I figured that Stevie won't last all that long. It's an oddball song coming from him, but it's a decent experiment.
I also think that's my highest loss so far, which is...surprising, to say the least.

Not sure if I'll be revealing tomorrow as I have an important job interview to prepare for but I will try to reveal 80-71.
A little belated ... but I hope you nailed your interview yesterday, Unhinged .

90. I Made It Through The Rain (95): First listen. Simply boring. Last listen. LOL 89. Sweet Baby (78): Another first listen. Nice melody and vocals in the chorus, but not strong enough to skip my bottom 1/4 88. The One That You Love (47): Of course .... strong melody, vocals, harmonies, that deserved a much higher position in this RD. 87. Living Inside Myself (84): Quite forgettable first listen. 86. Miss Sun (81): This is where songs started to get more interesting to me, at least musically. Still not as good as Jojo... Acceptable first listen. 85. How 'Bout Us (97): First listen and clear bottom 4 for me. 84. Stars On 45 Medley (38): !!! This was a BIG hit back home. I practically don't care for any of their other medleys, but this one was pretty good IMO. The first and last 45 seconds alone are an original disco jam! And the songs in the medley do flow and mesh well, with the studio singers doing a good job covering the classics and trying to sound like the original singers. Maybe I'm just very used to medleys or popourris as we also call them in Spanish. We've had a lot of them very popular, especially in the early 1980s. By the way, in 1990 a new version also received some rotation back home: Stars on '89: 83. Sukiyaki (93): I like the original by Kiu Sakamoto and the cover by 4PM; and I like Boogie Oogie... but I don't like this version at all. It's worth noting the stupidity / almost racism of naming a song by a Japanese artist after a Japanese dish. It's like naming a song by a New Orleans artist "Popeyes". Really? 82. Love On The Rocks (45): This should've been his highest song in this RD. SMH. Strong AC melody, music, and vocals. 81. Giving It Up For Your Love (77): This is a cute little bop, but not much more than that IMO.

Just think of all the classics from this decade that future generations will shake their heads at, as they try to make sense of pop culture in the 2010s. Attachment Deleted

Iβm still baffled at how Neil Diamond was so successful when almost all of his music was so bland.

I don't tend to have guilty pleasures, but "Lady" certainly fits as one. It's the type of song that I'd normally hate, but I think I'm allowed to like one or two of these songs at least once in my life. "This Little Girl" is a bigger loss, because I expected nothing out of "Lady".
We've gotten to the point now where one song has massively overstayed. I expected it, but it's still ridiculous.

80. (There's) No Gettin' Over Me (88): This is an ok ballad, but a bit too sappy --even for an Air Supply fan.
79. It's My Turn (68): I like her vocals and main melody, although it turns a bit repetitive...
78. Crying' (54): Pretty good cover, in terms of vocals and music. Good to see it survive bottom 20 here.
77. Cool Love (89): This was a first listen that didn't really convince me.
76. Step By Step (80):
75. Same Old Lang Syne (94): I hadn't heard this one before last Christmas when I saw that this had been a Christmas top 10. I wanted to like it, but I didn't get it.
74. The Boy From New York City (75): I remembered this one. I thought I was gonna rank it much lower, but in the end the melody won me over.
73. Time Is Time (91): I'm an overall fan of Gibbs music, including Andy, but this was a disappointing first listen. With this one, I'm clearing my bottom 10 :)
72. I Can't Stand It (83): Just good enough to avoid bottom 15. Eric has done so much better.
71. I Ain't Gonna Stand For It (76): Stevie is always at least interesting to listen to. This is not amongst his best, though.
