I could literally say the same thing about the Hot 100. The world wouldn't stop. And the fact people are bitching that people talk about them would defeat that first assertion. Something's not a fact just because you say it's a fact. Wrong. The Billboard Hot 100 is a measure of popularity all labels look at week by week to determine if their marketing strategies have been fruitful. So I SAID WHAT I SAID. So the world will stop if the Hot 100 discontinued? Please. Labels already have access to data. This is mainly for public. Yeah, sorry. Again, saying something is true, does not make it true. The evidence here is against you.

Is it to accomodate you? Please. Don't be delusional.

It could've been just like SoundScan. And I repeat, you say something is a fact doesn't make it a fact.

Luke Combs Becomes Second Artist to Lead All Five Country Charts Simultaneously
3/5/2019 by Jim Asker
Combs joins Kane Brown as one of only two artists to pull off the high-five.
For only the second time, all five of Billboard's main country charts are led simultaneously by a single artist, as Luke Combs rules Top Country Albums, Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay, Country Streaming Songs and Country Digital Song Sales (all dated March 9).
Kane Brown first achieved such a quintuple coronation in 2017.
"This is a great day," says Combs. "From being chosen as one of Billboard's artists to watch in 2017 to now topping all five charts is very humbling. This doesn't happen unless radio and the fans embrace the music and me as much as they have. That is the best part: that I get to wake up every day and do this. I appreciate everyone supporting me and the music."
Combs' "Beautiful Crazy" (River House/Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville) tops all four country song charts for a second straight week. The ballad, written by Combs, Wyatt Durrette and Robert Williford, paces the airplay-, streaming- and sales-powered Hot Country Songs chart for a second week. On Country Airplay, it also leads for a second frame, up 4 percent to 40.5 million audience impressions in the week ending March 3, according to Nielsen Music. Concurrently, "Crazy" dominates Country Streaming Songs for a second week, gaining by 3 percent to 12 million U.S. streams in the week ending Feb. 28. It leases the penthouse on Country Digital Songs Sales for a fifth frame (12,000 sold, down 21 percent in the week ending Feb. 28).
A week earlier, Combs just missed crowning all five surveys, as his debut LP, This One's for You, ranked at No. 2 on Top Country Albums. On the new, March 9 tally, the set returns to the summit for a 27th week on top, ascending 2-1 with 25,000 equivalent album units (down 1 percent) in the week ending Feb. 28.
The album dethrones Florida Georgia Line's Can't Say I Ain't Country (Big Machine Label Group), which dips to No. 2 (22,000 units, down 56 percent). The LP became FGL's fourth Top Country Albums leader, and third to start at the pinnacle, when it arrived atop the March 2-dated chart with 50,000 units.
As Combs leads all five of Billboard's main country charts, he joins only Brown in having pulled off the sweep. Notably, both acts record for Sony Music Nashville.
Brown first achieved the feat by simultaneously topping the tallies dated Oct. 28, 2017. That week, "What Ifs," featuring Lauren Alaina, controlled Hot Country Songs, Country Airplay and Country Streaming Songs; "Heaven" arrived atop Country Digital Song Sales; and his self-titled debut LP led Top Country Albums.
The chart achievements keep rolling for the 29-year-old Combs, from Asheville, N.C. On the March 2-dated Country Airplay chart, "Crazy" became Combs' fifth total and consecutive career-opening No. 1, the most by any artist out of the gate. "Crazy" followed Combs' first four Country Airplay leaders: "She Got the Best of Me," "One Number Away," "When It Rains It Pours" and his debut hit "Hurricane."
All five songs are on the deluxe edition of his debut LP, which bowed atop the June 24, 2017-dated Top Country Albums chart and led for three more weeks that year. It returned to the top on June 16, 2018, following the arrival of its deluxe version, and has added another 22 weeks at No. 1 through the latest ranking.

