Please me is a step in a new direction after using invasions of privacy to show people who she is and how and why she became Cardi B. Now it’s time to show people what she is into. It’s one of those songs that are like more long term. I’m expecting it to Murders urban rhythmic and urban ax and do ok on pop. Can see a top 10 debut and then fall and then rise once a video is out. Glad we will get some movement in the top 10

“Please Me”.
• Spotify - WW: 20 (+1) Please Me by Cardi B | 2.153.647 (+147k) • Spotify - U.S:
18 (-3) Please Me by Cardi B | 881.001 (-2k)
It’s still currently top ten on iTunes U.S and is holding steady in the top five of Apple Music and is doing well on YouTube.
The song certainly isn’t outright flopping but is definitely underperforming. The only factor, thus far, that we can depend on giving the song longevity on the Hot 100/in the top ten is radio (where it’s currently soaring) as it looks like it’ll peak somewhere in the lower half before falling.
Hopefully the video will also give it a huge boost when it’s finally released.
Personally speaking, the song is completely banal anyhow. They used a sample from another Classic R&B song and yet took it nowhere. I’m still not sure if it’s Cardi on the verses or Bruno on the hook that I dislike more.

This is not a drill 🚨 @pink is dropping new track 'Walk Me Home' at 8am tomorrow morning. P!nk has had extraordinary endurance for a female singer. Most major female acts can't beg a big hit after 15 years. Madonna got to about 17 years. Mariah to 18. If this impacts, it'll be 19 years since P!nk had her first big hit.

This is not a drill 🚨 @pink is dropping new track 'Walk Me Home' at 8am tomorrow morning. P!nk has had extraordinary endurance for a female singer. Most major female acts (and yes, that includes Mariah and Bey) can't beg a big hit after 15 years. Madonna got to about 17 years. If this impacts, it'll be 19 years since P!nk had her first big hit. I don't disagree with your post but depending on your criteria, Madonna has actually had hits for a span of 25 years (1983 to 2008). I know she slowed down after 2002's "Die Another Day", but she still had "Hung Up" and "4 Minutes" after. (And a very minor forgetable top 10 in 2012 but I really don't think that one meant much). Mariah also got a nice 18 year streak (1990 to 2008 with "Touch My Body". She may have slowed down a bit during the early 2000s but 2005's Emancipation is arguably her commercial and critical peak). Rihanna is about to go into year 14 of her career, which is crazy. We'll see with P!nk. 17 years is a great run but I feel like "What About Us" peaking at #13 is probably way too high for the next single. The album did sell really well so she's still got a big fanbase and anything could happen. I don't think any of our "current" pop ladies has proven herself yet as someone who will be able to go 10+ years into their careers and keep getting hits, aside from Ariana, obviously... but hey we said the same thing about Rih, Gaga and even Katy and they're still relevant (don't come @ me for the Katy thing but I believe the "365" track will eventually catch on).

rockgolf and Choco seem to be forgetting Mariah had a top 10 with "Obsessed" 19 years into her career. We'll see how the new P!nk impacts, but if you're saying the #13 peaking "What About Us" impacted (and I would agree it did), then you bring in non-top 10s like Mariah's "#Beautiful" and have to expand her timeline. Pink's last top 10 was in 2016.

Again would depend on your criteria... but Mariah did have a very recent top three entry Also do you only count streaks where people had hits through all those years? Otherwise, Cher's 1965-1999 run might be unmatched for eternity. 34 years.

Holy crap that Melly guy actually killed people. What is going on?! R. Kelly can't have his music on streaming platforms but Melly can?! It's because Melly is popular with the kids, the same reason why XXXTentaclePorn and 6ix9ine have hits despite being assholes. They get streamed a lot thus bringing Spotify, Apple Music, etc. more traction and money. Also doesn't help that last year Spotify tried taking X off the platform but "Woke" Kendrick Lamar threatened to take his own music off so Spotify backed out. They are probably avoiding that happening again.

R. Kelly's music is still on streaming services, just few of his features were deleted. Ignition Remix has 372M listens on Spotify.

Just a few artists that did collaborations with him have removed those tracks, and that's totally up to the artist, not the streaming platform. Spotify tried out blacklisting artists from certain playlists, but it was met with poor reception. Now they just have a feature where you can block an artist, leaving it to the consumer.

I personally feel like "Beautiful" was a minor hit because I know people who still remember it and may not even care all that much about MiMi.

In order for a remix to be counted on the Hot 100, it has to do more than the original, correct?

That P!nk song sounds like it will be an AC/HAC smash with some pop curiosity spins, but I think she's probably done having big Hot 100 hits. She and her audience have grown up and that's not who typically runs the charts. But even if that turns out to be the case it's okay...she's had a phenomenal career and will be a touring powerhouse for as long as she wants to do it. It's very easy to imagine her doing sell-out arena shows decades from now, similar to Elton John and Billy Joel. No one gets hits forever!

Taylor Swift can fill Staples Center 4 times over even if her next album has 0 top ten hits (which I'm p sure won't be the case... but you get the point)

The Billboard GOAT Songs ranking isn't updated, is it? I feel like "Perfect" was on it when they did the 60-year thing. Also it has the Four Tops at #44 with "It's All in the Game", now that can't be right.

All In the Game should be credited to Tommy Edwards lol

Another female singer with a long run of hits would be Diana Ross - counting the Supremes (and I think you should) she had 20 years, from 1964 to 1984, of hitting pretty consistently.
Aretha also had about 20 years of hit making - 1967 to 1987 between top tens - with lower charting records from 1961 to 1998, but she had a slump from 1976 to 1985 where she only hit the top 40 once so if consistency counts that would probably disqualify her.
