Idk about quality, but I surely know this year's first 10 weeks are more exciting than the last year's first 30. Drake really ruined everything.

"Sucker" drops to #2, allowing "Shallow" to retake the #1 on the iTunes charts.

2019: year of low quality #1s “Without Me”, “7 Rings” and now possibly “Sucker” Umm... Number 1 hits are often of low quality. Straining for recall when a collection of Number 1 hits was... -- of best quality of the artist -- the best representation of that artist's work -- one of the artist's signature songs

Number one hits became number one hits in the first place because someone liked them

"Quality" is just a discussion that will go on circles.

2019: year of low quality #1s “Without Me”, “7 Rings” and now possibly “Sucker” Yeah, because 2018 didn't have "Perfect", "SAD!", "Girls Like You", "thank u, next", and "Sicko Mode". i was with you until you said sicko mode

2019: year of low quality #1s “Without Me”, “7 Rings” and now possibly “Sucker” I looked at the list with all the songs that were #1 during first 10 weeks of each year this century and 2019 is the worst year, IMO. Sunflower is the best #1 but it's much worse than rockstar, Congratulations, Psycho and Better Now. In 2004, after 10 weeks we had Hey Ya, The Way You Move, Slow Jamz and Yeah reaching #1...

But I thought "Shallow" was dead and going to have a record breaking drop? We all make mistakes

When I see what is #1 now, I feel sorry for NTLTC. "Sucker" is a good song, but #1 material? IDK...happy for their success tho. Well Ari shouldn't of released during the peak Drake hype. Blame her label for that terrible business decision

..but didnt she gain 2 number 1s down the line? I mean NTLTC did what it could and stuck around. It was still successful regardless of its peak position.

"Waaah I don't like current hits, it was better X years ago" is a conversation that takes place literally every month for the past 15+ years and each time the period of "quality hits" gets younger and younger.
Nostalgia is one hell of a drug.

Blame her label for that terrible business decision Is it really a terrible business decision when NTLTC was one of the biggest pop hits of 2018? Peaks aren't the end all be all. It's literally just a snapshot of one week and doesn't tell the full story. Labels care about longevity way before peaks and Ariana is not at all hurting in that department for any of her recent hits.

I mean the guy comment was NTLTC not going number one and not about it not being a hit, And NTLTC didn't have great longevity, it what spent 25 weeks charting? It's getting good recurrent airplay however I'll give her that.

I can't believe in 2019 The Jonas brothers out of all people are vying for a number one song let alone a number one debut. Kevins power!

I think "no tears left to cry" will probably be more remembered/get more recurrent play than any of her recent hits except for "thank u, next".
Still lowkey shocked it got no Grammy nods. It felt like it checked all the right boxes.
The Hot 100 run for it was impressive at the time. 2018 wasn't a great year for female pop singers on the Hot 100.

Yep, and NTLTC was high up in the recurrent chart for a long while, and it was a groundbreaking success on Apple Music at a time when no women, let alone a pop singer could not crack the top ten. "Waaah I don't like current hits, it was better X years ago" is a conversation that takes place literally every month for the past 15+ years and each time the period of "quality hits" gets younger and younger. Nostalgia is one hell of a drug. ^ This is v important.

Nostalgia is one hell of a drug. I feel like people forget all the really mediocre average stuff, and a few great and (lesser) bad songs stick in the memory. For different reasons of course. So it leads to a different perception. You could argue lyrical quality has gone down, but the mainstream has always had it's disposable meaningless tracks.

NTLTC should have been released before Gods Plan or after Drakes domination.

WTF happened to kworb.net ? Does anyone know why kworb hasn't updated yet? Got a reply back from kworb on Twitter. Bad news, no more radio posts on there, have to go to All Access for now on.
