If they let every song chart, we'd probably have like, 40 Christmas songs. And "Can't Stop The Feeling!" might have been on the chart for like, 20 more weeks.

Congratulations iconic mother for her 27th top 5 hit on the Billboard charts! Wow! What an amazing career!💖💖
Congratulations to daughter for her continued run with her lone #1
And I don't know Heather or what she supposedly sings. Although her song With You is good!

chartf- the industry probably wouldn't like that, as it lessens chart potential for new hits. With the way things are going, I wouldn't bee surprised if the industry complains about all the holiday songs charting on the Hot 100, thus leaving Billboard little choice but to "examine the situation." owen- Elvis' stats always most come with an asterisk, keep in mind, as his overall success is even greater. :) But, yes, strictly in Hot 100 terms, that would be so. Hopefully Billboard won't change the rules for holiday songs - they already messed that up for decades when major holiday songs couldn't chart. The industry may not complain that much because it's only 3 or 4 chart weeks mostly during 'freeze' season. Plus, is this that different than consecutive multitrack album bombs that impact the entire H100 but only get 1 -3 total chart weeks?

If we took out the recurrent rule, all these songs would have charted last week: "Underneath the Tree" by Kelly Clarkson "Happy Holidays/The Holiday Season" by Andy Williams "Baby It's Cold Outside" by Dean Martin "Run Rudolph Run" by Chuck Berry "Please Come Home For Christmas" by Eagles "Jingle Bells" by Frank Sinatra "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" by Michael Buble "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" by Michael Buble "Frosty The Snowman" by Jimmy Durante "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra "Santa Tell Me" by Ariana Grande "I'll Be Home For Christmas" by Bing Crosby "O Tannenbaum" by Vince Guaraldi Trio "Hallelujah" by Pentatonix "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" by Bing Crosby "Do They Know It's Christmas?" by Band-Aid "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" by Thurl Ravenscroft "Christmas Time is Here" by Vince Guaraldi Trio "Linus & Lucy" by Vince Guaraldi Trio "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas" by Johnny Mathis "Christmas Canon" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra "Little Saint Nick" by The Beach Boys "Mary, Did You Know?" by Pentatonix "Santa Baby" by Eartha Kitt "Merry Christmas Darling" by Carpenters "Silver Bells" by Andy Williams
This is why we have the recurrent rule.

But it's supposed to be the top 100 songs of the week and the list is not accurate, but this has been discussed many times before.

The Hot 100 chart isn’t fun to look at anymore.

That would have been cool though. Maybe for one or two years but I could see myself and many other chart watchers get frustrated to see it happen every year

Pretty fun, unexpected top 10. All female top three is great. Would have been fun if Mariah went #1. Next up, Halsey pls.
RIP "Money" though. That was it's last chance to go top 10 I think.
Also y'all can't have it both ways. If you want Billboard to remove stuff like "Perfect", "Shape of You" and eventually "Girls like You", they also need to block some songs from re-entering.

No one cares to see a song chart from 5 years ago lingering on the chart. Thank God for album bombs that cleanse the chart of old washed up hits.

That would have been cool though. Maybe for one or two years but I could see myself and many other chart watchers get frustrated to see it happen every year I don't think it will happen every year like this. This year, there is no blockbuster dominant song/single at the end of the year. (Thank u, next is at the end tail of its dominant) I believe It gives all these Christmas songs a chance to have more streaming than usual for this season. Look at other part of the world, All I want for Christmas is You is #1 this week in Canada, Australia, France and New Zealand this week....so it is not just a unique thing happening to Hot 100. It just happen this season is a bit weird in chart-wise overall. So let see what happens next Christmas season, and we will see if this streaming trend for Christmas songs continue at this time next year.

I generally get annoyed by the album bombs, but the recurrent rules allow for more activity rather than "Can't Stop The Feeling!" and "Shape Of You" having 1234567 weeks on the chart.

Especially since streaming is the way to enjoy music nowadays. I should be more clear. I doubt 4 old Christmas songs in top 10 can repeat year after year. Because usually the dominant current single usually stream high too. Like last year, when current songs at that time, Rockstar, Perfect and 5 other songs were in a higher position in streaming chart than the first Christmas song. This year the Christmas songs are at top 2 in streaming chart but without some dominant hot current songs. So I believe if there are hot current songs happening next time this year and are streaming very well...I doubt any old Christmas songs can top the streaming chart again. (Although AIWFCIY is doing so well in streaming for the last several years....it maybe an outliner that it can do very well at streaming again next year and do something crazy in hot 100.)

Actually it is a "songs chart" - it says as much in their definition that they post at the top of every chart The Billboard Hot 100
This week's most popular songs across all genres, ranked by radio airplay audience impressions as measured by Nielsen Music, sales data as compiled by Nielsen Music and streaming activity data provided by online music sources.

If Mariah falls off the Hot 100 next week, will she break the record for biggest fall off the chart? Isn't the record currently from #9? The record is #4 (Purple Rain)
