St. Vincent co-wrote "Cruel Summer" but I don't think I got any hint of her doing background vocals or anything else.
"The Man" is that b*tch. If they had to go with any of the four Joel Little songs as singles, why did they go with the two weaker ones?
"The Archer" is still a snooze, sorry.
"I Think He Knows" is cool.
"Miss Americana and the Heartbreak Prince" is great! It's very Halsey in a good way.
"Paper Rings" is kinda filler-y too, but again, I enjoy it.
So far it's very good! Nothing really stands out in a bad way.

Idk.. I’m pretty disappointed. Hopefully it will grow on me. I wasn’t really a fan of reputation and now this.. I feel like her albums are progressively getting worse.

I'm holding out so that all my streams counts! I do want to see Lover open with 1MM US. I was a bit indifferent in terms of urgency to listen to it on release day, but the positive promo and the early reviews here are making it a must-listen as soon as its live.
Lover video is a great way to incorporate the color palate she's donned for the era. BTW - Lots of physical embracing, but how many times do they actually kiss? Was a nice touch to open and close with their kid - so it had a happy ending.

I remember thinking a few years ago when it came out that Taylor had a GH in her contract with Big Machine, I wanted her to record her older hits instead of just making it a standard copy and paste compilation.
I'm so excited that she's going to re-record her first five albums, I'll buy them in a heartbeat. The fact that Scooter and Scott Borchetta will be sitting and seething while it happens is just a bonus.

I'm looking forward to the album, but the video was a disappointment. I've had more chemistry on the subway with men of color than Taylor has with the dude in this video. Sorry sis. I love the song though.

The comments on here seem a LOT more positive than the initial ones for reputation that's for sure (although I enjoy that album).
From what I'm gathering the album is kind of like a mix between Red and 1989 with her going back to her country roots a bit? Exactly what I wanted!
Excited to listen in the AM. :)

Sonically, I think this is a lot closer to Reputation than I expected and I'm only through Paper Rings (which is freaking cute in a good way) and Cornelia Street. It really fits so far as the shiny happy antithesis of Reputation. It feels like a fun giddy album you play blaring in the car, with enough introspective and slower moments to break it up. It's the kind of album you smile to. So far the word I would most us for the album is "cute," which will be interesting. That isn't always the best received but I think it doesn't need to be pejorative.

My favorites after a couple listens are Cruel Summer (this needs a f**king music video), Miss Americana and The Heartbreak Prince (why did the secret sessioners call this forgettable/skip?) and Cornelia Steeet.
Least favorites are I Forgot That You Existed (why is she still on about the drama?) Death By A Thousand Cuts (forgettable af) and You Need to Calm Down (wtf are those lyrics?).

I wish she kept the original title of Daylight because, based on descriptions, it makes more sense. This is the only album I can ever recall for which I won't even listen to clips. Gonna just run to Target when they open tomorrow.

This album makes me happy. It's just fun. Even the cheesy songs are working for me. It creates a mood. My early faves are Cruel Summer, Paper Rings, The Man (SO much better than expected - the Leo line was f'in awesome), Cornelia Street, and False God. And I kind of love London Boy even though I feel like I shouldn't lol.

One Question: Why wasn’t Cruel Summer the lead single again?
Overall it’s 100x better than Reputation but not quite on the level of 1989. But a huge improvement!

Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince really is quite reminiscent of BTD era Lana. It's my favorite so far. Other standouts are Cruel Summer, The Man & Paper Rings. (I'm currently at Cornelia Street)
