What’s exactly ‘masterful’ about “Thank You, Next”?
Its literally a combination of Rihanna’s “Talk That Talk” and “Unapologetic” with elements of Beyonce’s “BEYONCÉ” updated to 2019 and the current Hip-Hop dominant era.
It’s a very good Urban-Pop album with heavy R&B and Trap influences. That’s it.
We’re not going to act like she’s built upon or finessed a sound that both mainstream and non-mainstream Black artists have been releasing since 2013.

Is shallow THAT good of a song for it to still be #1 on iTunes? Soundtracks usually appeal to older audiences that still use iTunes (see also, The Greatest Showman), it's got buzz from the Grammys and the Oscars and the #1 song sold only 39k last week so it's not exactly a lot of people buying it. "7 rings" is above it now though. |