Lady Gaga Reacts to 'Shallow' & 'A Star Is Born' Soundtrack Hitting No. 1: 'I Couldn't Be More Proud'
3/5/2019 by Hilary HughesFrazer Harrison/Getty Images Lady Gaga attends the 24th annual Critics' Choice Awards at Barker Hangar on Jan. 13, 2019 in Santa Monica, Calif. "Shallow" and A Star Is Born have several trophies to show for their triumphant 2019 awards season, but now, Lady Gaga is beyond proud as the single and the hit soundtrack from her film debut continue to win atop the charts. After "Shallow" rose to No. 1 on the Hot 100 on Monday (March 4) and the A Star Is Born soundtrack reached the penthouse of the Billboard 200 on Sunday (March 3), Gaga took to Twitter to express her gratitude and pride for her A Star Is Born and her work on its music. "I can’t believe the soundtrack and 'Shallow' are number one this week," she wrote, punctuating the thought with a tearful emoji. "I couldn’t be more proud of this film and the entire team behind it." The ascent of "Shallow" comes just a week after her affectionate performance with Bradley Cooper at the 91st Academy Awards on Feb. 24, where she also took home the Oscar for best original song. The A Star Is Born soundtrack also enjoyed a surge following the ceremony, and returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, where it previously held the top spot for its first three weeks on the chat in Oct. 2018. The album has now spent 21 weeks on the chart, and hasn't left the top 10 once since its debut. I can’t believe the soundtrack and “Shallow” are number one this week -- I couldn’t be more proud of this film and the entire team behind it. Thank u so much. -- t.co/CfmmNSH1P8

The Hot 100 doesn't even provide much in the way of information. $$$ probably and exposure The size and shape of the chart, all the quirky rules that go into positioning, weights applied in the formula, etc. Not once did I ever get consulted on that, nor did anyone else not directly tied to the industry either. Labels have access to the data for a fee If the Hot 100 doesn't provide much info, you can look elsewhere to get what you are missing

So why exactly is Baby Shark holding up so well in the Top 40? I'm assuming YouTube but that can't be the only reason.

wtf, is it not a mistake that murder on my mind is only at #15 right now? many people here predicted it to most likely enter top 10 and apparently it turns out it dropped a spot?

Radio Songs This Week Last Week Two Weeks Ago Weeks Title, Artist Peak 7 7 6 38 Girls Like You , Maroon 5 Featuring Cardi B 1 35 weeks in top 10 for GLY such a radio craziness of this era If Billboard compiles the all-time chart for radio songs, GLY has a crazy shot at #1 as of now (35+ weeks in top 10 and 16 weeks at #1 vs. Shape of You's 38 weeks in top 10 and 12 weeks at #1). Shape of You got a challenger already? Haha. Funny despite the weakness of the weekly top 10 points for Hot 100 is right now, the component charts got some real longevity icons.

Feel the thunder!I've always been so confused as of where the f**k did their recurrent streams come from when they're vanished from most charts. Hardcore fan-made videos? Someone recorded himself singing Thunder on a toilet?

Red-headed longeeeeeeeeeevity! From the chart history I collected so far no other song has ever spent more than 75 weeks in Digital Song Sales' top 50. Thunder has the second best stat, right?

But all they ever put on their website (including .biz) and magazines were 50 positions. #51-#75 are behind the curtains. Billboard's been acting so shady, I've been feeling it lately. Where can you even get the #51-#75 portion of Digital Songs? From another planet?

(all from Billboard.Biz) Difference is, I have been doing this a long time. When I copied them from .biz the charts were 75 spots deep. Having just looked I see they have since trimmed that back since.

Going to those Hot 100 archive links from Gary is hilarious: Seeing the early Hot 100 threads from 2005 being one page!
I've been here since 2003 and don't remember that level of indifferent disinterest. The power of the Airplay-Only Hip-Hop era.

One page thread?
Well we either knew when a “quality”, “iconic”, “legendary” artist was releasing a “signature song” as an “event single” or just didn’t care?
Or maybe they didn’t have year end charts back then. LOL
