My #29 ranking of "One That Got Away" was generous, because Michael. Easily one of his weakest songs. ANYONE could sing this. It's your typical, run-of-the-mill, generic upbeat 2018 mainstream country song. I'm not that shocked or saddened to see it go already.
I like it for what it is. It is hella catchy, it can be fun to bop to occasionally. It's fun live. The music video is AMAZING though, oh my gosh. Michael looks fantastic and the lighting/colors are breathtaking lol. My fav vid of his so far.
And, um... you all had better not have tanked "Get To You' because that song is amazing and a million times better than this one!

"There Was This Girl" is pretty good for a 2018 country song... the key being for a 2018 country song, lol.

I'm sorry but my gosh the single worst line in 2018 with "I'm gonna hold her like a trophy". That line is so cringy. Also LBTrocks asking for me and zaclord not to tank Michael Ray would be like asking you not to tank High Valley. I will say that "There Was This Girl" clicked with me a few weeks ago and I would probably have it up in the 60s now. Still not sad to see it go.

Although I hope with the right song you wouldn't tank Michael just to tank Michael. I'd also hope that I wouldn't do that to High Valley either lmao.

"Everything's Gonna Be Alright" it's a fluff song, but it's good fluff. I still enjoy it on the radio.

"Everything's Gonna Be Alright" is so dreadful! I've never been a David Lee Murphy fan... and Kenny Chesney was pretty bad this year IMO.

"Want you to be my hottie riding shotty"๐ฉ๐ญ
Ugh, this guy is so painful with this song. Given how slow his song has climbed up the charts I don't think radio is enthused with him either and I doubt he lasts long in the genre..

I disliked "The Difference" from the first time I heard it, and it hasn't grown on me at all. There's just nothing good about it musically or lyrically. His voice is decent but kind of blah.

"Hangin On" remains absolutely dreadful. It's the worst song on the album, which is all-around awful.
To put it into perspective... I heard this song live twice when I saw Chris. Once during the VIP, he performed it acoustic. He sounded amazing! Still hated the song. Then he performed it during his actual show. Sounded phenomenal once again... once again, I hated the song. No matter which way you shake it.... I hate this song lmao.
Chris Young needs to go back to making great music again... so sad to see (easily) one of the best voices in country music recording such dreadful music. He used to be my favorite male country artist... I want that artist back!

"Everything's Gonna Be Alright" wasn't bad. It was an empty sentiment, but fine enough to hear.
"Hangin' On" was just... boring and generic.

I am surprised There Was This Girl is that low. It has a decent story, but I still cannot picture that guy having that kind of vocal. On the other hand the other non-eventful singles can leave asap. And there is one song on this list that sounds extremely similar to Hangin' On that I am still surprised no one has ever talked about that.

Not my favorite album but this was the second worst song after 'Fan Girl.' I LOVE "Forget About It'. I think that one could work as a single too.

Not sad about any of these leaving. Michael Ray and Riley Green's songs are especially bad. The others are more just bland. But no losses for me in that set. One more until my bottom 10 is cleared! But then I still have 101-105 and some of those are gonna last awhile longer...

You're already up to #95? Great, catchup time.
109. Meant to Be---I was expecting this one to hold on to the 90s. I still can't quite understand how this guy's reaction to "Convince me you're different from the others" is to say the same thing they told her and then the title. Because that makes a GREAT deal of difference. Oh, and whatever that pitch shifted part was following the second chorus can go away and never come back.
108. Hooked---Heh, a fishing metaphor for love? That's a bit different. At least it was better than Up Down.
107. All Day Long---Garth was fine as this song felt like a party song out of the 1990s. But then again, having grown up with Garth has allowed me to get used to his voice.
106. Get Down South---Montgomery Gentry, we were rooting for you. We were ALL rooting for you. How dare you do an inept bro-country song? Learn from this, MG.
105. Downtown's Dead---I was as surprised as anybody when this song flat out bombed. I found everything about this one bad. Hopefully while taking another sabbatical, Sam can learn about old school country music before coming back.
104. Three Chords and the Truth---Honestly, I prefer the other Chase to this one, who just seems like a fratboy trying to do country. Song isn't bad, but I'd bet the Sara Evans version is better done.
103. A Girl Like You---I didn't find it that bad, but I'm in the minority. Hoping Drowns the Whiskey does a lot better (like maybe 100 spots?) than this.
102. Kinda Don't Care---With a title like this, does anything need to be said? Didn't think so.
101. Sunrise, Sunburn, Sunset---I get that choruses are going to repeat, but this one was borderline obnoxious. It reminded me of that one headache treatment where you apply directly to the forehead. I'll take Hunting, Fishing, Loving Every Day over this. And a third perfecto already!
I swear if you were going to do Cole dirty, I'd have some things to say about it.
100. The One That Got Away---Lost me at the point he compared the girl to a trophy. That's a very Gravey thing to do. It's so bad I thought this was Dustin Lynch for a hot minute. Down to one song in my bottom 10 now.
99. There Was This Girl---Liked this song. Maybe it was his voice...or the presentation.
98. Everything's Gonna Be Alright---This probably deserved better. It's too inoffensive to deserved to be lumped with some of the other songs here.
97. The Difference---I think in retrospect, this is one song that would do worse on a re-listen. I wasn't paying that close attention to the lyrics (outside of maybe Rich).
96. Hangin' On---I don't think I've ever been into Chris Young, so finding one of his songs mediocre is no surprise. Fine with this leaving already.
