These theories about Taylor releasing new music, always happens a lot between eras. I remember in 2016/2017, there were rumours of a surprise album drop for the Formula 1 and Super Saturday Night concerts. Been a fan of Swift for a long time and can't wait for whenever the lead single for TS7 comes.

I know "Getaway Car" picked up a bunch of adds but do we actually know if Big Machine sent it for adds? Or are some stations randomly adding this song? No, we don't. We don't know whether it was truly sent for adds, whether it's just stations randomly adding it to capitalize on the recent buzz, if stations are adding it in connection with the iHeart awards, if it's just a glitch with Hits Daily Double's version of the add board, if these adds are a "cover" for a new Taylor single that they're adding, or any other possible explanation. All we have is that Erik Bradley, MD of Chicago's B96, said that Getaway Car was definitely not sent to radio / is definitely not the next single. |

Getaway Car was not sent for adds, it just received 8 adds spontaneously. It's unlikely it will receive any more adds past that and that it will even chart.
Also, if a Taylor Swift song went for adds on pop, it would receive way more than 8 adds.

There is very obviously something going on. She’s appearing at the iHeart Awards, she’s fully switched up her ~aesthetic~ on Instagram, and she’s playing around with fan theories on social media. Something is coming down the pipeline.

I am loving that Elle cover. I can’t wait to read what she has to say about her experiences. Should be a good read. Also, I’m so hyped up for her new album. I know I shouldn’t be since we don’t know when it’s coming out, but I’m such a fan of this girl. I’m still enjoying 1989 and Reputation. “So It Goes” will forever have my heart. I’m shook with all the possibilities of what she could be doing with her next album. I can’t wait to hear what it sounds like.

It's a quote from her Elle essay. It's a good essay, overall she comes off really likeable. There's a few eyerolling moments (bringing up the snake thing, calling out her bullies again) but it's refreshing to see her speak so candidly and vulnerably. |

I think if it's coming soon, we might potentially get some sort of announcement in the coming week (during iHeart Radio Awards, perhaps?). The really overoptimistic side of me wants to hope for a single announcement during the awards show (14th) and then the first single as the clock ticks over to midnight (Friday, 15th). But the logical side of me knows there's not that much pointing to that.

If she still does some songs with the Swedes, I hope she mixes it up and works with some of Max Martin's other collaborators instead of just Martin & Shellback. All of his best songs with Ariana, The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding and Demi Lovato have had assists from Ilya Salmandazeh, Savan Kotecha and/or Ali Payami, there's also Oscar Holter who did Secrets with P!nk, Run Away With Me and Dancing With Our Hands Tied.

I’m not really holding my breath for any big news at the iHeart awards (although I’d like it). She’s attended in the past merely to keep her relationship with radio on good terms and acknowledge their support. And is she not receiving some sort touring award or something?

If she launches at iHeart it will be mainly to get support from their radio stations in exchange for giving them better ratings, not because the awards show itself will give her a significant amount of exposure. For that to work properly, she'd have to let her fans know that there's a good reason to watch - ie she'll be performing / launching new music. I don't think we'll get a surprise performance / song release, if she does either of those she should give us at least a few hours heads up IMO. She's supposed to win the top tour award, and is a contender for best MV with Delicate, so she'll still attend because of that no matter what. |

The iHeart just says "An Appearance by" There is no performance or anything of note. They are either mentioning this because she will be there to accept her award or because shes presenting another one. It will have nothing to do with a new era.
