1. What song(s) do you think could win the No Place That Far rankdown? No Place That Far 2. What song(s) do you expect might come in last place? Cupid or maybe The Knot Comes Untied 3. What single (Cryin' Game, No Place That Far, Fool I'm a Woman) do you expect to place highest? Lowest? Maybe Fool, I'm A Woman for lowest but all three are good! 4. What album track do you think will be the highest and where will it land? The Great Unknown? 5. Any other predictions/thoughts? When I think of her discography, I usually think Born To Fly first. I definitely need to start giving this album the credit it deserves

1. What song(s) do you think could win the No Place That Far rankdown? Definitely "No Place That Far". This is yet another obvious winner, imo.
2. What song(s) do you expect might come in last place? If this isn't a stiff competition between "There's Only One" and "These Days", y'all need to just take a second and schedule an auditory examination.
3. What single (Cryin' Game, No Place That Far, Fool I'm a Woman) do you expect to place highest? Lowest? Highest: Title track at #1. Lowest: "Fool, I'm A Woman" at #4.
4. What album track do you think will be the highest and where will it land? "The Great Unknown", at #3. Dark horse contender would be "Love, Don't Be A Stranger".
5. Any other predictions/thoughts? This album is every bit as solid as her best work, but imo none of the singles (aside from the title track) stand out as her best loved singles, while none of the album tracks stand out as her best-loved album tracks. So it will be very interesting to see how they all stack up against each other! I expect single bias to still run rampant, but an album track might manage to sneak in at #3 ahead of "Fool, I'm A Woman".
"Cupid" will be the most polarizing song of the album!! "There's Only One" and "These Days" will be the second and third least polarizing songs on the album, with "No Place That Far" being the least.

Would love to maybe see a few more predictions. Will try to reveal our #11 song at the very least sometime tomorrow when I have free time.

Lol, I've gotten far more predictions than this! I'd just like to see at least 2-3 more, honestly. But it's okay, we can keep on waiting for this thing to start... :sip2:

1. What song(s) do you think could win the No Place That Far rankdown? The title track...and nothing else will come close tbh (nor should it)!
2. What song(s) do you expect might come in last place? Maybe "These Days" or "Cupid". "There's Only One" might also end up last as well.
3. What single (Cryin' Game, No Place That Far, Fool I'm a Woman) do you expect to place highest? Lowest? HIGHEST: "No Place That Far" at #1. LOWEST: "Fool, I'm a Woman" at #3 or #4?
4. What album track do you think will be the highest and where will it land? Not quite sure tbh. "Love, Don't Be a Stranger" grew on me the most so I wouldn't mind seeing that make the top five.
5. Any other predictions/thoughts? This album was a grower for me, but I did find quite a few gems on here!

1. What song(s) do you think could win the No Place That Far rankdown? I think there’s only one correct answer for this
2. What song(s) do you expect might come in last place? Either “There’s Only One” or “These Days” with “Cupid” rounding out the bottom 3
3. What single (Cryin' Game, No Place That Far, Fool I'm a Woman) do you expect to place highest? “No Place That Far” at #1 Lowest? “Cryin’ Game” at #2 with “Fool, I’m a Woman at #4 as I think one of the album tracks will make it into the top 3
4. What album track do you think will be the highest and where will it land? I’m hoping “Love, Don’t Be a Stranger” makes it into the top 3 but otherwise I can see that and “The Great Unknown” all in the top 5
5. Any other predictions/thoughts? I can remember listening to this album quite a bit back when it was released so it was fun getting to revisit the songs again as some of them resonate differently at this point in my life than they did when I was a teen lol

"No Place That Far" will win. Nothing else will come close
2. What song(s) do you expect might come in last place?
This is harder for me to say based on my little knowledge of the album but I'm hoping it is either "Cupid" or "There's Only One"
3. What single (Cryin' Game, No Place That Far, Fool I'm a Woman) do you expect to place highest? Lowest?
HIGHEST: "No Place That Far" at #1 LOWEST: "Fool, I'm A Woman" at #3 or #4
4. What album track do you think will be the highest and where will it land?
I liked "Love, Don't Be A Stranger" the most of the album tracks so I hope it is that one at #3 or #4

I'm only three days late starting reveals even though everyone acts like I pulled a Jordy, but here we go with our last place. "There's Only One" was the only one to contend for #11, as it remained in that spot for basically the entire submission process (I think it settled in there after the third list and never moved up). This song is a simple gospel-tinged album closer with a call-and-response chorus about how God's love is what keeps her going through life's hardships. The biggest selling point of this one is Sara's rich and beautiful twangy performance, but the song itself is lyrically very bare and it's a rather uninteresting song compared to most of No Place That Far, which led to it receiving quite a hammering in the ranks as it came in dead last on seven lists. Sadly gardyfan loses a top 5 right off the bat, proving that there is indeed only one, lol. "Ain't got no money No place to sleep No one has ever been down as me I'm just a stranger trouble at my feet But through all my trials It occurs to me"

Yessssss, this song is a fitting last placer. I wish I could make a pun about how there’s only one acceptable contender for last place, but this one and “These Days” are basically the exact same song, and it was pretty much a tossup for my last place.
“There’s Only One” isn’t BAD by any stretch of the imagination, but for me it doesn’t really have an identity. Every other song on this album seems to have a personality, whether you like it or not, but this one and “These Days” both feel completely faceless. And that is possibly exacerbated for each of them by the presence of the other!

