City of Lover was obviously amazing. "Cornelia Street" really is one of the best songs of her career. But I can't help but wonder.... will we ever get a live performance of "Cruel Summer"? I neeeeeed it!

When Taylor eventually re-records her albums and releases them, I NEED her to release her debut first. I want to see all of her albums reach #1 and what a fun way to do it. I’m sure if she offered bundles and a couple new songs she could do it easily on a weaker weak.

The "Cornelia Street" and "Death By a Thousand Cuts" live performances are some of the best things she's ever done. Absolutely perfect, 10/10.
She should really take the fantastic iTunes/streaming performance of CS/Daylight/DBATC (live performances of album tracks) as a guide for future albums. People crave singer/songwriter Taylor, and she should heed their desires.

Taylor is a jack of all trades, which is part of the reason she is so successful. She will always give singer/songwriter Taylor, but she also aims for something with larger significance, thus her very successful foray into the pop world. She also knows to keep people's interest, she can't keep doing the same thing over and over. She is smart not to just remake Speak Now and Red over and over again, even if they are her best albums (sorry not sorry, 1989).

She sounds fantastic in Daylight (Live). She may not have the skills of a top-notch vocalist, but her timbre is pretty, no denying that.

My favorite of the night (that we got to see/get to hear in crystal quality) is hands down "Cornelia Street." In fact, those vocals and that production oughta just been the studio version and then released as a promo single, perhaps rather than "The Archer" (as much as I adore that song)

I already commented, but I feel the need to comment again - the "Cornelia Street" performance is hands down one of Taylor's best performances of her entire career. Every time I listen to it, I get teary, I get goosebumps, or both. The passion and the quality of her vocals, particularly on the chorus, is truly top notch. I do love the album version - the production is very different for her, and I like that she's a bit more restrained, but I love how this live version offers a stripped down instrumental and she really lets loose on the vocals.
All of these performances make me question whether the production on the Lover album, as good as it is, is doing justice to the quality of the songs. I wonder this particularly with "Daylight." Don't get me wrong, I love the album version, but I don't think the production does the song justice. When Taylor is just on piano, I think it's easier to appreciate what a profound song it is (and I can actually tell what she's saying on the bridge).

I really liked the acoustic version of "The Man" - it feels more appropriate than the polished production we got on the actual track. I feel like the acoustic made me feel like it was her in a moment of reflection; the actual track came across more like a need to make a statement. I get the validity of the statement component, but I feel like it came at the expense of the message itself, if that makes sense.

So is this era over? Are we really not getting 'Cruel Summer' released as a single? What a missed opportunity if so. This is a great album but the single choices did not do it justice.

I’d hope if they plan to release Cruel Summer, they send out an adds date ASAP and have a video already ready to go. Make it happen, would love to see it have its moment!

It’s not trying to make a statement like The Man, it’s super radio friendly, and it’s fitting for the season. If anything, this has the potential to be the Delicate of this era. Maybe a remix would help it out, so I pitch Cruel Summer featuring Harry Styles. Make it happen Tay.

Have you not folllowed the charts ever since the streaming era began? Delicate was released a few months after the album's release. This would be 9-10.

Okay but the odds are it would underperform. Why do you think they've not released anything else after The Man? They don't want to waste more money trying to push something that won't happen. I'm guessing the next radio single from Taylor will be something new.

She has a huge fan base and if pushed right, it doesn’t matter that it’s the 5th single. I’m not saying it’s going to blast to #1, but I’m saying it will extend the era and hopefully move some more albums and continue to strengthen her position as a streaming artist moving forward. I have yet to see a live performance of Cruel Summer, which makes me think she wanted to limit its exposure so it can feel new and fresh when it finally is released.

You have to accept that Taylor is not the biggest pop star anymore. This era was a huge success. But not even some of the streaming giants successfully released fifth singles (Don't Matter To Me, Take What You Want, etc.). It would be an uphill battle for Taylor. I just think you're not looking at this realistically.

She almost had two #1s in Me! and You Need to Calm Down if not for the longest #1 hit of all time in Old Town Road, the album debuted at 679,000 pure album sales and 869,000 units, AND she did not have a ticket bundle.... but you’re trying to tell me she isn’t the biggest pop star in the world?! The only people that can rival Taylor’s success are Adele and Beyoncé right now, and possibly Rihanna if she ever releases again. Like I said, Cruel Summer may not top the chart, but it’s a pure pop song without a “message” that will bring a lot of fans back around the same way that Delicate did in Reputation. No one can say for certain what will happen with it, but it’s worth a shot at this point.

Taylor had a great debut, but in the long run did not perform as well as her piers like Ariana, Billie, and Post Malone. None of the 4 singles were huge hits. I just don't think you understand today's music landscape. It shows that I'm correct if you actually think Taylor is the biggest pop star right now.
