Isn’t it obvious at this point that she’s putting out the Netflix documentary on her birthday(or the day after)? I can’t see her dropping anything Christmas-related this late in the Christmas season. I can see that happening, but she wants to use her previous work for that and I don't know if they've allowed her to do so. The AMAs were one thing but they haven't approved the documentary yet (last I recall; maybe they have and I was oblivious) Also I would think getting approval for using her songs and performance footage in the doc is not something they'd do at the end of the process of making it? |

The fact that Netflix is premiering this at Sundance as one of their submissions is instead of just tossing it on to the service is huge. Not saying this will win or even be nominated for an Oscar, but 3/5 of last year's Best Doc. nominees were premiered at Sundance. BTW, Lana Wilson (the director) also directed another doc a few years ago called After Tiller that everyone should watch. |

Is this her first time releasing Christmas material? As Glove Slap said, she had an EP in 2007, but it barely qualifies as listenable. "Last Christmas" is fine, and "Christmas Must Be Something More" had potential, but the rest.. yeesh. And I say that as a total stan. Hopefully this song doesn't make even her fans cringe. |

Ok so now I can give him a bit of revenue now cause I've been wanting to listen to a few hits from Red lately! If he's gonna finally be fair like that then it's only fair to be fair back. About the Christmas release: the song is called "Christmas Tree Farm." At the AMAs red carpet and in one of the Vogue photos she wore green. The ME! music video contained what Taylor called a hint that (as she had wanted a few things to do) would be known in context MUCH later on. That hint was the Christmas tree in the background. And the thing about her parents owning a Christmas Tree Farm? The music video is made from home videos. This woman does absolutely NOTHING on accident. Also props to her quick self! She wrote and recorded this in a single WEEK. |

'White Christmas' and 'Silent Night' are horrific, and were even back then.
The birthday boy original song is...odd.
'Christmases When You Were Mine' is a fine listen but its more a breakup song than a holiday tune, as mentioned above. I LOVE 'Santa Baby' still and her rendition of "Last Christmas" is the best one around.
Ready for a new holiday song, but my expectations are not super high.

She was probably planning on this song in May knowing her tho lol She’s probably had the concept of CTF for awhile. And simply polished it up and recorded it. Stevie Nicks and Jewel have done that quite often. Ideas that are there for months or years and then it just clicks. Taylor is a prolific writer so it would not surprise me one bit. Looking forward to this unexpected release. |
