Wish we couldβve gotten sales updates for maroon 5. Would love to see where their singles are The reception for the halftime show wasnβt well-received so the singles wonβt make much impact. 434% sales gain

The reception for the halftime show wasnβt well-received so the singles wonβt make much impact. 434% sales gainΒ Given that they was probably barely any sales before since the songs were released 15 years ago, itβs no big deal

In total, the songs performed during the halftime spectacular (including guest turns by Travis Scott and OutKastβs Big Boi) combined to sell 25,000 downloads on Sunday, Feb. 3, the day of the big game. That marked a 434 percent increase from their combined sales a day earlier: 5,000.
Maroon 5βs Six Songs Up 587 Percent: Focusing on just the six Maroon 5 songs the band played, the gains are even more pronounced. Combined sales of βHarder to Breathe,β βThis Love,β βGirls Like You,β βShe Will Be Loved,β βSugarβ and βMoves Like Jaggerβ rose by 587 percent (climbing from nearly 3,000 sold on Feb. 2 to 18,000 sold on Feb. 3).
Maroon 5βs Catalog Up 488 Percent: In total, Maroon 5βs entire catalog of songs -- not just the six tracks the act performed on the halftime show -- logged a 488 percent sales gain (up from 4,000 on Saturday to 24,000 on Sunday).

Songs About Jane is a gem though. I might have to dust that one off and give it a listen soon. It was one of my go-to early spring albums in the last decade.

Yeah 434% from very little is not much. Enough to keep GLY in top ten though but nothing else by them will chart.

Yeah, I agree that percentages without hard numbers mean very little. Out of 98M people watching only 24,000 albums and 18,000 songs sold is nothing.
Only three songs crack top 200 on Spotify: "Girls Like You" at #54 with a 39 spot bump, while "She Will Be Loved" debuts at #128 and "What Lovers Do" appears at #194. Under a million streams from those three.
Only "Sugar" and "Girls Like You" crack top 100 on Youtube.

LOL - The expectations that the 100M people who watch the football game are there for the halftime show is a bit of a stretch.
Regardless of the artist (Maroon 5 or otherwise) only a portion of the 100M people will watch the game for the halftime show. Meaning, for only a portion, the halftimes show is the main attraction of Super Bowl day. Of those, only a portion will by the songs.
Most of the 100M that tuned in were likely there to watch football and only watch the halftime show because it is what is being shown

Wow - Tequila re-entered at #29 on the Hot 100.
It peaked at #18 on the Hot 100 Airplay in July 2018, but it's now re-entered at a new peak - #14 on airplay. I guess Billboard considered this and allowed it to re-enter?
I'm surprised they didn't fix this situation sooner. They need to fix their recurrent rules - I think it's ridiculous that songs that are still top 15 on airplay are dropping out of airplay charts but still remain on sales/streaming charts.

Considering the time of the game, the impact would be felt as much or more on Monday. The sales figures are still small in a general sense, but we also shouldn't say only 18,000 of 98 million people bought their songs.

Most of the 100M that tuned in were likely there to watch football and only watch the halftime show because it is what is being shown I don't disagree but the numbers are still pretty bad. I never said most people were actually actively watching for M5 or even really cared (which is why stan twitter gets on my nerves when they try to claim Katy's "record vierwership" when really it always comes down to the actual game being able to sustain the interest of 100M people through a pop show they don't really care about). But BEP, Gaga, Coldplay and even Beyonce and Katy who had no current singles at the time managed to rule the iTunes chart after their shows. As of now it looks like a modest bump for GLY on the Hot 100 where it was already huge anyways and not much else. With downloads being down overall, you need a very small portion of viewers to buy your song to get close to the top spots on iTunes yet Lady Gaga is still #1 there and GLY is #6 and going down.

So what's the deal with Tequila? Is it gonna keep climbing or was this a fluke bump up that will be gone quickly?

I kind of feel like 'Bury a Friend' is going to mess with everyone who is rooting for it to hit the Top 10, and jump up only to #11 and peak there without making it to the Top 10. I'm indifferent about that song so I'm just interested in seeing how high it can manage to get this week.
I always feel bad for songs that peak at #11, even if I don't like them.

Also that Rihanna, Halsey and Ariana collaboration was posted by Pop Crave for a supposed release last month that never happened.

What's the exact recurrent rule for the airplay chart? I noticed some songs got removed from the airplay chart as soon as they dropped out of Hot 100 Digital Song Sales and Streaming Songs don't have this kind of ridiculous recurrent rule, right?

Yes, as soon as a song leaves the Hot 100, it's removed from the Radio Songs chart, and there are no recurrent rules for the Digital Songs and Streaming Songs charts.