The next two songs were only separated by 1 point in the final tally, and "Time Won't Tell" fell on the unlucky side of that coin. A very maudlin song about the persisting memory of a lost love that is one of the more old school weeper songs on the album (it would've perhaps fit a little better on her debut record), it received little fanfare in the rankdown and consistently ranked near the bottom. It only was slotted in last place by George Strait Junkie, while receiving two top 5s from bigfan101 and @xfer. Everyone else, on the other hand, made a place for it in the lower half of their list. "Time won't tell me how it might have been And time won't make what's wrong alright It can only take me back again Dreaming all those memories in black and white"

"These Days" rounds out our bottom 3 in the No Place That Far album rankdown, besting our last song by a mere 1 point margin in the end. This fiddle-laden little ditty with prominent wailed corny background vocals on the chorus (which are notable for being the reason I find this to be the weakest offering on the album, personally), wound up being a rather divisive choice among the participants. It did rake in three top 5 ranks and a decent number of six and seven placements as well, but then a large swath of bottom 2 ranks really sunk its chances of going the distance. "Ever since you said goodbye The hands on the clock just take their time I wonder if they always will Cause the minute that you left me Time stood still"

"Cupid" flew up and down throughout the submission process quite a bit, but ultimately this one fluttered to a landing just above the bottom 3, with this being another case of a 1-point margin separating songs as it comes up just shy of number 7. This rousing honky-tonk number is easily the most hillbilly moment on the record with a super twangy performance from Sara Evans and whimsical lyrics that find her pessimistically requesting not to be put through falling in love again. Our biggest lost yet comes in the form of @xfer taking a hit to his top 2, and a further six top 5s as well. The house was clearly divided though as "Cupid" also racked up four last-place ranks, the next higher number after "There's Only One." "Tell Cupid not to point that thing at me One more hole in my poor heart is just what I don't need I've been teased by a fake Burned by love And left by destiny So for my hearts sake tell Cupid wait Don't point that thing at me"

"Time Won't Tell" is such a gorgeous song with a powerful and earnest vocal from Sara. I can't believe it finished in the bottom 2 :'( I have always found the lyrics to be particularly strong on this one.
I already kind of said my thoughts on "These Days" earlier. Basically, this song and "There's Only One" are WAY too similar to add anything to this album, and in fact the presence of both of them kinda tends to lessen the impact that each one might have had individually. They are both deliciously traditional in their arrangement, but lack any purpose from there. I consider them both to be among the least consequential songs of her entire career.
"Cupid" is a fun and energetic performance, but in my opinion it sounds out of place on this album. I also think that George Jones' background vocals are pretty terrible, even though they do give the song a lot of personality... As fun as this is, I have never been able to fully get into it. I was hoping for a bottom 3 for this.

I'm going to predict "The Knot Comes Untied" with the next reveal! It feels a little soon, but imo all the obvious contenders are gone, so it is going to get painful from here...

The clairvoyant bboat11 called it: "The Knot Comes Untied" gets tangled up for a number 7 finish in the No Place That Far rankdown. This twangy tune detailing a woman leaving her husband with a map and a full tank of gas being the getaway tools of choice. It edged out "Cupid" by a single point here, to wind up almost smack dab in the middle, which is fittingly where most participants ranked it as many 6s/7s are lost here. There were three top 5 losses, however, as well as a pair of last place ranks from ClevelandRox and Troublemaker. "She's a got a Rand McAlly map And a tank full of gasoline Yeah love's been headin' south And now she's heading out of New Orleans She throws her last picture out the window near the Louisiana line She's somewhere between dreaming and leaving old feelings behind As the knot comes untied"

"The Knot Comes Untied" is a song that Sara completely slays vocally. I love her vocal performance on this song, and also the way the chorus suddenly gets pretty big after the rather quiet verses. However, I have always considered this song to be slightly inferior to "Time Won't Tell". It hurts seeing this one go, but then again I don't think I could see it finishing higher than anything that is left. My slight preference to "Time Won't Tell" is the only reason this one is at my #8 instead of #7. My top 6 is the top 6!
I predict that "I Thought I'd See Your Face Again" will be next, although everything that is left will be super painful...
