loe the melody in the chorus and outro, and the instrumentation and vibe of the song. My biggest loss so far :( This was one of our national yearend top 5s, too 48. Wait for Me (87): I like H&O a lot, but not with this type of music I've heard this one before -but quickly forgotten about it as well. Should've left some time ago. 47. The Long Run (86): Another one that should've already left, regardless of being an Eagles song. Far too monotonous. Well, finally I cleared my bottom 25!! 46. Steal Away (38): A nice disco/funk-influenced pop tune ala Doobie Brothers that was characteristic of the turn of the decade. A song I've always liked, especially the instrumentation and vocals. 45. You May Be Right (26): I wasn't too big of a fan back in the day, but with time I've grown to like the pure pop-rock sound of this one (riff highlighted). 44. Biggest Part of Me (48): Good to see it in the top half. A nice song to enjoy at sunset time :) 43. Into the Night (34): Great vocals here, and elegant music that I've always enjoyed... 42. Sailing (19): Another classic that I assumed was going to be somewhat tanked, just like stuff by Styx or Air Supply. This one of the biggest songs of the year and decade back home, and one of my favorite ballads of the early 80s. Love that breezy intro and that piano... 41. We Don't Talk Anymore (23): Another of those funk, disco, pop tunes that I do like quite a lot. Love the vocals and instrumentation.

Go Tom Petty Go!
Go Fleetwood Mac Go!
I would've already lost multiple top tens at this point (about two or three). Also hoping for the remaining Spinners song to make a run for the top 20 because that would've been really high on my list.

#40. How Do I make You - Linda Ronstadt My favorite Linda Ronstadt song. I think she performed this one on Saturday Night Live?
#39. No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) - Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer I like Disco, so naturally I like this song, but I like it's 90's High Energy cover even more. BTW, this is the music I was into in the 90s'. I'm proud to admit that my only true dance music phase was Eurobeat/Hi Energy music from Italy.
Ian Lex And Lisa - No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) (1990)
#38. Too Hot - Kool & The Gang One of the best and reliable disco pop bands of the 80's. This is a good slot for this Smooth R&B Disco song. #37. Let's Get Serious - Jermaine Jackson PPPP PERFCETION. Let's get serious here. Some of Jermain'e songs were better than his brother's.
#36. Cruisin' - Smokey Robinson Aside from "Tears of A Clown" I really wasn't into Smokey.
#35. Rise - Herb Alpert Seldom do I like songs without vocals. This sin't one of them.
#34. The Second Time Around - Shalamar Howard Hewett and Jody Watley's former disco group. This one seems like a perfect roller disco jam.
#33. Against The Wind - Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band This ain't no Old Time Rock N Roll that's for sure.
#32. Heartache Tonight - Eagles Clap along Rock N Roll done the correct way. Comon this is way better than the ballad.
#31. Ride Like The Wind - Christopher Cross You all just don't get Christopher Cross. He was a outstanding musician. This was one of his most rock influenced songs.

I used to hate Let My Love Open The Door. Now, I guess I'm relatively ok with it. But, its elimination means not just my bottom 50, but my bottom 60 is cleared, so byeeeeee

I rated this too way low. I’ve been playing the shit out of this since the Rankdown.

I should never be posting mid-reveal in these rankdowns because I always cause something bad to happen to me right after
