I am continuing to be underwhelmed with her material this era. Like... I haven't hated anything, but at the same time I know she is capable of so much better than what she is delivering. Still looking forward to the album, nonetheless.

She thinks it prevents leaks or whatever. Last two cycles we got the tracklist the day before release, when someone had already leaked the back cover online.

"Lover" is my favorite of the new songs she's released so far though. It's a nice callback to "Speak Now" with a bit more reverb. But I've always preferred stripped down, lyrically-driven Taylor to super synthy, trying-to-be-a-cool-pop-star Taylor.

YESSSSS Taylor give me more vibes and grooves. I am very excited for next week. The fever pitch is coming at the perfect time. She was smart to drop Lover because maybe even new people will fall in love with her based on that song and then hear other quality like Archer and whatever we haven't heard and buy the album!

Honestly I kind of think it isn't despite the video? 5 million streams first day on the Spotify counter though which is great (better than The Archer), maybe it can debut at #1 on US Spotify. I fully expect it to drop after the first day but hoping for at top 20 Hot 100 debut.
