"So It Goes..." is one of the best reputation songs. There, I said it.

It's crazy how different all of our tastes are, LOL.... it sounds like we all agree that reputation is a very solid album, though.

I always skip "So It Goes", "Dress", and "King of My Heart." I enjoy every other song on reputation. @ you naming my favorite songs on the album, other than New Year's Day and Getaway Car. Those 5 are the only ones I go to on reputation now. I can't believe that the album is coming next Friday and so far, we have only heard 3 out of 18 songs! I don't really follow internet conspiracies or listening sessions attendees on Twitter, so I have no idea what to expect, other than to be devastated by the song about her mom. If it is anything like Ronan, I am definitely NOT ready.

At the very least I think we all love "Delicate" and "Getaway car"... right?

Re: reputation 2 years later
There technically isn't a song on the album I dislike, but my god TIWWCHNT is still so childish and bottom of the barrel for her.
New Year's Day is one I don't play often because I just can't seem to really get into it aside from the "please don't ever become a stranger" section, and really I think I only love that part because it's super reminiscent to the "please don't be in love with someone else" section in Enchanted. It's not a bad song by any means and quite frankly it's aged better than a good chunk of the album for me, but it's just not one of my go-tos.
Dress used to be like NYD for me, but damn that song just clicked with me recently. Probably the song that has aged the best for me.
That being said, it's still nowhere near my favorite tracks, which at this point in time I'd say is a glorious quadruplet of Delicate, LWYMMD, CIWYW, and SIG. I'm still upset Taylor pays SIG complete dust. Honorable mentions for DWOHT, DBM, and GC for tracks I revisit often.
As for the opposite end, tracks that I like less now than before, the track that has aged the worst is, probably not surprisingly, End Game. The "big reputation" hook still slaps but the rest just falls flat. KOMH is probably the other track that has aged poorly for me. Gorgeous and IDSB have pretty much remained neutral. Don't get me wrong, though, all of them are still miles better than Taylor's rendition of a Max Martin forced Avril Lavigne track.

Anyone else not going to listen to any new songs before the album? Maybe it’s a case of getting older, but like, I can wait a week.

Yeah, I actually don't mind End Game at all in a party or chill setting. It's a very, laid-back song. This Is Why...sounds like an Annie musical reject and, while I don't hate it, it's extremely juvenile (just like Me! and You Need To Calm Down). You Need To Calm Down actually reminds me a lot of This Is Why..., just slightly more tolerable.
I will forever be annoyed by the Call It What You Want...to. I don't know if it's the grammar Nazi in me, but it really bothers the fuck out of me. The song itself is nice, but I prefer the stripped down version she performed on SNL (at least, I think that's where she performed it?)
I totally forgot about Delicate, but I loved it. It actually didn't grow on me until it became a single.
New Year's Day is what I want from Taylor. To me, it epitomizes what she does best. It paints a very vivid story and is so beautiful, musically and lyrically. It is also, hands down, for me, the most relatable song that Taylor has written. EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. WORD. I have been there, living those lyrics, time and time again. When all is said and done, it will easily sit in my top 5 of Taylor songs, next to Ronan, All Too Well, You Are In Love, and This Love. BIG shoutout to runner-up Last Kiss though. While Me and You Need To Calm Down were cute Kids Bops, The Archer falls in line with my faves and what I need and want from Taylor Swift. If she can give me at least TWO others like it, I will be satisfied with this new album.

Separate thought, separate post. Don't warn me.
I remember when my second favorite group of all time, Kings of Leon, were releasing their masterpiece Walls and there was a rumor that Taylor had ghostwritten one of the songs. I think the internet settled on the song Over. Listening to The Archer again, it reminds me of a more stripped-down version of Over, which is also a tour de force. There is a lot more instrumentation, but also a lot of space at the end. There was nothing particularly Taylor-y about the lyrics of that song, but maybe "I'll hang around forever until you cut me down, all pressed and ready to face the crowd" could be something she could think up, although it's about Caleb's friend's suicide. Anyway, my $2.25.

Plus when she did Long Live/New Year's Day and gave her lil speech at my show I was dying.

I don’t really skip any songs I just end the album at “Call It What You Want”. I’ve started enjoying “New Year’s Day” a bit though.

My favs from Reputation are "Look What You Made Me Do" (my favorite still), "Ready For It", "Dancing With Our Hands Tied" (criminally underrated), "Delicate", and "Call It What You Want To" (should've been a single).
Bottom of the barrel for me is still "Gorgeous" and "Dress". Melodically and lyrically "Gorgeous" is just extremely lazy and mediocre. It is an effortless production in all the wrong ways. "Dress" just had sparse production and wasn't emotionally captivating enough to offset the lack of a real strong hook for me (shame as lyrically it is one song that shows a natural maturation for Taylor). I understand the distaste for "So It Goes" as well, which I personally attribute to the verses of the song, as the chorus knocks for me.

Yesssssss people with taste STAN New Year's Day, not Dancing With Our Dicks Out or Call It Bad Grammar If You Want To. Also, Dress is fun fucking music, unless you move your hips like a geriatric.

Will someone educate me on the bad grammar in call it what you want. To avoid a more lengthy "Call it what you want to call it," she ends a sentence with a dangling preposition. When I was learning basic grammar, it was considered incorrect, just like saying "Her and [insert name here] worked on a remix" is poor grammar because you can't say "Her worked on a remix" LOL. That said, strong grammatical skills are becoming a thing of the past, so Taylor can do whatever she wants to. Most of her fans don't notice anyway. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

How do you all think Lover will do on streaming? It being 18 tracks long should definitely help.

Apparently “Lover” is getting a music video next week. Is it a proper single then?

Hmmm so maybe "Lover" is third and "Cruel Summer" is 4th. I hope "Lover" is a hell of a lot better than the first two singles then. She needs to deliver tonight!

I know I’m gonna sound stupid but I’m a bit less excited now that this is the third single. Unless it isn’t.
This album rollout seems pretty weird. Still curious to hear the song. Have high expectations from what I’ve heard about it.

Yeah, supposedly, from sessioners, "Lover" is a wedding song through and through. Very romantic. Unsure of how its production/melodic quality measures, in terms of single success, but we will find out. Something tells me, based on what we have so far, to lower my expectations, so yeah, they aren't high atm. lol
The album has been likened to if 1989 and Speak Now had a baby. If this album is the pop equivalent to Speak Now, Idgaf how it performs, I will be happy. lol
