Kinda waiting for the inevitable Demi Lovato meltdown where she shades Taylor again. She recently signed with Scooter.

Also kinda hoping Ariana stays silent. Scooter is by all accounts a dear friend and a big reason why she's one of the biggest stars right now, but I don't want to see her pitted against Taylor.

This is getting messier by the minute with more people jumping in. Taylor has been put in a pretty tough spot and it really sucks that she couldn’t get ownership of her masters, especially when it’s basically her entire discography besides the Lover tracks. Taylor did so much for BMR for them to sell her masters to someone who obviously doesn’t like Taylor is a pretty shitty move.

I’ve never been a Scooter fan and I’ve always thought he was a slime ball but the homophobic accusation from Todrick is about to open a huge can of messiness. I hope Ariana stays silent because like someone else said, I don’t want them pitted against each other.

I think it would be cool for Taylor to re-record and re-release her old material but that would take so much time to get everyone together from six albums and basically redo every single one. With a new album coming out soon, I doubt Taylor has that kind of time.

Welp...Maybe she feels bending the truth to suit her will is for the greater good. In her text to Scott, it seems she is legitimately trying to help other artists, but if she is slandering other people and dragging other people's names through the mud as a means to an end, it's a supreme level of master manipulation and if that is indeed the case, I kinda gotta hand it to her.

The deal looked like what she was referring to earlier that she eventually and rightfully declined (earning back one album's masters per new album in that 10 year contract).

He posts a loose and unverified "text" he sent to Taylor telling her of the deal with Scooter (does not mean she had a chance to see it).

Taylor already debunked the fact of her father being in the know of the deal or in on those calls.

Her biggest issue regardless was with who he sold them to.

Unless I am missing something, how does this info catch her in some huge lie?

The screenshot he posted also seems to suggest that Taylor, herself, proposed 7 years vs. 10 years. If true, it would kind of undermine her point about not being open to this sort of deal due to fear that the label would be sold. Of course you want 7 years vs 10 years, but if you're open to 7 years, you're still open to a long-term contract with the label.

Now, it's still a very one-side piece that's missing two key ingredients:

1) Did Taylor initially propose a straight buyout? If so, how did Big Machine respond (hard no, ridiculous counter-offer, etc)? That's relevant here for understanding whether this was a good-faith negotiation.

2) What additional clauses are in that contract? Like, what does "10 years" mean here?

Well part of it is the symbolic gesture. She signs the new contract and she gets the masters immediately. So she'd have received the reputation masters this past fall, as opposed to in 2028.

We definitely need context on the overall deal terms. Borchetta's post seems to suggest there was no album requirement, so in essence this was "any music you release over the next 10 years is via Big Machine." But I'm not sure what other concrete terms are involved.

I honestly dont see anything in that truth to call her a liar. I see different perspectives and we dont know how much as an artist she had to gain by leaving vs staying . We dont know what Scott has said or done to her in conversations and their history and we dont have anything to dispel how she feels about Scooby.

It still could very well be powerful men using their platform and she a powerful woman using hers. Doesnt mean their isnt valid concern for all parties from different angles.

Anyways, kinda shady of Borchetta to bring up Parkland and Manchester, trying to deflect some attention into the fact that Taylor declined to perform there.

I really want a bigger statement or an interview from Taylor to clear up several facts.
