If she gonna wear those specific colors she outta get a tan and put some curl in her hair. She looks washed in those otherwise lovely colors.
But she will bring the right fashion, set design and presentation for her performance she has to and she is smart business woman.

Taylor Swift’s Lover continues to do brisk business, as sales of the album approached 575,000 copies sold in the U.S. through Sunday (Aug. 25), according to initial sales reports to Nielsen Music. The album was released on Friday (Aug. 23), so it’s powered through nearly 575,000 in just three days. Lover already has the biggest sales week for any album since Swift’s own reputation sold 1.216 million copies in its first week and debuted at No. 1 on the Dec. 2, 2017-dated Billboard 200 chart. Looks like Billboard didn't chart "Lover" on Country Songs; I thought there was a chance it may, given the tinges in spots, but ah well.

Would be nice to watch the VMAs but I don't have cable and my Watch AT&T app on the Fire Stick conveniently decided to shut down as soon as Lover came on so yay!

Would be nice to watch the VMAs but I don't have cable and my Watch AT&T app on the Fire Stick conveniently decided to shut down as soon as Lover came on so yay! I take deepston to be my lover. I was able to restart the feed but Lil Nas X's corny dancing and lipsynching made the feed die so I missed Missy's performance. Sure it will be up soon tho. Edit: OOP. Forgot to mention the performance. Welp. Didn't like Calm Down at all and Lover should have been her at the piano without the loud bgv but it was a solid B. Just boring.

I’ve been trying to figure out how to voice my thoughts on this album, and I think I’ve finally figured out the word I’ve been looking for:
Wow.
After having heard the album, I actually think “ME!” was the perfect first single. It literally showed us exactly what not to expect. Annoying melody designed specifically for commercial appeal? Nah. Cheesy and impersonal lyrics? Hell no. Weak bridges? Those are the best parts of the album. Overall poor quality? This is her best album yet.
If you remove the first two singles, which are so ridiculously out of place, along with the generic “I Forgot That You Existed”, what’s left is essentially a perfect album. The melodies and production are all on point. There’s plenty of single potential, but all of the hooks fit the message of their respective songs, rather than pandering. There’s a very dreamy atmosphere to the whole affair that’s very appealing and fits with the lyrics much better than the production on Reputation did. She also takes quite a few stylistic risks that pay off more than Reputation’s, with some notable Lana del Rey and Halsey influences.
And the lyrics... My god, the lyrics... This is what we always knew she would eventually be capable of. Anyone that’s followed my Swift rankings (plug) knows that my biggest problem with that album was that so many of the songs just said the same thing. She was caught in the honeymoon phase and was basically just gushing about Joe the whole time. Lover makes it clear that she’s moved on to a very different and much more serious phase of her relationship. There’s a lot more depth and maturity to the lyrics and she gets very introspective and self-reflective at times. “The Archer” is quite simply a masterpiece in that regard.
There’s a bit more diversity to the album as well. “The Man” is a very clever and biting take on the treatment of women in the industry, and “Soon You’ll Get Better” is a soul crushing look at how her mom’s cancer has impacted her. It makes “Ronan” feel almost pedestrian in comparison.
And as I mentioned in the beginning, the bridges are just awesome. The bridge of “Death by a Thousand Cuts” in particular just blows me away, the best part of the album. “Daylight” is a close second.
This is her magnum opus. I knew she was capable of it, but those first two singles were definitely a blindside. Clean off the fat and you have a near flawless 15-song album.

As a pop fan, I enjoy this album but nothing will come close to Reputation for me. This album is great and it reminds me of where 1989 would have naturally led, but it is missing the Max Martin bops we got and had perfected on Rep. I thing this album will definitely grow on me, though I’m not sure about it’s prolonged success or CHR presence.

The reputation era is over, and she just posted this... http://instagr.am/p/BuRqXqqlshV Not sure what it means, but there's 7 emojis used and 7 trees featured in the picture. Fans are speculating summer album. Either way, time for a new thread methinks. Just realized how accurate this post predicted this era.

As someone who is very far from being a fan of Taylor's, I have always given her props when she creates music that I think is actually really great. With that said, "Cruel Summer" and "Lover" are easily two of the best songs in her entire catalog. I've had them on repeat all weekend. Really hoping CS gets a single release at some point.
Also fairly impressed with the album as a whole. There are still several awful songs and a few that are just uninspiring but "The Man", "I Forgot That You Existed", "London Boy", "Afterglow" and "Paper Rings" are all very good as well. "Soon You'll Get Better" is a tad underwhelming because I was excited for it to be an actual duet with the Dixie Chicks, but it's still very well written. "You Need To Calm Down" has also grown on me tremendously and I don't despise "ME!" like I did when it was a single, but its still not great (I think taking out the 'hey kids' part on the album version really turned my opinion toward the positive quickly).
The rest I can easily do without, however, I applaud Taylor for taking a major step back in the right direction after the tragedy that was reputation. I hope "Lover" smashes and that we get a few more of the better songs on the album as singles too.
Overall rankings: 1. Cruel Summer 2. Lover 3. I Forgot That You Existed 4. The Man 5. London Boy 6. Afterglow 7. Paper Rings 8. Soon You'll Get Better 9. You Need To Calm Down 10. False God 11. I Think He Knows 12. Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince 13. ME! 14. Cornelia Street 15. The Archer 16. Daylight 17. Death By A Thousand Cuts 18. It's Nice To Have A Friend
(the last two are the only two that are complete trash)

I'm confused by her fashion choices. She could have had Stella McCartney design a magnificent outfit that would be something new and bring attention to her merch line. Instead, she goes with a Versace look that looks like a slightly more business-formal-ish version of what she wore to Teen Choice. I think it’s an awesome statement. Men wear the same outfits and no one cares, why does Taylor have to wear extravagant and different outfits to impress people?

So far I think she will do: 750k pure sales + 150k SEA+TEA = 900k
Hopefully, the merch sales come through with 100k albums :bert: Does she have any more promo slots this week?

Oh if we're talking who's more boring that would definitely be Shawn Mendes lol. I think men, even straight men, should put more effort into their red carpet looks instead of wearing the same old suit. Harry Styles, Ezra Miller, Billy Porter, Darren Chris, JVN are some good examples of men/androgynous folks that bring the house down. I'm surprised because I know Taylor can do so much better & she's in the position where EVERYONE would love to design something for her.

Taylor, as Aretha Franklin put it, has "beautiful gowns" and I want more from her.

Doesn't Sunrise have all 4 deluxe editions? My local record store had all 4 (plus the regular - I got the regular). I forgot to look at the price of them though. Yes, Sunrise has it. I got the second one and it cost $41 after tax. I remarked, “That’s mad expensive for a f**king journal” to the cashier lol. As an update, for any other Canadians, Amazon has a few editions discounted (but not at all, for whatever reason). V1 - $40 V2 -$30 V3 - $40 V4 - $35 I ordered v2, obvi.

Target edition in the US has seemingly went down from $19.99 to $16.99 as well. I'm still waiting for my paycheck on Wednesday to get it so that's good news for ME! (and if you buy 4 you get a $5 gift card)
