hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=314774&title=FLIPOVER-FRIDAY%3A-NEW-ARRIVALS-FROM-iTUNES-AND-APPLE-MUSICFriday, January 11, 2019 FLIPOVER FRIDAY: NEW ARRIVALS FROM iTUNES AND APPLE MUSICSam Smith’s duet with Fifth Harmony’s Normani steps into the Top 10 on iTunes songs chart while another Fifth Harmony member has a single knocking on the Top 10’s door this flipover Friday. Smith and Normani’s “Dancing With a Stranger” (Capitol) opens at #4, a strong showing for a record that came about when the two were recording next door to one another. Normani's groupmate, Lauren Jauregui, sits at #11 with “More Than That” (SYCO/Columbia) while Lana Del Rey’s lower case Wednesday release, “hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have—but I have it” (Interscope), is #13. Khalid f/Kane Brown’s “Saturday Nights” (RCA) is #14.

Was this the same source that said RiRi was 'definitely' releasing 1/4 and bombed that thread. People need to give those 'snatched' wigs back:) This chart week and next are worse than the Xmas Freeze. It's mid-January - let's get on with some new singles, please!

It's two radio edits are the most downloaded songs by Rhythmic radio stations according to All Access, while the ultra-clean and clean edits are the second and third most downloaded by mainstream pop stations. Let's see if all those downloads correlate to spins.

And "Breathin" was getting crazy updates before TUN was released. It probably would've peaked way higher on airplay if TUN wasn't in the picture.

So "breathin" isn't ever gonna crack the top 10, huh? Damn, that keeps happening to the songs I root for. They come so close and then, nope.

Another "Delicate", although this one didn't quite make it to #1 on the Pop chart. All things considered it did well. It had a lot of competition from "God is a woman" early on, and then of course "thank u, next" and "imagine" for a bit.

^OK. That makes more sense. Regarding the credit, you mean only for this chart in particular. Right?

Since December, you can filter by week on Pandora's Top Spins Chart but there is an error with WM and when you select any week from Dec. 7 to Jan. 4 the remix is #1.

Since the better known version of Do What U Want has been taken down from iTunes as well since last night, there is a version featuring Christina Aguilera charting in top 100.

Why has everybody turned on R. Kelly all of a sudden? I mean, I'm guessing it's something to do with sexual assault, but people have been talking about it for at least 15 years, probably more? So why is it on the 12th January 2019 that people decide he needs to stop being played on radio, etc? Has he confessed to everything? Has something even worse come to light? The only thing I can find is that there's been some kind of documentary, and the absolutely terrible mainstream media won't even outline what was in the documentary, instead they just decide to quote people's tweets, so I don't really have a clue why the sudden change. Who's initiated this?

I miss when you were a drake stan I love Drake, he was my second most streamed artist of the year last year and I will be supporting him with any new music he releases this year. Drake is one of my favorite artists other than Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish and Halsey.

Who's initiated this? People were aware he's had inappropriate relationships with minors in the past, however I believe it was ignored then (per Aaliyah marriage, sextape scandal) and never truly harmed him because they tried to paint it off as consenting relationships. As gross as it is, back then the social landscape was different, and people didn't care about artists dating teenagers if the 'teenagers were happy to be in the relationship'. His own lawyer keeps using Elvis being widely known for marrying a 16 year old girl to defend his actions. And there's the commonly known stories of rockstars sleeping with their teenage fans. A lot of people don't really understand that 'consent' doesn't really exist, when its a minor -- there's too much manipulation involved, especially when its a public figure. However the past year, it came to light he's been having relationships with underage females where he holds them hostage and has them in sex cults. That was the turning point with R. Kelly, as people changed views once they realize the girls in these relationships are being straight up forced. Ofcourse, the recent social landscape of holding men in power who abuse people accountable has also helped in turning the tide.

So the Imagine Dragons Believer Remix with Lil Wayne is doing some decent numbers Whoa whoa whoa a Believer remix with someone great at streaming I'm late! Just imagine if it pull through those good numbers and enough to return to the Hot 100 and do the one thing Radioactive almost did and being on the YE Hot 100 three times? Or Imagine Dragons releasing this while Believer was at its peak, then it could've got Believer to #1. {Spoiler} If that's the case, then Imagine Dragons better release a remix of Whatever It Takes with Post Malone and I'm good with that.

So the Imagine Dragons Believer Remix with Lil Wayne is doing some decent numbers Could it renter then if it gets above 26? Yes, as it is already behind the 25-52 week rule. And given the featured artist in it, the streaming gonna be huge, but I got no idea for sales and airplay.

So when is Ariana's next album coming out? I still think its far too early for the follow up to Sweetener. And it's not like Sweetener was a flop either, it did very well from the get go, so why rush all the subsequent singles at the risk of them sabotaging each other? (yes TUN did well, but it's rise at radio and prospects for #1 at pop are seeming to be more of a challenge). If TUN did so well right away, they could have waited a bit and it could easily do just as well, and it seems to have affected Breathin's chart placement, probably costing it top ten (which in turn probably thwarted GIAW, as it was released too soon after that as well); it just seems very unwise; pop artists are still very different from hip-hop artists, you can't just blitz them all at once and release 10 singles and expect them to all do well. It doesn't make economic sense either - the tried and true formula I think still stands for pop artists: release one single at a time with reasonable intervals in between to promote the album and maximize revenue from both singles and the album, and one album can last well over a year. It seems like the industry figured this out over forty years ago: why put out the expense of releasing 2 or 3 albums a year when you can release just one a year, or even more infrequently, save some production and marketing costs, and bring in just as much revenue, and in many cases securing higher chart placements. It seems like it was a bold try where she wanted to buck this trend, but it doesn't quite seem to be working.

She was in very dark place in her life and making music was the only thing that comforted her, so she just releases the songs when they are ready for her fan/to help her feel better
